Knox is back again at EICMA. As well as exhibiting on our own stand, we take a bit of time out to check out the latest new models for 2024.
The first in our series of videos from EICMA is a quick first look at the Yamaha XSR 900gp. Based on the incredible Yamaha XSR 900, the XSR900 GP takes a thoroughly modern performance naked package and harks back to the iconic racing times of Wayne Rainey and his yzr500.
I think most people will agree with us that the machine is stunning and we're certain they'll sell out in 2024.

As a 2023 XSR 900 owner, I'd add this to my garage in a heartbeat. Love it!!!!

Is this the same frame as the newer mt09? When did the xsr900 get that frame?

@@MarissaTheMuse my RD900LC cost £11000 in total, 2019 XSR bought for £7K then Hag did the kit plus suspension upgrades - worth every penny
@@rogerkay8603 so $4k total? Do you know what just the body kit parts/fairings etc would cost if I was interested in just the look and either stock or my own suspension route?
Cool retro look with modern engine.
Other manufacturers should make something like this too.

It should come with the lower fairing.
I'm from the era of Suzuki Gammas,and FZ750s...rather have it half faired opposed to a bottom faired that doesn't fit correctly...the lines are out!
Round headlight in this bike is a must!

beautiful bike. just awesome. i figured when i upgraded my ST 675R i'd just get the 765 RS but this is a STRONG contender if we get it in the U.S.

yeah i think Yamaha missed it with the R7. Ergos were just way too sporty for me for a bike that would be on the road (even though nice for track). If they make an R9 it will probably be uncomfortable, too. But this looks to be just right for a sporty position that's not too bad for the road. Similar to the Tuono, RS660, or ST 765
@@beanwithbaconmegarocket The XSR 900 GP would be for me my second bike, i was always looking for a retro bike but there is no other models which are sporty and retro, this one will be nothing for long rides, im owning a bmw 1250 gs amd this will always be my primary bike, but the retro XSR is for me more a luxury bike to take on a ride for few hours and not more.
@@BajkerRajder I think that's about right. For my garage it would be either this or a Thruxton. Something pretty to take out for a few hours but not a replacement for my track bike or my touring bike.
I did it, today i ordered a xsr 900 gp, now i am going to sleep the whole winter hoping that the spring is coming faster 😊

The sport edition cures the problem I had with the XSR 900 series of bikes. They look like a magnet drug through a parts bin. The GP is beautiful, on my list.
can anyone answer me: is the lower pairing compatible with xsr900 2022?
Why haven’t Akrapovic produced a twin silencer exhaust mimicking the 500gp racers?
with those brakes and supension and a stiffer chasis i think it could be really good on track. we'll see what MCN and those guys say when they get a chance to test it.

The full fairing is the best version. If anyone is planning to buy one, they should just pay for the whole package lol

that full fairing vversion is stunning. maybe this will push Triumph into making a full fairing version of the ST 765 RS (like an "upright daytona")

its not far in design looks away from the old TRX850 to be honest like to see them sat next to each other .
Said it before, why the boring grey/black option?It should have been available in the lovely 80's Gauloises blue [Christian Sarron] colours. That would make it far more appropriate and more relatable to the 80's.

Really needs the full fairing and the rear end just looks awful.
"THE HEADLIGHT'S LIKE, TINY.." This friends, is NOT a good thing. The current trend towards teeny-tiny LED headlights (and too often taillights), means oncoming drivers WILL NOT SEE YOU, nor will the ocean of DEER we have in the eastern US. People already don't pay attention.. It's not a matter of Candlepower, but lighting AREA.. VOLUME are critical to being seen. These twinkies will cause injuries.
