I cannot stress this enough - never put off buying a souvenir. If you see one that you think you like - buy it then and there. DO NOT WAIT! You never know which item will be the popular one that will sell out. And it may only be at that one specific stand or shop. For every person that I have met that had buyer's regret I have heard over 100 stories of people that regret not getting one.
Yes! Plus you can have it sent to your resort instead of carrying it around all day UNLESS you wait to buy merch the day or day before you check out. We learned this the hard way by waiting til the lsat day to splurge on souvenirs then had to carry all that stuff around all day through the parks, on the buses and all the way up to our room 😵💫
@@number1heatrocka287 When I buy souvenirs at WDW, I don’t carry them around all day (unless it is a small pin or something that size). I ship it to the front of the park. Then I go pick it up on my way out. This doesn’t slow me down as the throng of people exiting the park would already do that to me. Picking up packages at the entrance/exit gives me something to do instead of fighting with the masses trying to leave. Instead, I can sit down with the family for 15 minutes and we all show each other what we got. That makes it fun, and we avoid all the unnecessary stress of dealing with the mob. Additionally, I think that shipping the items to the hotel adds a level of complexity to finally obtaining the item. If they could be like our luggage and shipped directly to the rooms, then I would pay for that added utility.
Single rider lines are not for our convenience but are instead for rides that need a certain amount of roles ie Smugglers run, or big rollercoaster rides that need to weighted properly for safety
I went to Disney World about 7 years ago and absolutely abused the single rider lane for expedition Everest. I think I rode about 10 times in an hour or so. It has always been one of my favorite rides and I'm dying to go back!
I’ll admit I’ve don’t that too. It’s a fun one and my husband doesn’t do coasters. He had a headache so found a shady place to sit and I rode it 7 times in a row as a single rider. Fun fact: on our first trip there I found the single rider line for Everest. Good amount of folks a head of me. Apparently the people in front of me were a group like 20 of them. The cast members noticed this and noticed me quietly standing alone. They let the group now that yes they can do this but only one would get on per coaster ride. They got upset over that. The cast member then asked “do we have anyone in our single rider line that’s actually solo? Maybe you have family waiting for you because they can’t ride for health reasons, small kids or just don’t do coasters! “ I threw my hand up. So did people behind me. Well…. myself and 2 behind me got to go ahead on that coaster waiting. The cast members may have been in the wrong but I was great full. It was my first trip and first time riding.
You should really make a video (or even a series of videos!) about accessibility in Disney for disabled people. It gets a brief mention here or there but not enough to really get the full picture, especially when planning ahead is often even more important for disabled people than everyone else. 1/4 Americans live with a disability, so it's definitely something that should be addressed on a channel with hundreds of videos covering almost every other aspect of Disney. If it's not something your team currently has the expertise to address, there are plenty of talented disabled people you could employ to help you!
This is a tricky request. The restaurants at WDW claim to be handicap accessible, but they do not have enough room between the tables to navigate a wheelchair. Some rides like It's a Small world have ride vehicle that accept a wheelchair, but The Pirates of the Caribbean ride the person in the chair needs to transfer from his/her chair to the boat seat which is below ground level. Now for able bodied persons the second seems doable but for many chair users it is impossible. When the WDW environment is doable for the handicapped person, he/she has to deal with the other patrons. I have seen and heard people in line complain about and scold handicapped people for slowing down a line. It is even worse for people whose handicap is based on old age or mental defect. There is another problem in that between the attractions, other guests tend to ignore the handicap person's needs. Evry day that I have gone to the parks, I have seen people cut in front of a wheelchair or block its passage. Making a video is complicated. You really need to make it from the perspective of the actual handicap. What is accessible for one person's handicap may not be so for another's handicap. The parks claim to be accessible, and to a certain degree they are, but they are very far from being handicap friendly. I don't see DFB doing a video or series on this topic as it would spread too much bad light on Disney and only be helpful to a minority of people. Even though I support the idea of doing it, I don't think that DFB could do it justice as the able-bodied person does not fully appreciate the specific limitations of the various handicaps out there.
@@MightyBiffer Agreed as a nurse and parent of a child with rheumatoid arthritis. Unless they had someone guest host it is difficult to cover what is a challenge and whether the DAS pass is even helpful and what tips are necessary to transverse the parks.
