alien isolation was by far the best alien game we got. in my opinion alien isolation was not even the best alien game for me, but the best horror game all together!
@@JC-kl3uc A lot of chromatic aberration and shadows to cover up flaws, and most of the game being essentially a series of corridors mean that you can devote all that horsepower to small tight spaces. Pretty brilliant, all in all.

Only a true fan of Alien would play all these games and complete them, so good luck to you all who share the same love for the Alien franchise like me. Happy Alien Day!
4:51 Alien Trilogy (1996). My uncle (my mother's oldest brother) used to play this game on PS1 during Christmas break in 1998. The best thing was that my cousins, mother and father, aunt, my other uncle, and I sat in the living room watching my uncle play. Unfortunately, my uncle is no longer around. I do miss watching him playing video games when I was a kid.
I actually like Colonial Marines. It could & SHOULD have been better, but frankly, the things it got right it did better than previous games. I had always wanted a marine squad based game where you are actually part of a marine team. The AvP games never bothered to even try. In AvP 2, you were always cut off from them very quickly, even though I remember reading previews at the time saying that you would be part of a team like in the movie. Boy, was I disappointed when the start of the game the entrance to the facility conveniently caved in only after you entered. That set the tone for the rest of the game. AvP 2010 always had other marines die off very quickly. At least AvP2 had bothered to try to create characters in the marine campaign. It was also great in Colonial Marines that the motion tracker was something you had to bring out & hold, instead of the generic on screen radar. Alien Isolation showed that the idea could work. The movie level locations are really good & do capture the ambiance & feel of Cameron's movie, like the blueish hue, the rain, & sound effects. That first part of going into the remains of Hadley's Hope with the near silence was very well done, they even had a small near quiet cue from the movies too. The A.I. while problematic, I didn't have as many problems as other people had. I'm not saying they didn't exist, but I have also seen far worse A.I. that gets a free pass. I also had a blast playing as movie characters in multiplayer, especially on Escape Mode (which most accurately captured the frantic feeling of the movie, but unfortunately, alien players tended to be very cheap with that burster crap. It should have been a co-op experience). Bug Hunt, also a great mode (especially the accurate Hadley''s Hope map), is still very long to complete. AvP from 1999, while I loved as a kid, is extremely dated & near unplayable today. Hordes of aliens keep showing up & it just gets annoying. You also can't manually reload, which is a load of crap if you have only a few clips & you don't want to waste ammo. The infamous glitch in ACM where aliens are stuck in environments is very frequent in this game as well, but it gets a free pass. I also liked how you could place sentry turrets in ACM, which you couldn't do in past games. Although it does get flack for having a lot of human enemies, it honestly evens out compared to the marine campaign in AvP 2010. What I mean is, that there are 5 marine levels in that game, & from about the middle of mission 3 until near the end of the game, you end up fighting a lot of cheesy generic robots that self destruct. Comparatively, ACM is roughly equal when you stretch it to 10 levels. Even the beloved AvP 2, which I didn't care for, has you being captured & having to kill human enemies which goes on until near the end of the game as well. I'm not saying ACM was perfect, but I do think it does deserve some credit for certain things & is better than its reputation. I have never bought a Gearbox game since then after they embezzled Sega's funding, which Borderlands lovers STILL justify. I have also enjoyed Fire Team Elite, but its also not my ideal Aliens game. I'd still prefer a serious game that took the concept Colonial Marines had, but did it properly. FTE is really arcadey, & its fun, but it doesn't really capture the feel of Cameron's film. I also am very tired of this Ridley Hack love fest with half the game focused on his prequel inspired garbage with very bland environmental designs (which is the fault of the awful films more than the game itself), & have next to nothing influenced by Cameron's film other than marines & the last mission. They couldn't even be bothered to have movie accurate maps for Horde mode based on locations from Alien, Aliens, or even Alien 3. ACM had very good movie accurate maps, so it is very disappointing they ignore the good movies & only focus on the garbage. Alien Covenant is the worst movie in the series, even worse than AvP Requiem. Still, I do enjoy FTE, but its not the kind of game I'd have liked. I am interested in this Dark Descent though. Hopefully it has a lot more Cameron inspired designs, & less Ridley Hack idiocy. Yes, we've seen so many games based on the second film, but they can still be done in new ways we've not seen. Fire Team Elite still would have been fun if the level designs were inspired by Hadley's Hope for instance. I also enjoyed Alien Blackout. I know there was a huge backlash that the first official Alien game since Isolation was a mobile game instead of a real sequel to Isolation, but I got it at a reduced price because of Alien day & I was pleasantly surprised. I found it got quite tense.
CM was great for me tied in to the movie very well the sound of the weapons going off and the music I felt like I was in the movie, the dev.. could've worked a bit more on the environments and character graphics other than that it was a solid title
For me, AvP2 was great because i really enjoyed being the Alien, although hiding was not always rewarding. I want to be able to be the alien in a good looking Alien game of today's tech.
Ahhhh, good ol' Alien Trilogy for the PS1!! Still my fave, right next to Aliens: Fireteam Elite!! The SNES & Gen ports of Alien 3 were pretty awesome, too!!
AVP was such a fun game. Great campaign, great coop, great 3-tiered multiplayer experience... Just awesome, all around. Would love for it to get remastered
The 1984 version was a killer: I played it a lot on Amstrad CPC 6128 and it was scary as hell with all those movement noises… I never succeeded in killing the goddamn xenomorph without blowing up the entire Nostromo, except for one single time when I accidentally opened an outside hatch and the alien just happened to be there, so it was sucked out in space. 100% success, it never happened again, lol! The 1986 game was cool too, sadly it was bugged (no pun intended) and it was impossible to reach the end :( Sorry for my English from outer space, I happen to be French ;)
Best ones (AVP 2000, AVP 2010, AI 2014). Hands down to AVP 2000 on PC. The alien was actually really well rendered for that time. Sound effect was good and the soundtrack was spot on. Alien Isolation still and remain the best Alien game from the franchise cause it was packed with easter egg from the 1979 movie. And the game still hold on today. It give me nightmare if I play too long in the dark. AVP2010 was a very cool MP game. And the campaing was pretty solid.
This is my personal opinion but I am hoping we get an Alien Isolation 2 that makes you Newt before and during the Aliens movie. Also another AvP Extinction type would be kinda cool.
