Your videos are great. It's cool to see how much effort you put into the quality of video, not just your work. By far the best quality woodworking videos I've seen yet from a video standpoint.
Never hurts to ask!! Great vid. I’ve owned mine for about 3 years and I rarely use my miter saw now. I leave mine on my table saw. But, I like how you’ve hung it. Definitely a project for this weekend!
I love my 5000. Funny thing is I purchased it before I even got my table saw. Had it for 3 weeks sitting on my kitchen table trying to decide which saw to get. Sadly I just found your channel and its awesome.
Super, super video production. Really like how you put it all together, the close-in shots, the excellent video quality, the music, and story, the passion. You have a real talent that goes far beyond woodworking. Bravo!
The music choice at 5:38 is exactly what I was saying in my head. When it started playing I started laughing. Great job. I think this is my next purchase after I get my TS/LS fence all set up. Looking forward to more from you. Great job.
Ok, I just watched this for the second time! I’m sold! Rockler currently has a 15% coupon which is valid on Incra, so this is a no brainer! Thanks for a great video and review!
I just watched this again. I bought a 5000 about three years ago for use with my old Delta table saw. I now have a Sawstop and the 'drop panel' for the 5000 is too narrow. I found that I could purchase a new drop panel for $39.99 from Incra. I should have it early next week and my 5000 will be back in business. I used it anyway last weekend for a project for my wife's sales booth. I love it.
you're a little humble by calling this your hobby. I have a bunch of Incra products as well, but i suck at making youtube videos. and suck at woodworking. i enjoy working on kumiko projects. keep up the good work. I'm a little late to your video, but I still ran across it and enjoyed the video. LOL I also hugged my incra boxes when they came in.
Just ordered one of these for my shop this morning. My RUclips search led me to this video and your channel. Subbed. Excited to get this into my shop and take it for a test drive. Thanks for the great video.
Hey glad to find this. I know its old but thought id reach out. Current thoughts after having it for 5 yrs?. What is the purpose of the other part of the sled being cut off? Not used to seeing that.
Hi. I was wondering: At the end of your video, where you made your custom rack, how did you attach the pegs for hanging. Did you screw them in or glue em on? What size did you opt for? I'd like to make one just like it for my shed. Thanks!
You need to add 5000 to your title! I watched all sorts of sled videos for a couple of days before Utoob finally got this one into my search results. 😏 And yours showed me the detail I'd been looking for. Thanks.
You are one lucky dude! I realized a long time ago that stuff like that never happens to me. So instead i just try working a lil more, trying a little harder to save. And although it doesn't work for all my wants, or needs. I just have to figure out a way to get along with what i do have. But, i am very happy for you. I laughed so hard when you layed your face down on the box. Lol that is sooo what i would have done. Us woodworkers and our tools. We turn into 7 year old boys on Christmas morning. 😊 congrats again! And glad too see you back with a little more steady content. Keep up the videos bud.
I just purchased the 1000HD and the sled. I'm hoping to be able to make segmented bowls using the 1000HD. Wondering what the difference between your 5000 and the 1000HD is?
I just got the incra 5000 a few weeks ago. Man that thing rocks! I have it set up on a ridged 4512 saw. I see you have yours set up on the left side of the blade. Is your saw a left tilt? If I read the instructions right shouldn't it be set up on the right side for a left tilt? I personally would like it set up on the left. Could you do a set up video and explain how you set it up and the reason you set it up on the left side of your saw?
Yup! Since Marc, The Wood Whisperer has given the 5000 an enthusiastic blessing, that thing has been on my wish list! You've just stoked that "wishing". :-)
Great vid Blake. However; I just don’t feel I need the 5000. I have the whole LSTS system, Incra 3000 miter gage, router, clean sweep, I have the I-Box and fix’s to get the Hingecrafter kits and spend the money on it. Neil and Mark are great... I have the rulers too. Keep the faith....
Yeah I see a Dewalt planer there, so how do you like it? I have a 12” Shopsmith I’ve had since the early 80’s and the one thing I hate about it is that adjusting the cut is by the table and not the cutter head, very annoying so I’m considering selling it and getting the Dewalt
Hey Blake, I hope that you are doing well. Fantastic video! I recently purchased the sled and have been pleased thus far. I have noticed that I still have a small bit of play in the sled after initial setup? Did you encounter such problem?
Theodore Rysz III no I don’t remember experiencing that but their customer service is really good, they are all in Texas and they are real people that actually work for the company when you call.
Would love to have you do a follow up vid on this Sled, i've had mine for a while but just noticed today I must have bumped it out of alignment, would love to see how its working out for you, how you're keep it in alignment, tips and tricks. I've been meaning to cut out a few extra pieces of MDF for backer since there's always a bit of tear out on this over a conventional sled.
Isn’t having the fence and stop on one side of the blade only a bit of a shortcoming? For example, if you want to cut short segments from a long piece, it would be useful if the stop was on the other side. Not sure how you could do that with adjustable mitre gauges. Sacrificial fences maybe, but then how to use the incremental stop on the othe side?
It was very nice of Incra to send you these new "toys". I'm a huge fan of Incra - - great quality and accuracy. I've purchased several Incra pieces based on video use and reviews on their products. Typically, there are very few negative comments on the Incra products. I'm a believer! You have to give the IBox and Hingecrafter a try. Both are fantastic products which I love. Perhaps you can "ping" Incra to send you both of these. There is definitely a lack of good project videos on the use of these. I believe you could provide some great vids on both of these products. Thanks for your Video!
Just bought a "new to me" Ridgid 3650 that has a Miter 5000 with it. I'm so excited and have been finding reasons to cut right now. 90 degree cuts are so accurate and repeatable, but when I need to miter at 45 degrees, the fence crosses the blade path. I saw that you have the fence close to zero clearance as well, so what do you do when you miter? Do you re-calibrate when you go back to 90 degree cuts?
Matt LaCarra yes you do have to move the fence when you change the angle. Calibrating the ruler on the fence to zero out at the blade doesn’t make much sense here. I don’t use it that way. It’s more of a relative measurement for repeatable cuts.