I’ve been saying for years now that I want to start a channel about navigating Disney with disabilities. As someone with multiple disabilities, I know how important planning is for something as physically taxing as a Disney trip and haven’t seen many videos that go into the real specifics. In my little dream world I would like to work with reporters with different disabilities than mine to be able to cover as many perspectives as possible! It seemed like a very niche thing to have a specific channel for, but now I see that there is a demand for it, so maybe I’ll move forward! 🤔
Yes, that would be excellent. Having a group of disabled people (a power chair user, a manual wheelchair user, a mobility scooter user and someone using crutches, a blind patron, a deaf patron and an autistic person and any helpers that they may need normally) all attend the Parks and outline what their experiences are like, would be hugely helpful. Of course, it is going to highlight the aspects where WDW is lacking; limited space, whether the toilets are easily accessible and usable but that is the Point. It's a lot of money to spend anyway and in particular a lot of money for a disabled person and their travelling group to spend if the parks are designed or function in a way that doesn't fully cater to their needs. As a power wheelchair user myself, when I go out to any public venue all I'm really looking for is a place with flat access entry and routes and easily accessible and usable wheelchair suitable toilets. That might sound like a basic expectation, but you'd be surprised at how hard that is, to achieve.
Would your team ever do a “best of allergy friendly” videos by park? Really can help with families that have to really plan around this. Thanks for what you do.
This would be so great! The allergy friendly offerings often vary A LOT from the standard menu making regular go-to places not so great for the allergy conscious. Quite a few times I've come across allergy menus with only one dairy friendly offering (the plant based one), and nothing but fruit for dessert. 😒
Souvenirs: items in the different countries of Epcot can’t be found in other park gift shops or Disney Springs. I found a cup in United Kingdom that I loved, but second guessed myself. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and since I didn’t have park hopper, I couldn’t get back in to get it.
United Kingdom does have fascinating shops, especially it they offer merchandise you can't get anyplace else except from Amazon. For example, one of the UK shops offers a poster showing all of the tartans worn by Scottish clans. Try getting that from Amazon! Another shop features swords and shields. Try taking those aboard an airplane. Ain't gonna happen. The shop might ship it to your home, but I would not be surprised if the Post Office confiscated the merchandise after scanning the package and learning it contains a dangerous weapon. If I were still interested, I would rather get the shield or the tartan poster to avoid confiscation by the Post Office. Shops aside, UK offers that bandstand and nice restaurants such as the Rose and Crown pub that are right on the lake. That said, however, I just wish WDW would offer a nice 360 degree movie about the UK in one of its buildings.
@@shepwillner7507 lol what the post office isn't going to confiscate a sword if can mail firearms I sure as hell ship a sword. You can also take it aboard the plane as checked baggage.
It’s such a shame what Fastpass turned into. One of the original key factors of Fastpass was for it to be free. Mr. Disney waited in cues with his guests, one with the people, when he very well could have skipped and gone as soon as he wanted. It was in the spirit of Walt Disney that Fastpass and then Fastpass+ was originally made free, and there is nothing lost in continuing to extend the courtesy. There is, however, something sad about revoking that gift and ideaology of the founder himself just to milk people of even more money.
Here's something you should never do: pay Universal fee of $27 to park at CityWalk. Just to eat. No validation procedure . We xcled our afternoon which would have consisted of at least $200 in sales for CityWalk. Disney Spings is free to park
@@ashleebourque585 It always was free until 2021, and it worked just fine! They had limited fast passes that you booked so it was still fast, and then you could get additional fast passes if you finished your allocated ones, if someone cancelled or there was an open.
@@ashleebourque585 and FastPass wasn’t for every ride, you had to choose the rides you wanted ahead of time, and some where even out of fast pass because it’s between certain times of the day, and you could only get a certain amount each day and only at one park per day.
It depends on what the prioritization is. The old FastPass allowed people who did their research and knew how to game the system the best advantage to success, now the "+" prioritized people who were willing to pay more in order to concentrate their time in certain attractions around the park.* While the new method certainly makes more money for Disney, there's half an argument to give people who fly into Disney the ability to pay just a little more for their trip and ensure they get through all the attractions they want before they must leave, not being able to return for many years to come. *Asterisks given due to the booking system prioritizing hotel guests which was something a guest had to pay for.
Fastpass was once free for the guests and expensive for the park. They realized that making digital fastpasses would save them money. But they didn't stop there. They decided to make guests pay, completely reversing how it started.
#10 Also, please do not bring the cremated remains of your loved ones. As much as I get that your loved ones really enjoyed going to the disney park, the disney parks really dislike it when you bring your cremated remains of your loved ones. Not only it is against disney park rules, but it's against the law and will result in you getting not only kicked out of the park, but banned from the park as well. Also, the parks clean up the place every single night and they will not only sweep up your loved ones cremated remains, but will throw them in the trash. I'm pretty sure that there is better areas to deal with the cremated remains of your loved ones.
Important tip: PLEASE! Don't constantly scream "Buy my merch!" during the rides, that is super rude! Looking at that one guy who ruined a ride for everybody because he kept screaming about his merch throughout the entire ride while he was recording himself. / "If you have a souvenir you can't get out of your mind..." proceeds to show a Loungefly backpack. Yes. That! XD
4:12 Last time i went to disney, my family decided to go on slinky dog dash. I didn't feel like waiting and so decided i would check out the single rider line for the smuggler's run. I went on it 8 times in a row, in 2 hours. No wait at all.
