Metro pink line should be done on its planned route ( Barrackpore to Dunlop ) via B.T. road and after will connect Kolyani. Cause Belgharia and Sodepur area are massively congested and need immediately a metro connectivity. But if it is done via Kolyani expressway it will not helpful to take the gatherings of Sodepur-Agarpara-Belgharia's massive crowed people. That will not in proper planned work
U are playing all the cards before 15th August. By the way taking metro through Kalyani expressway will also be helpful full for Real estate business. In future it might be our NCR
Indian Fan "help full for real estate business ....." its absolutely right. why should all the facilely, speacialy the conveyance, geting the people off BT Rd & Belgharia station area ?
I support both ideas. One from sealdah to Barrackpore metro via kolkata and barranagar, and another from Noapara to Barrackpore or wireless more. Because both lines are necessary. At the time when sealdah Barrackpore metro construction will start, the government should announce for the noapara Barrackpore metro. Due to which the areas around Kalyani expressway will urbanise.
Finally a hope for sodpur residentias...because at the peak hour bording into a local from sodpur station is a difficult task like Dum Dum station at evening
Debesh Sarkar bro not every time bkp local is available... Like at the morning 7:30 am no bkp local and the train is over crowded and and at the evening after 8 pm there is no bkp local and it's like war for getting a train from Dum dum
As in 2024 it is not a bad idea to construct a line through kalyanj expressway beachse the whole expressway is now six laned and manh real estates development are taking place...also at kalyani the AIIMS is now ploperational so it can acquire more passengers for this route.
The plan through Kalyani expressway is better and far sighted. It will lead to development of the area and not cannibalize rail traffic on bt road. The suburban network should be improved to serve bt road catchment areas better.
but if the metro will be with kalyani express way then how the people living near bt road will catch the metro. my request to metro rail blog to built metro with bt road and send many videos of line 5
Metro connectivity till Barrackpore and eventually further till Kalyani through kyi expway would be hassle free, both in terms of time and money. As an airport is being planned in Kalyani, so, according to the Airport Authority of India norms, the Airport has to have a metro connectivity. Moreover, integrated feeder services can be operated from important places on the BT Road to the nearest metro station parallel to it on the Kalyani Expway (BT Road and Kyi Expway are just 2-3 kms apart all through out)....makes sense?
If metro railway developed through kalyani it will be a 'white elephant project' just like in Jaipur.Major population of Belgharia & bt road will not benefit from this project & it would ultimately be failed project because of insufficient earnings through ticket sale
What you are saying is absolutely right, but there are several things that may be you don't know about. first most of the lands along side the Kalyani express way are taken over by several cheat funds i.e himangini, and a case has been filed against them, second there are too many lands occupied by several small industries along side the road, two buses are running every day on this route i.e S10 and MM3 that too 1 in every hour. and also it plays empty most of the time, now coming to Brrackpore via BT road, its extremely congested, more and more high rises (more than 20 floor) are being built every day along side the BT road, connectivity is the worst, not too many busses are there, mostly affected people are the office goers, too many traffic jams, and all, if the metro goes through the Kalyani road it will be a mess like Jaipur metro maybe even more, if they can built the metro through the BT road it will be a huge relief for the office goers and common people, and third our state govt is not even sure about the Kalyani airport, and in case in future if they able to make the airport in Kalyani then they can make another metro line through out the Kalyani express way with an interchange to Brrackpore metro at wireless gate that can even go up to Barasat as per govt plan to connect Brrackpore Barasat by metro.
West Bengal actually needs a circular form of Metro to boost its productivity. The major points should be carefully noted and metro should be connected accordingly. For eg - Dankuni should be our Industrial Hub where workers are feeded to it by Metro connecting to nearest Junctions like Dankuni/Sheouraphuli. Newtown is already connected with metro which is the IT sector. Howrah and Barrackpore should be connected for office workers as it is more of a residential area. Kalyani should be the Educational Hub compromising of world class schools. Kalyani is quite important as the people travelling in Local trains from Bandel could take a train to Naihati and then take the metro to reach Salt Lake in an hour. I believe we must put up these ideas in a tailored way to the government. And plz don't say it won't work before you even try it

Make Current railway better, eliminate level crossing, fence the track, install ticket checking machine at the station entrance, use CBTCS , run more train and AC train, it would be better than constructing a metro in BT road, and make metro in Kalyani expressway.
But I highly doubt it's effectiveness to solve the crowd matter. Too less people are likely to take that route and people will rather opt for the Dakshineswar-Dunlop-Noapara route. Dunlop is the golden junction of northern suburb. Moving away from Dunlop to the disgusting Noapara which is located in a worse place than an underdeveloped Village will be a pathetic wastage.
After 2 year from the creation of the Vide I'm again commenting! Now Kalyani express way & Belgharia Expressway is going to be connected vai Bridge....if it follows this route then it is possible to made Metro rail via bridge!
Logically speaking you are trying to avoid a place where betterment of urban transport is needed and develop an area where people don't suffer the pain..

I see the hand of nemesis the Greek God of retribution east west was stuck at duttabad a length of 365/meter whereas at rajib nagar it was 350/meter on the dakhineshwar stretch!
connectivity is already available to the people residing along the kalyani highway via kalyani highway itself.. so what is the logic behind constructing a metro line over rural area.. along the left side of sealdah main line most of the population live and they do not have good connectivity.. bengal govt at any cost must build bridges at atleast barrackpore and shyamnagar at the earliest to connect with hooghly region and construct the metro at left side only..as metro is supposed to cater to busiest area not the farmlands and baganbaaris.. this pipeline thing should be handled carefully but metro should only be built throught bt road
What about last mile connectivity for those who live near bt road will be far away. What is the point of having future assumptions without solving present issues of highly papulated area near Sodepur. Metro must be through bt road and for pipeline issues cantileever technology can be used for spaces required.
Tanumay Bandopadhyaya Apparently, the State Govt has agreed to provide feeder buses from densely populated BT Rd regions to the Metro along Kalyani ExpWay, and according to them this method would be way more economical, quicker and efficient way to connect the people dwelling in the northern suburbs with Metro instead of the hectic method of shifting pipelines along the congested BT Road stretch. Everyone is perhaps familiar what has been the condition of the ever-congested Diamond Harbour road for the last several years, the State Govt probably wants to avoid another such fiasco with the BT road. And for the betterment of the road itself, the State Govt is already calling for tenders for converting the entire stretch of BT Road into a 6-lane corridor upto Dunlop, where the road would continue as a 6-laned elevated corridor all the way upto Rajabazar/Sealdah. This way people of Barrackpore travelling to the heart of the city would take only about 35-40 minutes by road. But this construction will take at least about 5 years time. The State Govt meanwhile wants the Metro construction to commence till Barrackpore, via the Kalyani ExpWay.
Yes, there should be atleast another road bridge between the nearly - 45 km gap from Vivekananda Setu at Bally-Dakshineswar, to Ishwar Gupta Setu at Tribeni-Kalyani. Best is, at the place where all 4 suburban mainroads and highways come closest - the Sheoraphuli/Shrirampur - Barrackpore stretch. Here, all the roads like Delhi Road, Grand Trunk Road, Barrackpore Trunk Road and Kalyani Expressway are very closer, with the Hooghly river in between.

I have lost all hopes for barrackpore metro bcoz unlike delhi development happens only in proper kolkata not the suburbs.... I really wish bkp gets metro soon.
