- I shortened some riffs, I lengthened some riffs so it was easier on the ears with a more common time signature (rather than none at all haha). I created transitions, added a couple chords, mixed in 4 other Porter songs, raised the key so it was "out of tune" like the original (in-between Dm and Ebm) and the whole practicing and arranging process was honestly... bittersweet. The final of 15 piano covers to complete the Nurture album. From "Something Comforting" in March of 2020, to "dullscythe" in September 2021. I definitely have Porter and Nurture to thank for my channel, Patreon, and sheet music job doing as well as it is. And, for all the kind, genuine friends and patrons I've made online along the way. Thank you guys.
That's NOT to say I'll never play something off Nurture (or Worlds *wink*) ever again! I'm excited for the new songs and new artists we'll listen to and cover this fall 🤍

@@SoftEchoes pretty sure you don't always need permission from the original artist - you need a license i believe that enables you to release covers of any type onto streaming services

@@SoftEchoes i've heard about that too but i thiiiiink it's more for if i wanted to directly use his samples or midi files or tracks in my own remixes? for that special permission? in the past i've bought licenses for like john mayer and lauv and madeon for spotify/apple and it was fine :)
you finished the final boss of Porter Robinson. when he told us this song had no BPM I thought it was un-remixable, un-coverable, ect. but you came through. this is pure joy, im obsessed, thank you so much.

dullscythe is a very complicated piece of music, and I've always hoped you would cover it because I'm curious about how you'd try to adapt it. Excited to see this!
This is such a great accomplishment. You've covered all 15 songs from a cutting edge EDM album in nearly 20 weeks flat. It took me 6 months just to learn Look at the Sky haha. Excited to hear how you could possibly cover this one.

holy shit the emotion in this is beyond sentimental... i'm at a loss for words to describe how i felt listening to this. the forte bassy sections and soft, serene sections contrasting against each other playing with my emotions. such a beautiful cover and you should be so proud. not only of this stunning performance but of the fact you've covered the ENTIRE ALBUM! such a crazy accomplishment. keep it up jenny, you're doing great !!
You can see the fear in her eyes before playing, but this sounds absolutely incredible! No clue how you were able to translate that song into such an incredible piece.
I practiced soooo many times but it's a long arrangement and I was afraid to mess up and have to start over, hence the deep breath at the beginning haha you read me exactly! But having to leave for Second Sky/California I didn't have time to record it later so I got it done haha. I'm so happy you think it's incredible 🥺♥️

I am suprised how bittersweet this feels. I remember after discovering nurture and living it to bits going around to try and find piano covers and I managed to find your channel with two or three covers up. Following your journey as you transcribed each and every piece has been amazing and I'm sad to see it end. At the same time though, each and every video has been absolutely incredible and I don't regret any bit of the journey. Amazing job and good luck with your future covers!

Dullscythe is my favourite Porter Robinson song. I dislike/hate most Porter Robinson songs, but Dullscythe is one that I unconditionally love, as one of my all-time favourite songs even. I don't know. There's just something about those notes, man. And those vocal splices. They just touch my soul.