YES to tip #9 ! I was just at Soarin’ and a group of girls recited the entire pre-show. Like we get it, you’ve seen it a million times but shhhh. It’s so rude. It also annoys me when people record rides. I’ve had this happen on Spaceship Earth and Frozen Ever After WITH flash. It’s just very inconsiderate, it ruins the magic, and they’ll probably never watch their video again. There are plenty of high quality POV’s on RUclips already.
I am one of those people video recording rides but I never used flash and I hold it in front of my chest that people behind me won’t see my cellphone. I did this for my autistic daughter who asked me to record almost every ride and she would watch the recording over and over again when we got home. I agree flash light is very inconsiderate and actually doesn’t help with picture quality.
Re: ruining the magic, I would rather hear about the Haunted Mansion's backstory from somebody who has been on the ride previously because i can't hear anything that raven says. As for the Jungle Cruise, I had a hard time hearing the skipper's talk because of the crowd's background noise. I wonder if WDW can offer to install a special screens with close-captioning on each boat so that hard of hearing people like me can understand the skippers.
I really appreciate how you said don’t spoil the ride because from personal experience it really does ruin it for you, for instance a few years ago I wen to universal studios and I had flown all the way from Australia to go and the person in front of me while I was waiting for a ride spoiled the whole story aspect of the ride for me and that really bummed me out cause I had never been before and now I new what happened, it was still fun but I felt as if the story wasn’t as cohesive anymore.
definitely do the bathroom one! my dad and i were at euro disney for my birthday and i needed relieve myself before riding the ride but i said i’d wait because the wait time was only 15 minutes. turns out those 15 minutes led to 30 minutes and i was stuck needing to use the bathroom the whole time.
Yes to not forcing kids to ride rides before they are ready. I was the kid that was crushed that I was an inch too short to ride space mountain at 4.5 and loved ever ride I rode that entire trip. We went back again like 9 years later when we were older and my parents were pumped that we would be able to ride rides as a family. They made my sister go on tower of terror (she was like 10 at the time) and it scared her so much she refused to go on any ride with any kind of drop the rest of the trip (even pirates of the Caribbean). It was not great and took her years to want to try rides like that again. Let your kids take things at their speed.
SAme thing happend to me I road barn stormer, and thought it was pretty good. And then The next day we were in animals kingdom and rode expedition everest didnt ride a ride untill i was 13 and finnally i think there fun again
Why does your channel always throw me down the rabbit hole of WDW planning for the rest of the day? I’m going in April and I swear I end up on here for hours every time I watch o e video
I’m semi-guilty of the ride magic one. I’ve ridden Haunted Mansion so many time I find myself habitually narrating along with the Ghost Host in the stretching room. But I do it quietly, sometimes whisper sometimes just lip sync. Only time I do it loud enough to be heard is when I’m listening to the Haunted Mansion CD in my car and I’m usually alone so I can be as loud as I want
Just a few weeks ago you told us that we couldn't count on merchandise being available outside the place we see them and suggested we speak to staff, see if they're available elsewhere, but I completely agree with your bathroom advice.
I had 2 different experiences in November with a kid having a breakdown on Test Track another kid on Star Tours. Both met the minimum height requirement but neither were mentally ready for the rides.
my family is taking me on a disney world trip in the late may-early june time. im watching all of these videos so i can try my best to make this the best experience possible for me and my family. my family is kinda hectic, so i’m trying my best to prepare for everything that might happen lol. thank you so much for these videos, they really help :)
I wish you good luck :) also, if you don’t have a mist fan thingy, I recommend one, if you live in Florida u know why 🥲 it’s especially good for when you are in a line that’s outside
It's not just kids; when I was 30, my own mother thought it would be funny to tell me how much I would love Tower of Terror because I love atmosphere, mystery, ghost stories, the art deco era in general...knowing full well I have PTSD and an extreme phobia of broken elevators and free falling. I had a full panic attack in the ride, gave my friend bruises on her thigh clutching her in horror...my brain shut down and I just screamed "NO!" over and over and when it ended I was shaking and sobbing. A cast member hid me in sort of a closet until I calmed down so I wouldn't upset anyone. Thanks, mom.
To be fair, everyone knows what Tower of Terror entails. I’ve never even been to Disney and I know it’s an elevator drop mechanic and it’s the entire plot of the movie lol.
I was there in October and it was easy not to buy something from the first gift shop inside the Magic Kingdom. It turned out the stuff along Main Street was wildly disappointing. I guess I was expecting a World of Disney type place and it wasn’t even close.