Kevin Thomas cool! I never thought about it as an option. To me left of the blade seems like the only correct way but maybe just because I’m right handed.
I've had this sled for many years and love it. My sled is set up like yours, off cuts on the right. I just purchased a SawStop so I need to replace the off cut panel. My question is, since the saws table is longer on the right side should I leave the sled the same or reverse the set up. It can be set up either way. I'm very used to it the way it is but will it perform better the other way is what I guess I'm asking?
Yes I think you can set it up however you want to. I would contact Incra though, they have excellent customer service and like chatting with woodworkers about their product usage.
Wow, you put out one heck of a quality video. I too am an Incra Freak, and almost everything in my shop is Incra equipped. I have had many conversations with Perry McDaniel. He has tried talking me into teaching, but so far I've avoided it. I sure wish I would have thought of your approach. Way to go. I'm in the Incra Site Gallery "John from California". I look forward to seeing many more videos.
So I have one, and am getting ready to set it up.. in the instructions, it talks about setting to the left or right of the blade, depending on blade tilt. do you tilt the blade for any type of other miter cuts, or do you use your miter table for those.. I am just trying to figure out if I should do what the instructions say or set it for the left hand side, as I have always used a miter gauge on the eft.. looking for opinions. thanks.
I'm not in the shop so I don't have the measurements on me at this time but there are several different models in different sizes. There is a version to fit just about everybody's needs. Check out all the specks on their website: incrementaltools.com
Hello Blake, looking to get the Miter 5000 - great video. As I have a small shop, I will be looking to hang up the sled as you have. How do you keep the Miter gauge from falling when it is hung up? Thanks Steve
Cool, I have all those Incra tool's and more.I just finished putting together my Incra router table with all the extras . Incra is all I buy if they have what I need . But they are much better if they are free. Thanks for sharing.
I've watched a lot of Incra miter sled vids. Does anyone clamp their work piece to something sacrificial underneath so the cut doesn't chip the surface of the work piece? This video and others always shows the piece being cut floating through the air through the blade with an inch gap underneath it. This is no worse than cutting without a sled, but usually home made sleds are run through the blade so they are almost zero tolerance between the sled and the blade?
Blake, I’m finally getting around to setting up my sled. My Sawstop blade tilts to the left. Incra says I should use the right side miter slot. Does it matter?
I have a table saw that the blade tilts left on and I put the main sled in the right slot, cause Incra said to...and it works great set up like that--Incra told me if I wanted to cut some pieces with the blade tilted I should buy another cutoff sled and use that for the tilted blade cuts!
I am from South Africa, also do woodworking as a hobby, I get my Incra combo set this Friday, cant wait. I will also purchase the whole table saw fence setup and I-Box. Our money is very poor to the dollar, but incra is so great. I like your videos very much thanks.
Blake, really like your shop. I have nearly an exact floor plan in my one Car garage. I’ve watched your Shop tour video many times, because I want to set up my wood shop like you have. I’m feeling a little stuck regarding how to get started with the process. Could you help / educate me? I also share the laundry facilities in my garage. Any help is greatly appreciated. I truly love watching your videos. Enjoy your new tools! Incra is fortune to have your support.
have you figured out how to mount a stop block to the cutoff sled? I need a stop block to set my stock to specific lengths for segments I wish to cut on my table saw. Thanks for any input
Okay you had me when you cuddled the box. its nice to get something back especially when you have obviously spent a lot of your hard earned dough with them. BTW i hate you because I want one now lol
I would love to see a vid on your table saw fence. Pros, cons and whatnots. I’ve been looking for a better fence and like you, I prefer infra tools. Looking forward to it :-)
I too would love to see an in depth video on the fence. I have the TS-LS system, but due to real life getting in the way, have yet to really use it. Love watching what that thing can do.
@@weberwoodshop How did you do it? To me, it doesn't seem like it will work for a miter gauge. I mean, the far end of the fence (closest to the blade) is not the pivot point like with a regular sled. So, with a regular sled, when you move the other end of the fence, either up or back, the opposite end (closest to the blade) does not move because it is the pivot point. With the miter gauge when you adjust the far end of the fence doesn't the other end (opposite end) also move since the pivot point is not at the very end? It's on the miter gauge, a few inches away from the end of the fence. I would like to use the 5 cut method but I don't understand how it will work with a miter gauge. Can you help?
How do you fine tune it to 90°? After doing the the 5 cut method mine was off but all adjustments are course and I have yet to land on a precise square. Couldn't find any RUclips tutorials that explain it as of yet... Thanks
I am building a new house with a Woodshop attached. It’ll be 23 x 15’. I see that you use Incra products with your tablesaw. Is the frame that is attached to tablesaw all part of Incra ? If so, what exactly are the parts. I’m interested in the Router table and how it all is attached. Any help you can give would be appreciated. John
Really nice. I am going to hold off purchasing this until I upgrade my table saw. Nice job on the video! You going to come up to the Bay Area Makers Faire this weekend?
Sonny Pittman I’ve put the dovetails aside for now, too many other projects that I need to push out. Maybe I’ll swing back around to them in the fall or winter.
It's been 9 months now I'm wondering if you have given any opinions, thoughts or ideas on the system in one of your other videos or if you have an upcoming video describing your experiences with this system.
I’m very embarrassed to ask this question......but What is the purpose for sled? Is it mainly the benefit of clamping stuff down? That thing is sexy as hell and I want an excuse to have one!
That's awesome that would be my first choice I would love to have that miter sled he'll wish I had a table saw big enough to be able to use it and a place where I could set up
Lucky for you but if you do not ask you not receive. It's a small gift for the amount of money that you've spent and you will appreciate it HAPPY WOODWORKING mate

