- This video is a story driven War Thunder Simulator Battles match.
I hope you enjoy this little attempt in making a normal simulator battles game even more interesting.
I fly a P-63A-5 Kingcobra in EC 3.7 over the Maginot Line.
another under rated channel with these narrated videos!
Would love to see a video with the p38, great energy fighter and i think you’d go insane in it, whether it be the 3.0 or the 4.3, either way it’d be very entertaining to watch, keep up the good work man
Thanks man :)
Yeah the P-38 is really good and it's such a special plane. It has pretty good armament too situated in the nose which always helps, especially a BnZ plane.
Would love to do a video with it soon!
@@involuntarycommander8804 that would be amazing, keep doing what your doing and you’ll be up there at phly daily status! I was honestly surprised watching your videos and saw you didn’t have hundreds of thousands of subs, but keep doing great content like this and you’ll get there in no time, you do too good with your videos to not get far!
If you want to see P-38 action in WT SIM you have IdahoBookWorm :D
I had lot of fun watching your vid. A+ work!!
Thanks my man! Appreciate it. Any particular aircraft you would be interested to see in future videos?
I love this! Thank you very much! I am learning sim now, focusing on the P-47
Happy you enjoyed it!
A word of advice on the P-47. Climb high and boom & zoom. Never turnfight even if your tempted. Also you are probably the fastest plane in the match so you can always run away 😉
Good luck! And try out the ground belts!
This looks SO good i'll have to get myself a joystick xd
I love this series, please keep them coming
Thanks:) I will
I dont even play this game and I love this content! Very excited to see how long it takes you to hit 1k!
your vids are amazing, keep up the good work
Thank you :)
The p63 can basically outturn all german aircraft with similar BR at low altitude, fyi. Love the vid, keep up the good work! o7
Thanks man!
Hmm. Yeah I guess it can turn pretty fast but you lose all energy in doing so in my experience. So I would never dogfight a bf109 in it. Or am I completely wrong here lol?
It's definitely safer to not turn fight at all, maintaining energy is always best. But if in a pinch, you should be safe to turn against 109F's and later models (F4 is highest threat). If you run into an 109E (which is below the p63's BR) then they can easily stay within your turn circle.@@involuntarycommander8804
P-39 is even better
You use the P-39 for
@@illumina4399 both the p39 and p63 have no supercharger gear switch, so they are only useful below 4km
Great gameplay and insanely immersive watch, loved the vid. You should consider joining a sim squadron to have a buddy to play with.
Thank you for expressing your satisfaction 🙏 it keeps me going!
I might consider joining a squadron for some group activities. 🤔 could be fun!
Oh man really enjoy your content, hope someday fight with or against you just for fun, keep doing it!
Thanks man! Say hello if you see me in SB. I usually play in br 2.7 - 6.3.
@@involuntarycommander8804 I will
Great vid, your chanel is underrated
Thanks man, much appreciated 🙏
I saw him after you started pulling out of the dive
Do you think you’d ever do collabs with other RUclipsrs who strictly fly sim? Another great video
Thank you!
I don't know really. Maybe later on :)
great video! What gets you thru war thunders grind?
Thanks man!
I guess I don't mind the grind if I am rewarded with a plane I want to fly. However, I don't particularly enjoy the grind when I have to grind past planes that I don't really wanna fly. I have bought 2 premiums in two different factions to speed the grind up a bit too.
How about you? :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 I can handle the grind when the tier is low enough that it doesn't take a grillion years haha
If the only thing you are going for are aerial victories, Boom & Zoom tactics are the way to go. Everything else is gambling and a waste of time.
I guess there are moments when you can afford dogfighting an opponent. For example, when you know you are in a more manoeuvrable plane than the enemy and you have checked so no other enemies are nearby.
But other than that, I agree with you!
And sometimes, my greed to score the kill gets the better of me...
@@involuntarycommander8804 Well, and sometimes you just want to have a bit more fun and take the risk ;)
good video and random question but as a someone who plays combat sims would you recommend war thunder sim battles?
it depends, war thunder air sim (the mode in this video) is much easier with a stick, and if you use mouse control its gonna be more difficult to stabilize your aircraft. however, doing arcade and realistic battles is far easier with mouse. so essentially, doing air sim is totally possible with mouse, but i would recommend using a joystick.
also, in air simulator battles be prepared to spend a lot of time flying in a straight line, doing not much, as it takes time to get to objectives or finding a target, but when shooting someone down, it is very rewarding.
Thanks!
If you are interested in flight sims then War thunder sim battles is pretty easy to get into. You can try it out with mouse and keyboard even before investing to much into gear such as a hotas and vr or similar. So yes. I recommend it!
@@involuntarycommander8804 thanks for the reply! And I do have sim gear already as I have dcs but I have to say your videos have been making me want to play it 😅
@kraypher6103 ah I see! I thought you came from games other than flight sims. In that case. It's free to try out and there is always ppl playing. You can fly a whole lot of different aircraft. It's a bit grindy but it is also what keeps you hooked ;) You can also play a combination with planes and tanks and bomb other ppl which is nice ^^
Coming from DCS or IL2 it will be a breeze. Give it a shot.