I discovered DFB randomly in 2018 and have probably watched every single video at this point, even though I’ve never been to Disney World. We were planning our first trip for 2020 and then of course the world sorta ended there for awhile and we decided to wait. But I have to say that going to Disney now, after all of these recent changes, just doesn’t seem much fun anymore. Between Genie+, the mobile order nonsense, fewer hotel perks, etc., I’m not sure we’re ever going to visit now. 😕
Many people (and I am one of them) have been going to Disney since 1971 and will never go again because of the changes. That said, I will also say that you can't miss what you never had and as a newbie you might like it. You need to decide for yourself.
I have never thought it was magical I think that’s utter nonsense. It is fun and I love mobile ordering. Its a vast improvement over standing in lines to order.
Book a disney cruise, it blows literally every experience Ive had with disney out of the water (hah). I'm talking Disney Aulani, Disney Polynesian, every Disney park/ride. Hell, I loved the rides but nothing was better than the cruise. Definitely geared towards adults
"It's almost I'm possible to plan a last-minute Disney vacation"- my family got the opportunity of a lifetime on Wednesday and we are now scrambling to plan everything for Saturday, the 11th the day we are leaving
Have fun! My family has done a last minute Disney trip many many times. It almost always works out. Check continuously for dining reservations, etc. It'll be wonderful!
Hmmm, so you have to decide which park to go to on which day in advance, and you have to try to get dinner reservations 60 days in advance per day per park, and then you have to make sure those two match up. How far in advance do you have to book a park day? My guess is food reservations first then park days.
I have found in the past that if you see a souvenir that you really want- get it right then & there- I have made too many mistakes to count when I decided to wait, then went back to the shop to get that item, & it was gone. The best thing to do is if you come across something you must have, ask a cast member at the shop to hold it for you. (They ahve always done that for me) Sometimes they can't, but it never hurts to ask!
Rule #1 from a life long floridian. Never, ever go during summer. Period. You'll regret it and probably wont have a good time. Extremely long wait lines all while 100 degrees and 100% humidity.
One time we waited for splash mountain for 80 minutes, then after we got off, we went to the one right by it, the train one, the wait time was 15 minutes at most before we went on splash mountain, after we got in line, after a couple of minutes, it started getting full to like 45 minutes.
For the park reservations, in HK it is compulsory, different to WDW. The 4th was fully booked the last time I went to book a reservation. I booked my visit on the 15th which should have low crowd levels as most schools aren’t off for Christmas (but my university finals end on the 13th, so this gives me an advantage). I am moving the popular Parkeology challenge from US to HK and complete all of its 15 open rides as soon as possible, which should give me a time of 3-5 hours if I go at rope drop. Update: It took me 2 hours and 43 minutes to complete all rides!
There is a minecraft server called MC parks that has recreated many theme parks entirely in blocks. They have fully working coasters complete with the audio. It might be a great way to introduce kids to coasters/dark rides since they will know what to expect before they get on. It can also preserve some of the magic since they go from a super low res version to the park's real life one. I have never been to disney, so it was my first introduction to the rides. Loved the incredicoaster, and I finally got to hear the ghost host's preshow :)
Just gonnna add something. If you have Albinism or are a red head. Aka you burn extremely easily. Find a spot in a que line that has the same line passing it again. Stay there to stay out of the sun. That if you are traveling in a party anyway. I have albinism so my last trip to Disney my Mom stayed with me in those shaded part and we just waited there for our the rest of our 9 person party to come back around. Rise of the Resistance and Frozen have good spots for shade and waiting for a line to wind back around.
It really is a shame that you have to produce so many episodes of do’s, do not’s, and maybe’s for the Disney experience, planning a holiday can be fun but once it’s booked and paid for that should be it, travel to your destination, have a brilliant holiday, go home and bore anyone and everyone with holiday snaps, stories and tacky souvenir gifts, but Disney it seems has to be planned like a military campaign or expedition to the North Pole, it’s such a pity that you can’t just turn up at Disney, buy a ticket and go in and have fun. Sorry Disney, you might have the greatest entertainment empire ever but it’s all far to complicated for the average person to REALLY enjoy without the overwhelming amount of planning.
most important number 12: never be rude to cast members! i see so many people just yelling at cast members for frequently things that are completely out of the cast members control. they create the magic for you, the least you can do for them is be kind :)
i agree most of the time with this but i just got back from my trip to disney/universal and at least 4-5 of the "cast members" i met were extremely rude to me and my family example I asked a question nicely about a ride that was changed to a member and the lady would not even look at me after she ignored me twice her only response was I can't hear you looking straight I was literally 3 feet away from her go figure 🤷🏻
@@maurinhos Maybe she couldn't actually hear you? It sounds more like you're lying then being honest. Sometimes people's ears get clogged or day after day you start to tune out some things unintentionally.