Crackerjack the DW is a great machine.
I had a lot of parts left over when I got done setting my 5000 up! I’m like what’s this for? What’s that for? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too
Great video, Congratulations on the new up grade and best yet FREE!, INCRA could not have made a better advertisement, now I want one.
Hey Blake, I hope that you are doing well. Fantastic video! I recently purchased the sled and have been pleased thus far. I have noticed that I still have a small bit of play in the sled after initial setup? Did you encounter such problem?

It's adjustable. That play can go away.
the toilet bowl with wing nut idea is great. until i one day upgrade... running to hardware store now... thanks for the great tips...
Perfect! You might need that router bit for the T slots though. Its a great and simple system that I've used for years.
Would you say this is the BEST crosscut sled you can buy? I want something awesome for my new Sawstop PCS.
YES
Isn’t having the fence and stop on one side of the blade only a bit of a shortcoming? No its not a shortcoming.
Because of this video, I bought the set up..very happy I did!
MajDogMeat awesome glad to hear that!

Yes, I've loved everything I own from Incra. They actually already sent me the iBox, just haven't opened it yet ;)
This is not a sponsored infomercial 😆 thanks for the review, now I’m getting one 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Is there a way to fasten the miter further back on the sled so you can cut and support deeper sheets of ply.
This video is gonna cost me money. LoL You do great work. Enjoy watching your videos!
Lol thanks!
Hi, I have a small workshop as well and was wondering what table saw you use as I’m trying to find a decent compact saw.
Regards Ian
Its an old saw that was discontinued. I bought it used.
So mine arrived today. Trying to decide it want to make it left or right side of the blade. I have saw stop 3hp. Thoughts?
Kevin Thomas cool! I never thought about it as an option. To me left of the blade seems like the only correct way but maybe just because I’m right handed.
I've had this sled for many years and love it. My sled is set up like yours, off cuts on the right. I just purchased a SawStop so I need to replace the off cut panel. i have a sawstop which blad tilts to the left do you recommend using it on the right side or stay left?

I do not tilt the blade when I use it because I don’t want to cut a bevel in the sliding table but you can if you want to.
thanks for the reply it helps.
What is the max length for making a crosscut using the sled ? And what is the max length you can set the stop ? Thanks, Eric

Hello Blake, looking to get the Miter 5000 - great video. As I have a small shop, I will be looking to hang up the sled as you have. How do you keep the Miter gauge from falling when it is hung up?
Thanks

Steve I the miter gauge is locked with three screws, so it won’t move :-)
It’s all connected together.
Do you have a video on your incra table saw fence? Specifically, setup and use.

