i know Im asking randomly but does anyone know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
I'm a Nam vet with ALS. In 1976 John Prime's music and the poetry in it, helped me to put a lot of things behind me ,and allow me another 44 yrs. With her. Thank you
Terry Johnson thank you!!!! I'm so sorry that you've suffered so much , I hope you know , probably more than ever you were very appreciated, you did what you were told to do, I'm pretty sure you were not even 20 when you were asked to do the inexplicable and you believed what you were told and followed "orders" my heart goes out to you!!! God Bless and thank you AGAIN !! You gave up so much of your life, heart and soul for us!
Appreciated, I spend a lot of my time writing songs. Glad you picked up on it :) I did a few Highwayman lyrics too. I posted them on the Highwayman video if you want to check them out
I saw John at Northern Kentucky University in the 70s. He came out with a guitar. And 4 large glass es of Beer. He played for almost 3 hrs. . he was Great!!!!!
What condensed horse shit. What the fugg does terminal cancer have to do with corona virus? Do you believe everything the goddam government tells you through the lying bastard media?
I've never known an artist that captures the real world in song like he does......He is truly what country and western should be...about reality...not fantasy!!
Was introduced to John Prine songs many years ago, immediately fell in love with all, bought a cassette tape of his so I could listen in the car going to and from work, i would get home from work and just sit in my car listening to him, I also had 4 young teenage sons who are now pushing their 40's. At first they told me to listen to real music etc, etc. Funny thing is all these years later each and every one if them knows all the words to most of his songs. And we all went to see him when he was in Des Moines, IA. One of the best.
County and western should just be country and western - why change any genre? Prime is a singer songwriter entertainer which is cool as well. It should not be a competition.
This song and all the other songs of John Prine (to that date) always take me back to chilly nights outside of Memphis, sitting in R. Steve Peters' backyard. Gathered around the bonfire, we'd break out the flattops and regale the ladies with songs through the night. Steve gets the credit as the one who turned me on to John Prine. Oh, the times we had! So many days have passed, as have many of the people we knew and loved. It's amazing when one reflects on how those we have known have impacted our lives. I can still hear their voices, their laughs; I can see them plain as day before my eyes, and remember the times we shared, the memories we made that I will carry with me to the end. Thanks John. You have, in a very literal way, written the soundtrack of my life.
John Prine - Dear Abby (Live) Lyrics Dear Abby, dear Abby My feet are too long My hair's falling out and my rights are all wrong My friends they all tell me that I've no friends at all Won't you write me a letter, won't you give me a call Signed bewildered Bewildered, bewildered You have no complaint You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't So listen up buster, and listen up good Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood Dear Abby, dear Abby My fountain pen leaks My wife hollers at me and my kids are all freaks Every side I get up on is the wrong side of bed If it weren't so expensive I'd wish I were dead Signed unhappy Unhappy, unhappy You have no complaint You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't So listen up buster, and listen up good Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood Dear Abby, dear Abby Dear Abby, dear Abby Dear Abby, dear Abby You won't believe this But my stomach makes noises whenever I kiss My girlfriend tells me it's all in my head But my stomach tells me to write you instead Signed noise-maker Noise-maker, noise-maker You have no complaint You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't So listen up buster, and listen up good Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood Dear Abby, dear Abby Well I never thought That me and my girlfriend would ever get caught We were sitting in the back seat just shooting the breeze With her hair up in curlers and her pants to her knees Signed just married Just married just married You have no complaint You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't So listen up buster, and listen up good Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood Signed dear Abby
Prine has always been over the top. --- listened to him in the 70s at a Kenosha tavern when I was supposed to be at AMC work but decided to go in late or not at all. DP
Got a call one Sat back in the late 70's and asked to take John from TO to London for a show he had to do. I was in shorts t-shirt and rubber boots and he said come on, and so I did. A wonderful solo show, very captivating. Needless to say I was barefoot at the show. Thanks to Ronnie for the party after at his Hotel.
Awe gosh this song brings back so many memories. Thank you for many years Mr. John Prine! Would have loved to burn one with John. Prayers still being said for all John's family, friends & fans. Gid bless Mrs. Fiona
Many years ago while trying to hitch a ride out of Denver Colorado, I came upon a lost verse someone had penned on a light post. (note to potential hitchhikers, never be without your magic marker.) Here it is, ahem. Dear Abbey dear Abbey My feet are frozen cigarettes are gone ten thousand cars no one has heard and every damn one has flipped me the bird.
The first John Prine song I was turned on to, since I have became a big J.P. fan and to think I find that I lived 75 miles away from him! wow was I disappointed to know that.
The first time I saw John Prine , Bill and Taffy Danoff opened for him. The second time John Lee Hooker opened the show. A guy sitting behind me wanted to here "Dear Abby" and yelled out Dear Abby before every song. Finally, John sang "Dear Abby" and the guy immediately yelled out Dear Abby. We all busted out laughing. It's been over 40 years and I remember it like it was yesterday . John's the best, and I wish him the best. I look forward to his new book. I've heard so many story's over the years and I'm sure the book will cause them to flood back in!

That's me saying 'Yeah!' after John says 'Italy'.
New Paltz, NY circa 1973.
My 1st record...
Bet he didn't give you writers credit for saying that.
That was you? I thought so!
It makes it.

John Prine - Dear Abby (Live)
Lyrics
Dear Abby, dear Abby
My feet are too long
My hair's falling out and my rights are all wrong
My friends they all tell me that I've no friends at all
Won't you write me a letter, won't you give me a call
Signed bewildered
Bewildered, bewildered
You have no complaint
You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't
So listen up buster, and listen up good
Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood
Dear Abby, dear Abby
My fountain pen leaks
My wife hollers at me and my kids are all freaks
Every side I get up on is the wrong side of bed
If it weren't so expensive I'd wish I were dead
Signed unhappy
Unhappy, unhappy
You have no complaint
You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't
So listen up buster, and listen up good
Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood
Dear Abby, dear Abby

Dear Abby, dear Abby
You won't believe this
But my stomach makes noises whenever I kiss
My girlfriend tells me it's all in my head
But my stomach tells me to write you instead

You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't
So listen up buster, and listen up good

That me and my girlfriend would ever get caught
We were sitting in the back seat just shooting the breeze
With her hair up in curlers and her pants to her knees

Just married just married
You have no complaint
You are what your are and you ain't what you ain't
So listen up buster, and listen up good
Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood
Signed dear Abby
It is absolutely the best version. I loved it on the album, but he really makes it personal here! :-)
Saw him at the Power Center in Ann Arbor decades ago -- amazing show. Prine is the king of both silly and poignant songs.
I used to sing John Prine songs out loud while wearing earphones at work at RCBE, driving others trying to work in their cubicles crazy.
John is the man.
love this man still!!!
RIP John.....😢

Such a part of mine and my husband's dating years and marriage. My heart is sad.