Disney does split stays wonderfully! Last July, when my 1 week at WDW-10 night cruise-1 week at WDW was changed due to 10-night cruises being forbidden, I booked the 10 days at AKL (Savannah view!!!!). My luggage was always available when I got to the new hotel (of course, I spent the day out, and went to the new hotel at check-in time).
I no longer going there. Because Disney Parks and Resorts kept jacking up prices and charging extras that we don’t expect. Also their parks and resorts that glorifies magic, witchcraft, sorcery, LGBT events, characters, attractions may be too intense and frightening guests, etc. are not good for families and Christians to visit.
10:07 THIS. If you know your kid would get scared by Haunted Mansion, doesn't like rollercoasters, or is expressing any discomfort about riding a ride, DON'T GO. Your trip will be SOOOO much better if your kid doesn't come out of a ride crying, scared, or worst of all, doesn't trust you. Please please PLEASE spare the tears and frustration, you can always get on that ride next trip.
I got in line for ROTR when it was 90 minutes, pretty good for mid December, it turned into just over 3 hours because of breakdowns. It took me three trips to Disney to finally ride it so I wasn't too upset to wait but I still got on all the other major rides and saw some shows that day. It worked out well. Take advantage of the few single rider lanes they have.
But it's just so worth it to be able to tell all your friends, neighbors, acquaintances, people on the street, your fellow co-workers and dearest relatives down to the third and fourth generation from now until you are on your death bed that... you've been there!
@@BitterBetty76 Would you at least consider a 10 minute drive on I-94 through downtown Chicago during Friday afternoon rush hour? That couldn't be any worse than spending a day at DW... or is it? 😱
I have stayed in value, moderate and deluxe resorts on my many disney trips and totally disagree that only those staying in a deluxe resort are eligible for extra hours. Every guest, no matter which resort they choose to stay in, should have the same opportunity for extra hours since all guests pay the same amount of money for their park tickets. Seems so unfair!
It’s been since 2014 since we were last there and always stayed at a value ( literally only slept and showered there stayed in parks open to close) and we had extra magic hours in the evening. When did that change to deluxe hotels only? Yeah not paying $400+ a night anywhere just to sleep and shower just to stay late in a park maybe once on a week trip.
Our family went to Disneyland Paris with my 8 year old brother. It was our first time, so all the rides were new to us. We were looking at the Hollywood tower of terror, and decided it was best my little brother waited outside with my mom while me and my dad checked out what exactly the ride was. When we entered the ride, there was a little kid with us (around my brothers age) looking frightenend. So the elevator dropped and he started crying SO BAD. I think he has PTSD from this. The action photo was funny though
since there’s no loud noise makers is safety alarms allowed? like the little keychain ones that u push a button or pull a little pin and it sounds a rly loud alarm. pepper spray definitely wouldn’t be allowed and any of the sharp safety tools wouldn’t be allowed so options for personal protection when ur alone seem very very slim. the only other thing i could think of would be the loud alarm keychains.
I find people ALWAYS sing A Pirate's Life. It's funny too, because many people don't know all the lyrics, but get right into the parts they do. At this point I feel like it's part of the experience, like a form of audience participation.
Can confirm to not buy a gift immediately once you get into the parks. I bought a $10 Simba pin and I regret it. I did wait till once we headed home and snagged a really cute Angel Plushie from Disneyland. She's so soft and adorable!!
I read that you can eat in outdoor queues, and I may be wrong, but considering how long the cars ride line is, you might be able to get a cozy cone (the ones you can eat while walking around) and eat it while you’re waiting (if you can’t do this can someone reply cause I would really like to know if this is a good or bad idea)
When it comes to Park Entrances, are there places where you can sit and wait for the park to open? My family has the tendency to arrive to parks early before opening. I do remember when I was a kid and my family went to Disney Land in 1991, Main street was accessible before the rest of the park opened. I didn't know if that was still true or not. Oh and we are able to use the Early Access since we're staying at a Resort (the Cabins at Fort Wilderness). Btw, thanks for recommending Sam's Club for Disney Gift cards. We ended up saving $6 getting them there.
For Magic Kingdom, you could wait at the transportation center but this is only convenient if you are not staying on property/took a car instead of WDW transportation. From the center, you would take the monorail or ferry over to MK and they do let people in to walk/shop on Main Street before the rest of the park opens! I am not sure about the other parks though, unfortunately.
For our family we’d always hit the park early at park open and then at 11:30 we went back to hotel and swam. Then went back late in the day. Never waited in lines.
Just a thought if you haven't covered it. What kind of handicap amenities do they have. Scooters, aids, etc. Anything that helps in the parks or hotels for handicap accessibility.
