@@no.402 I didn't play Infernal Machine yet, but also heard it's one of the best. Will try Infernal Machine on PC and emulated N64 soon. Nice addon for my Batocera and RetroBat collections. Most people nowadays checking out old games shouldn't be fooled about old graphics (thinking it's a bad game), when the gameplay itself has much more to offer than newer games. (hints to Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Elite Force 1+2, NOLF 1+2, SiN Gold, f.e.). Did you guys make the Emperor's Tomb PC version run on Win 10 22H2 or do you just play it on old Windows versions? I did try literally every version of IJ ET PC version I could find, but it crashes once you reach the throne. It crashes even earlier, if you don't apply the 30 FPS unlock. Some people wrote that with 60 FPS unlock one level may be unbeatable where you have to swim. dgVoodoo2 didn't help me this time (it did in almost any other old games). WINE on windows mod for ET didn't work for me neither. On WinXP it worked good many years ago. I'll setup such a retro machine again later, because of EAX 3-5 hardware sound alone. So that's not a problem. Well, I didn't try Emperor's Tomb on Linux w/ WINE. I also have an old eMac CRT, which should be able to run Emperor's Tomb, at least on low res. But for now I'm happy with the emulated PS2 version, being almost the same. On PS2 emulation IJ ET runs pretty good w/ Vulkan and 3x res (about FullHD), but stutters a bit to run at constant 60 FPS on a GT 1030 GDDR5 w/ i5-3570 in my HTPC potato PC, just FYI. Running at fluid 2x res instead or using 30 FPS locks helps ofc. I also tried Shadow of the Colossus and Ico emulated in PCSX2 v2.x, runs pretty well w/ Vulkan API and 2-3x res nowadays, but struggled only some years ago on even 1x res on high end PCs (Xeon + GTX 960 f.e.) and w/o Vulkan API. PCSX2 made huuuge steps in the last years. Just FYI. Thx for this video! It's nice to see a (nearly complete) overview of the IJ games history. It's very nice to also see the Java versions. I almost totally forgot about Java and Flash games. Feels a bit like Super Mario ;) not bad games actually. Should run w/ both Batocera Linux and RetroBat, f.e. in a most easy way, even creating an IJ collection / folder including all games we can run on PC w/ emulation. Because I checked my IJ collection and found out that the IJ GOG version of Emperor's Tomb crashes on Win 10 22H2 once you see the throne (I tried all kind of IJ ET PC versions on Win 10 22H2 which I could find, even dgVoodoo2, but found no way to make it work. Also the WINE in Windows variant didn't work on my PC). I did play IJ ET PC version on WinXP back then, which was no problem. Well I didn't try IJ ET in Linux nor Batocera Linux w/ WINE nor WinPE live yet, which I think should work. But I found that the Emperor's Tomb PS2 version works very well nowadays, emulated on PC w/ 3x resolution, f.e. In a way that I think I don't need the PC version (despite it needs more CPU than PC version and 1080p or higher res may struggle 60 FPS on low end PCs. Maybe I'll try the PC version on Linux /w WINE. I then checked out other versions for PS2/PSP esp., which nowadays are very easy to emulate using multi res quality even on a potato PC and found out that the Staff of Kings is completely different on PS2 and PSP. It's actually two different games, just FYI. (Reminds me of different versions of Aladdin on Sega MD aka Sega Genesis / DOS and the completely different Aladdin game one on SNES). I'll add those IJ games in my Batocera Linux and RetroBat collections, both running portable on PC per USB-SSD/HDD. Thx for showing these versions, esp. the Java versions. There's some really nice ones, also with Tomb Raider and Star Wars. There even might be some Flash games which run with Batocera and/or RetroBat through a Web Browser or Flash Player. 2024 was a good year for us: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered...yeah! Finally some really good adventure games arrive on PC again. Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered also arrived shortly, yeaaaah! (Tomb Raider 3 GOG did crash on my Win 10 22h2, has no good OOTB gamepad use, but the Remastered Tomb Raider 1-3 version works, has all addons included and even has gamepad support + old/new graphics switchable on the fly like we have on the Star Wars Remastered Point and Click Adventure games). Now we only need IJ and the Emperor's Tomb PC Remastered and NOLF 1+2 Remastered, if those don't run on Win 10/11 w/ all tricks or just because of newer graphics and gamepad support. And Tenchu PS versions, Red Ninja and such games ofc. Good Adventure games and Thinker shooters are kinda rare.
Tried IJET on Win 10 again with original CDs + NoCD, installed to c:\... which worked. W/o NoCD it doesn't even start, I guess because old copy protection is ignored by Win 10. Uninstalled it afterwards, re-tried the GOG version, installed on c:\gog games\IJET this time, which worked. Uninstalled, tried the GOG version on r:\ which I did 1st some days ago (my dynamic RAMdrive using imdisk, which failed). So either IJET indy.exe doesn't like starting from r:\ instead of c:\ or doesn't like dynamic RAMdrive or maybe not even static RAMdrive (I didn't test further). Interesting see, because many other games I tested ran from r:\gog games\ (6 GB dynamic RAMdrive here taken from my 16 GB RAM). I usually test that because it installs and runs faster, but not for IJET, lol. Well, I also installed to r:\, which failed, then copied the folder to c:\, which worked.
