I commented 8 months ago to thank you for this. Today my descale light went off again and I couldn't remember the specifics of this, so I googled it and went through the list until I found you again! You make it soooooooooo simple, so, thanks again 🤗
This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
You would think there would have been a selection in the menu for Descale! But, no! I followed directions for some descaling tablets but couldn't figure out how to get rid of the Descale word on the screen. People shouldn't have to go to RUclips to figure out how to do what should be something simple but thank goodness for folks like you putting up videos.
Yeah I agree. Keurig's are even harder to descale, they have a hard to find descale mode you have to put the machine into. I agree people like to clean there coffee makers and this is one area they don't do a good job in. Thanks for watching!! What is your favorite k cup?
Wow your video was great, we were about to toss our ss-10 after many tries at descaling, the trick of holding the hot water and rinse together did the trick Thank you very much good job!
Thank you! I purchased one 3rd party for $9.99 and got a little discouraged because it wasn’t registering that it had water in it. IT WAS SEVERELY CLOGGED!!! 😅 I came across your video and I feel as though I HAVE HIT THE JACKPOT! I am a visual and hands on learner so thank you again for the detailed tutorial. New sub‼️🫶🏾
Mine is also registering no water, but no de-scake light is on. I've tried pushing the hot water and rinse buttons simultaneously but nothing changes. Help!! I would gladly run the vinegar cycle if I could get it to uptake the water.
You sir, are a true VIP! This is exactly why I appreciate you tube is people have a platform to share their solutions to situations we maybe facing either now or in future. This worked beautifully and I appreciate you so much. Have a wonderful week!
I didn’t save your video the first time I found it but have saved it today after descaling my machine. Love this video, you explain everything clearly and so well. Thank you!!!
Thanks so much!! Thanks for your kind words and feedback. Your words of encouragement are so nice and mean so much. I love doing videos that helps others and Its because of comments like yours I keep doing what I am doing. Thanks!!!!
We started having a problem with our dual cuisinart coffee maker-the k-cup side. Almost every one of them was exploding, didn't matter what brand they were. We descaled multiple times and cleaned the needles to no avail. Finally, I discovered that it was the way we were loading them in the machine. We used to place the k-cup in, and then forcefully close the lid, which worked fine for a long time. I discovered that if you place the k-cup in the machine, and then push it down onto the lower needle with your hand until it punctures the bottom of the k-cup, and then close the top lid, it works every great every single time. Maybe that's how we were supposed to be doing it the whole time but we didn't know it. Anyway, hope this works for you!
This issue is cuisenart uses a plastic needle to puncture cup, my old keurig was metal, this is my 3rd cuisinart, first two lids would not close, three times a charm, it’s an ok machine but miss my keurig🤷♂️
Thank you so much for this FANTASTIC video. It worked perfect. I also have been getting green moss or mold or something at the bottom where the spikes are in the water tank that I couldn't get cleaned so while I was washing the water holder with soap and water I did another was with a tablespoon of Clorox and water it got all the green out!!!!!.. I then washed it again with soap and water and dried it. Filled the tank full and ran the entire amount though the machine. I can hardly wait for my first cup of coffee tomorrow. Thanks again.
Thanks! I did forget to hit the water and rinse simultaneously to clear the “descale” notification. I also started using pure vinegar to help it get done the first go. One instruction also said to let it sit for 4 hours(?). I guess it depends on how calcified your device is? I do like to see that descale disappear. Thanks! Cheaper and more effective than the solution they sell.
I have had mine since April 2021. My Kuriegs only lasted a year or so and they cost more. Gotta keep this one going like the inflation if you know what I mean. Thank you for an easy and great video. Saved this one!
Super helpful and clear, thank you very much! Someone with a different model said we needed to add a four hour wait time in the process... wow! We have the same model as yours... it was very easy to push both buttons at once, though. The first world problem i have is the counter-intuitive position of the size buttons. Even though they are marked it is challenging to my old teacher brain to get used to small to large being in reverse order of a L to R number line 🤦🏼♀️😂 I set it for mid size to guard against possible overflow w smaller mug, but i prefer lg in my own cup ... lol makes me stop and think about what I'm doing every time! 😂
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!! What is your favorite K cup?
Thanks for this. I will add that I think it gets better results if you wait an extra couple of minutes between descale cups. At least that's been my experience.
Thank you so much!!!!! I’ve been trying to get my descale light off for ages! You saved me so much money! But now how can i justify getting the ninja duo pro 😂
Thanks, I always need to download the manual every time I need to descale my coffee maker. I saved this video to my "home tips" list to have for future use. ...I also subscribed to your channel 😀
Does your manual say to wait 4 hours with the vinegar in it prior to adding fresh water? The video here explains more directly from Cuisinart ruclips.net/video/-npzjQaOF5E/видео.html
Thanks, for those that don't have any of the lights come on to push, it's the button on the right when you open the lid where it snaps down. Clean that little button that pushes towards the back under the little square hinge. Mine wouldn't even give me lights to push and once cleaned it all worked. I used pure vinegar to start then added water after two rounds of twelve. then pure water and the descale went off.
Great video, very easy to follow, to the point. Able to remove the descale sign. Still needed to clean the pod chamber, coffee grinds are still stuck to the walls.
Great video I use a video for another model. Ran it throughl with 60 oz of vinegar, Descale would not turn off. Tried your two button start and Descale is off. Now for the rinse cycle. Thanks Awesome Video
Great video Dad but there's one place on my coffee maker that needs to be cleaned and it's not easy to get to. It is the tank where the coffee filter does in, I guess you might call it the tank, the area right below the word Cuisinart in that area. Coffee overflows as water is filling thru the filter and gets in that tank area and will drip onto the drip pan below after removing your cup. You can take a paper towel and reach up into the area from the bottom of the tank and wipe that scrungy mess out but you can get to all area's very well. Do you know of a good way to clean that area? Thank you for the demonstration.
@@JustADad I have to take wet paper towel and wad it up, put in the tank and put a butter knife on it and scrub it around. It works but it's a pain. Just thought you might have a better idea, thank you.
I am on my second Cuisinart K-Cup Coffee Maker/Single Server SS-10. My current coffee maker is now displaying the same problem as my first one. I get the "Add Water" message even if the water tank is full. If I lift the water tank a little bit the "Add Water" goes off. But I have to press the Brew button before I lower the water tank to start the brewing process. Have you run into this before? Is there a fix?

I always use 100% vinegar with no water. Also let it set, while on, for a few hours before finally purging it clean. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much for explaining the entire process in a calm and detail manner!