15:18 also keep in mind that it can depend on their moods, my little brother bawled his eyes out on ET at universal but absolutely LOVED Dinosaurs in animal kingdom
i have to agree with the not forcing your kids to ride certain rides. we went to ride dinosaur - which i (18 at the time) hadn’t rode before - and i was telling my little sister (10) that i would protect her and it’s just a plain dino ride not scary. needless to say we hugged and cried the entire time
Hey AJ, I love your channel. You have been a huge help in making my Family's Disney trips Perfect!! One question--can the popcorn buckets be filled with flavored popcorn? (possibly from Star Wars land). Thanks for all your hep!!
I actually saw in another video on this channel that most do participate in the refill popcorn buckets but at the Star Wars one (with the 3 flavored popcorns) doesn’t! She said they will charge you full price there😢 she said that most lands have at least one cart that will do the refill price though!
I went to Disney Hollywood December 6th, being dumb, my parents decided to only book tickets the day before we went to the park. Our original plan was to get a park hopper ticket, go to Hollywood Studios, then park hop to Magic Kingom. Ba-da bing ba-da boom, Magic Kingdom was completely booked for the past 2-ish days
The one "spoiler" line that is allowable is "There's always MY way out" chanted by everyone. (At DL at least, not sure if that's in the WDW haunted mansion)
My rule of thumb is USUALLY I don't wait more than 45 minutes for a ride anywhere. I did have to break that on my first visit with Avatar though, since it was 90 minutes like, all day and who knew when I was gonna br back, since I live in So Cal and my "home" park is Disneyland
So when it first came out me and my family waited like 2-3 hours for that Avatar souring ride… twice, still my favorite thing ever though, absolutely no regrets
I disagree with the advice of eating a big breakfast before going to the park, if you’re also going to follow the earlier advice of doing the most popular rides first. If you eat a huge breakfast and then less than 90 minutes later go on Tower of Terror or some other huge ride, you’re risking getting sick and throwing up. What I would do instead is eat light for breakfast, do those big rides first, then have your lunch and do some shows or less extreme rides for a while.
was in Hollywood Studios Tuesday. did Genie + for $15. was absolutely worth it. Got to park at 9 am, waited 60 mins., rode Rise of Res. (standby) and then used my Genie + to go through "Fast Pass" Lanes. I spend so much on coffees at Starbucks and Panera that for me, the $15. was fine - - -and very very useful. All rest of attractions were 60+ minutes and I waited 5-10 with Genie +. Will be personal choice for each of you. I will NOT do it at Animal Kingdom or Epcot, as all vloggers say "not worth it " at those two.
What i learn to combat wait times is if you use genie + you can arrange a time and ride another 1 or 2 rides even do some shopping and still make it to your appointed time as well and if you go ahead and order food after your stuff is done. You can eat right after without waiting either and just repeat this process. I've done this at every amusement park ive ever gone to that had a fast pass and while im riding every ride and show while most others would only see only a quarter of them and are super miserable from not eating. Make use of your time, if your not doing anything minus well wait on the line rather then wait on a bench. Most rides i was able to ride on using this method within a hour was 5 and that was because i saw 2 rides with no lines and the others with 2 short times because they were less busy during lunch and able to get to my appointed ride.
Oh my god I remember going to the Orlando park and did a 30 minute wait for flight of the banshee, after we got off the ride the line had a 3 hour wait. Definitely won the lottery on that one
Fun fact: when we were in line in Rise of resistance we saw a cast member in front of the bathroom area (we didn’t know that at the time) my dad made a joke that was like “are you hiding some magical Disney secrets” or something like that and then the cast member was like “nope even more fun making sure no one has an accident” and we all started laughing
Ridiculous. Pay $160 just to get in, then another $15 to maybe or maybe not get on a ride because some of them charge you on top of that for individual rides. What the hell did i pay the $160 for? This is why I have decided that Disney no longer will get my dollars. That's just naked greed by the corporation.
I stop in to get my WDW fix! I love it there and you always deliver such great content! Plsu your footage reminds me of how much I love it and miss it! Thank you!
Spoiling the Magic including being overly obnoxious. My girlfriend and I got put on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway with these two overly animated and annoying women. They kept screaming out that Minnie was mommy, started stomping their feet and dancing in their seats (where out lightsabers were laying) during the Daisy sequence, and pretty much were this way the entire ride. This was the last run of the day and it was my girlfriend's first time. I told them to please stop the stomping, and they just told me to f--- off.
Disneyland Paris is keeping the reservations even for pas holders so even for pas holders its impossible to make last minute trips. And you can’t go 365 days anymore as you pay for. Sad thing but still love Disneyland
I know what you mean. It’s super awkward to cut through the line to get to your party. For some reason my dad has to go to the bathroom when we are half way there and once he didn’t see us and Foyt to the front and waited there until my sister and I caught up with him 😂😂🤣🤣. Thankfully, people and cast members were understanding.