I think you mentioned it took you about an hour to set it up... is that including zeroing it in to your saw?
Daniel Kirkhart yes that part is pretty straightforward and I tuned up my table saw recently which helped.
Love your vids! Maybe you can do a give away with your "old" incra tools. Wink wink
The Swedish Hand I might just do that ;)
When a company sends you $700 worth of tools for free they ARE sponsoring you.
Ali Maleki you’re welcome to call it whatever you want. I’m just telling the story of what happened.

SuperWingman69 keep an eye out for tools on Craigslist and do your research so you don’t get suckered. I built my collection up over many years.
have you figured out how to mount a stop block to the cutoff sled? I need a stop block to set my stock to specific lengths for segments I wish to cut on my table saw.
Thanks for any input
Don Davis it’s integrated into the system.
Actually it has 2 of them so you can double your pleasure.

I really want an incra jig! Great video Blake!
Mark's Gourmet Workshop thanks! They are pretty awesome.
How was it aligning it to your saw, did you have to do the 4 cut test with it ?
Jon Singh yes I did the 5-cut method.
Thanks
S Bearden it has precision adjustment built into it as well.
Awesome dude, what an amazing product. Great video. 👍
Andrew Delane thanks!
I am building a new house with a Woodshop attached. It’ll be
23 x 15’. I see that you use Incra products with your tablesaw. Is the frame
that is attached to tablesaw all part of Incra ? If so, what exactly are the
parts. I’m interested in the Router table and how it all is attached. Any help
you can give would be appreciated.
John
Yes it the Incra table saw fence system. Check it out on their website its awesome!
About the large red panels: are the panels (utility panel and drop off panel) made of mdf?
Hank Hall yes it’s MDF in the core but covered with a hard plastic laminate on both faces.
Great score and good video. Looking forward to seeing more use of the sled.
fcschoenthal oh you definitely will. Thanks!
Great video! Thanks for producing.
Thanks!
Really nice. I am going to hold off purchasing this until I upgrade my table saw. Nice job on the video! You going to come up to the Bay Area Makers Faire this weekend?
I didn't make it but maybe next year.
Would it be overkill to try to use this with a (Sawstop) jobsite sized saw?
No.
@@weberwoodshop Do tell
Wow! I now have a reason to start a RUclips channel!..free tools 👍 yahhhhh! Thanks Weber!
Btw, how goes the dovetails?
Sonny Pittman I’ve put the dovetails aside for now, too many other projects that I need to push out. Maybe I’ll swing back around to them in the fall or winter.
It's been 9 months now I'm wondering if you have given any opinions, thoughts or ideas on the system in one of your other videos or if you have an upcoming video describing your experiences with this system.
Tantalin sorry for the delay... I don’t really do formal review videos but I can tell you I absolutely love it.
What could be done if the saw did not have a way (track) to the left of the blade?
You would set it up the other way I guess
Great video thank you!
Thank you!
I'm addicted to your videos! Is there a link I can go to, to purchase some stickers?
Woody120 Thanks!!! I’ll let you know how I’m going to distribute stickers soon in a future video.
Blake Weber thank you.
I’m very embarrassed to ask this question......but What is the purpose for sled? Is it mainly the benefit of clamping stuff down? That thing is sexy as hell and I want an excuse to have one!
Safer and more accurate.
Can you still use your dust extractor with it?
S 12345 below the table-yes. But not the overhead collection.
That's awesome that would be my first choice I would love to have that miter sled he'll wish I had a table saw big enough to be able to use it and a place where I could set up
I want free Incra stuff.......
Lucky guy, congratz.
I have the same Incra set up and yep...cost a few bucks but well worth it.
MajDogMeat thanks :)
Incra does this for any table saw?
Goran jelenić yes, you cut it to fit your saw.
I just ordered mine 🤗
Wow that thing is amazing!
Mike Tatman seriously!
Does anyone know if this sled will fit on the sawstop job site?
Will this work on old delta contractor saw model number 34-444? Thanks
Yes it should work on just about any saw.
Can that sled be used on any of the saw stop table saws?
Mike Gallagher yes! When you saw me cutting the red platform I was customizing it to my saw. That is part of the set up process.
Got it. Thanks Blake. Thats a nice setup!
@@weberwoodshop What if one gets a new table saw? Is your original customized setup now obsolete?
Mr. Ken no, you can order just the sliding table part of you get a new saw. Then you start over and make that cut again.
Where’d you score that sweet table saw?
Used, several years ago. Its discontinued by DeWalt now.
I was expecting Barry White to give a mellow tune on the merits of Incra.
John Lowe, Photographist pretty much!
Lucky for you but if you do not ask you not receive. It's a small gift for the amount of money that you've spent and you will appreciate it HAPPY WOODWORKING mate
Mark Armstrong thanks!