Nice man are you using a VR headset?
I'm using a head tracker called TrackIR:)
@@involuntarycommander8804 Ever try VR yet?
No I haven't yet tried VR.
Can't yet decide when to dip my toes into that. It feels like the tech is improving fast. Maybe when something affordable, easy to use with good resolution comes reaches me ;)
The p63 N does have a ridiculous turn ans climb rate for its br, its completely broken if used correctly, although the 37mm can be frustrating to aim at times
Man i started palying the p 63 shortly before quitting whart hunter, its an amazing aircraft, sadly tje lack of a dtick hindered my performance quite significantly in thsi aircraft, but i cna sya dor sure that, at the br it is rn, is quite op against anything that doenst know what they are doing vrry well
That's alotta typos
You could of got out of that spin if you used landing flaps
cool
Love this Sims really fun wish I was able to have Vr and stick
It's a fun game! Have you looked after second-hand gear? It should be a lot cheaper.
@@involuntarycommander8804 unfortunately I'm on ps4 so i can't use the stuff. But I still have tons of fun in sim still
TrackIr is a better option compared to VR imo and it's a lot cheaper. I recommend looking into those if you want to get into Mil Sims. Honestly VR has issues in warthunder and overall you need a higher end computer to have even some sense of good graphics.
Is there a control setup guide you recommend? Would love to see your setup
I use different controls for many planes as they behave quite different. Some have bad roll rates, some have too high roll rates so I turn those sensitivity setting up and down to match what I think works best. Same with pitch.
To summarize:
You can use the same keybinds for all planes, just change roll and pitch sensitivity to your preference.
@Involuntary Commander Curious if you played other flight sims before this one and where you learned to "fly" ultimately?
I played some IL-2: Forgotten Battles but that was probably 20 years ago and I doubt that I learned anything from it.
But I have been playing war thunder for some time and it's in War thunder I learned to "fly" :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 That's awesome. Do you find it useful to practice in custom battles or use test flight mode? Do you practice maneuvers much or do you simply try to stay high and conserve energy until you can safely dump the energy to get good shots off?
You are really skilled!
Thanks man!
I fly a lot in test flight, but I never tried custom battles. In test flight I kind of get to know the limits of the plane. I test when the plane wings rip and how I should trim it. Also how it turns and climbs.
But best practise is for sure to do actual battles with a good feeling of how the plane should be used against different opponents. :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 Awesome man. Thanks for your advice.
Använder du Tobii eller Track ir ? =). Grymma videos !
Stumbled on this and loved it. Well flown. Subbed 🫡
Thank you!
what do you use to fly? Hotas and rudder pedals? do you trim your plane out? I have a hard time flying level in simulator battles.
I use a hotas only. No rudder pedals.
I trim my plane out in the following way:
Jump into test flight. Fly at 100% throttle at about 1000 meter altitude. Trim my plane so that it flies level. Save the trim settings to that particular aircraft.
Good luck friend! :)
How do you zoom in that close to your HUD? Is there a button for this as I'm not on vr only head tracking
I have zoomed in extra when editing the video in some cases, to help you guys see better. Otherwise I use the standard zoom.
@@involuntarycommander8804 thought so 😁 I have seen you in matches before, Will keep an eye out 😂
Nice, see you in game then! I won't hold back ;)
@@involuntarycommander8804 PINEEY_DOO usually play 4.3-5.3 atm
do you use joystick or keyboard and mouse?
I use a Joystick with a throttle. Saitek x55 rhino.
@@involuntarycommander8804 how do you free look though?
@@a3studios696 with a head tracker called TrackIR:)
It really helps to have some kind of head tracker while using a Joystick. Either a TrackIR or VR. I hope this information was helpful.
@@involuntarycommander8804 it was thank you, and very nice video
You're welcome, and thank you. See you in game hopefully :)
Put your landing gear down In a flatspin to recover way more easily
Yeah I hadn't learnt that that trick yet ^^
It is funny that it actually works xD
How can you hold your aircraft so still. If i try even with trimming i cant hold it that still and i need atleast 30 sec to get my sight on it and then i still miss
Try adjusting the pitch, rudder and aileron sensitivity. Lowering it can make it easier to aim, but it will cripple your maneuverability somewhat. Also, I have had many hours of practice and if you give it some time in teat flight you'll get there eventually. Good luck to you, I hope this was to some help :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 i already have that to 1% but ig i just have to practice more
@@involuntarycommander8804 would you be willing to help me?
@@involuntarycommander8804 you dont have to if you dont want.
Come in at a fast and high angle so you can strafe the whole body of the aircraft. Either get the pilot or fuel but you make it look too easy bro!
I don't really know where the fuel tanks are on most planes. I just try to get the 37mm's to hit :)
@@involuntarycommander8804 bro you’re not trying, you ARE doing it and the efficiency low key makes me not want to play realistic battles 🤣 I’m gonna be trying out WT VR soon lol
Yes give SIM a try :) glhf
what setup do you use
Hotas and TrackIR
First =D GG
Congrats :)
Ty!
How to win in WT? Simple. Play with keyboard and mouse and that's it.
I guess M&K players have a slight edge in aiming, I'll give you that! :)