15:42 I was one of those kids, took me until I was like 12 or 13 to actually ride one of the big rollercoasters, but the one that I rode first (Everest) was the best one I’ve ridden
We made the mistake of NOT buying something when we saw it - this hoodie for my husband - and then they took it off the shelves a few days later and we couldn't find it. I'd rather buy it, have buyer's remorse and return it.
Souvenirs are a bit overrated. I have bought them, but I also walked away without any regret. Disney can easily build at least one more (or even two more locations) and still pack people in. Building more "parks" have not diluted the crowds; it just encouraged more people to come. Six Flags parks are far less stressful to visit because they are many parks.
I had a Thanksgiving sandwich at Disney World back in 2013. I loved it, But can’t remember the name of the place I got it. It was a sandwich shop. And I believe it was in Magic Kingdom. Would you maybe be able to tell me where I may have gotten it?
Wow dream key reservations at Disneyland have been booked for all of December for over a month now. They opened it up a couple weeks ago and it promptly sold out again. Sometimes I think they monitor how many are reserved and if a bunch of individual passes aren’t sold they take a portion of those reservations and release them for dream key. Those reservations are for sure separate at Disneyland. I’m sure it’s the same as Disney world. They try and keep the daily ticket reservations open longer for paying customers and then when it gets closer they open them to annual pass holders. They already have the annual pass money so they want to get as many individual ticket sales as they can.
lol, one time we were in New Fantasyland when the fireworks was about to start. The place was a ghost town, because everyone had headed to the front to see the projections along with the fireworks. I was exhausted, so I sat down on a bench by Gastons. One minute into the show, a guy sets up a mini tripod on top of a trash can directly in front of me. He was about 6 feet away, but he literally was blocking my entire view. Like out of the entire vacant area, he chose the one place where it would have been an inconvenience. It was dark, so maybe he didn’t notice, and a minute or two later, he did, apologized, and left, without me having to say anything. But what on earth was he filming? The show had already started, and you couldn’t even see everything.
This! You want it, buy it and don’t wait. You can always return it later.
Agreed. The cast members have even told me some are theme park exclusives and won't be sold at Disney stores or online
And note that the stores will send it to you if you don’t feel like holding it around the park!
I think there should be more attractions with a single rider line, especially Flight of Passage, Thunder Mountain and Slinky Dog Dash.
I went to the slinky ride and I was waiting for an hour
@@tex1030 that's pretty typical.
Flight of Passage is difficult because it’s not a ride that involves group seating. Single rider line would work with Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
While plastic cheese isn't for me, I really respect AJ's undying love for the stuff.
I love plastic cheese!!
MightyBiffer
Unfun fact, wheelchair users had reported that Disney’s newer rides are less accessible than their old rides
Would your team ever do a “best of allergy friendly” videos by park? Really can help with families that have to really plan around this. Thanks for what you do.
They have allergy guides on their website!
That would be great. My daughter has celiac and some gluten friendly options are for sure better than others.
This would be so great! The allergy friendly offerings often vary A LOT from the standard menu making regular go-to places not so great for the allergy conscious. Quite a few times I've come across allergy menus with only one dairy friendly offering (the plant based one), and nothing but fruit for dessert. 😒
I asked this a while back as I need to eat GF. I got a very snarky response back from DFB. Hopefully they will respond more appropriately to you.
@@sandyh8755 oh wow that’s surprising and sad to hear. Yes, my family has both GF and Dairy allergies so it can be tough.
I really wanted a Mickey waffle shirt but it’s only in Hollywood studios 😭 the pain is real
The old FastPass allowed people who did their research and knew how to game the system the best advantage to success, now the "+" prioritized people who were willing to pay more in order to concentrate their time in certain attractions around the park.*
While the new method certainly makes more money for Disney, there's half an argument to give people who fly into Disney the ability to pay just a little more for their trip and ensure they get through all the attractions they want before they must leave, not being able to return for many years to come.
I'm pretty sure that there is better areas to deal with the cremated remains of your loved ones.
damn i literally never thought of that but yeah i'm absolutely sure people have done that and will do that. crazy to think about
And they WILL see you dump them. Cameras are everywhere, no matter how slick you think you are.
I want my remains spread all over the park. However, I do not want to be cremated.
Yes. That! XD
I watch/.listen to your posts while cleaning the house. It gives me something to look forward to, even though my next Disney trip may be years away.
Me too!

Last time i went to disney, my family decided to go on slinky dog dash.
I last went to Disney 6 1/2 years ago for my 5th birthday and I loved the 7 dwarfs mine train, I did it 7 times in are 5 days at the park
Have fun! I know you will! 🥳
Really? I’m going at the same time time!
I just went for the first time so If you have any questions let me know :)
I’m going to the Disney in California as a graduation gift so I’m doing the same thing😅
@@TheWholeEntireCake I didn't know that, then I again I never watched the movie
I was there in October and it was easy not to buy something from the first gift shop inside the Magic Kingdom. It turned out the stuff along Main Street was wildly disappointing. I guess I was expecting a World of Disney type place and it wasn’t even close.
I’m going to Disney at the end of the month so I’m just like watching like every single video of yours LOL
You should go any way. I promise it's magical! Once you figure out how to mobile order it really is so convenient and easy.
It’s still worth it! I think mobile order is actually much better you just have to use it at the right time lol
It'll be wonderful!
you're there right now!!! have a BLAST and don't forget to rest and take it all in. :)
Glad to hear I am doing Disney right. Thanks for making Disney so much better for everyone.
Best all around great tip. Go to the bathroom before you get in line.
Hmmm, so you have to decide which park to go to on which day in advance, and you have to try to get dinner reservations 60 days in advance per day per park, and then you have to make sure those two match up. How far in advance do you have to book a park day? My guess is food reservations first then park days.
You can make food reservations ahead of time as long as they are not inside a park..if it's in the park you have to book your park day first...
Now that's a pretty short time compared to what I expected!
Yeah MCParks is great
Even though a couple attractions like the Carousel of Progress aren't available, the main rides are of an incredible quality
When we find something we want we take a picture of what is then the shop, it's at. Then we go back at the end of the day.

@@BitterBetty76 Would you at least consider a 10 minute drive on I-94 through downtown Chicago during Friday afternoon rush hour? That couldn't be any worse than spending a day at DW... or is it? 😱
@@chickey333 😂 not sure about that one either!
Single rider lines are a god send in DW. Eliminates me needing to have a fast pass on most rides and I can use my FP’s on more important rides.
Well when you look at the price to stay in a Disney resort vs value resorts, then it makes more sense to have incentives like longer park hours.
I cannot stress the "don't wait in line forever" enough. We once went in line for avatar I believe, and almost missed our dinner reservation.
Ha, referencing Molly from AllEars with “fancy rides.” I love that y’all work together.
Possible video idea (If not already done): How to Maximize After Park Hours. Or detailing how to best use that and what’s available
Staying hydrated is so important especially in the summer, I've seen so many people drop like flies in the heat
AJ, your videos are very enjoyable. You are a terrific host and guide!
I love the Test Track ride but hate the current theming, it did not need to be redone
I wasn’t happy with genie plus during the thanksgiving break. It was giving me horrible times for rides.
I'm curious - did you stay on property and start planning right at 7AM?
BONUS! The wait times are normally superbuffed. 45 minutes would normally mean 5-10 minutes. I would know, because i just went 4 days ago.
We are doing a split stay between Pop and Caribbean in February! It’s such a smart idea!!
Yes please do a video on this!
Ty
For our family we’d always hit the park early at park open and then at 11:30 we went back to hotel and swam. Then went back late in the day. Never waited in lines.
Just a thought if you haven't covered it. What kind of handicap amenities do they have. Scooters, aids, etc. Anything that helps in the parks or hotels for handicap accessibility.
I went to Disney 2 weeks ago most of the wait time were wrong except for space mountain we waited in line for 2 hours, regrettable
15:18 also keep in mind that it can depend on their moods, my little brother bawled his eyes out on ET at universal but absolutely LOVED Dinosaurs in animal kingdom
i have to agree with the not forcing your kids to ride certain rides. we went to ride dinosaur - which i (18 at the time) hadn’t rode before - and i was telling my little sister (10) that i would protect her and it’s just a plain dino ride not scary. needless to say we hugged and cried the entire time
A year after rotr opened I waited for 4 hrs for it and never got on. The ride was broken down but we kept thinking “it’ll be back up soon”
We went January 2 and still got to see all the cool Christmas decorations
Y’all the quick service Avatar restaurant in Animal Kingdom has great food and if you go just after peak lunch hours it’s not super crowded
I leave for Disney world tomorrow and I really appreciate the advice!
15:42
I was one of those kids, took me until I was like 12 or 13 to actually ride one of the big rollercoasters, but the one that I rode first (Everest) was the best one I’ve ridden
We made the mistake of NOT buying something when we saw it - this hoodie for my husband - and then they took it off the shelves a few days later and we couldn't find it. I'd rather buy it, have buyer's remorse and return it.
17:47 *Guests behind you* "I didn't think this was supposed to be a water ride!"
This is far more complicated than a London trip. Some museums are hard to book, true, but plenty are easy to book online a day or even an hour before.
Oh yeah!
I'm going to Cosmetic Rewind for our holiday at the end of May and it opens whilst we are there :)
In regards to Genie +....remember that access does not equal availability.

lol, one time we were in New Fantasyland when the fireworks was about to start.
Could you make a video on what it's like being vegan at Disney?
Hey! I was wondering if early park access is for any good neighbor hotel or just for some?
I don't know back in the day we had no reservations for parks or food and we never had a problem..
