I've started a targeted grazing business in Northern California in areas that have been hit hard by the out of control wildfires. I'm starting with San Clemente Island goats because they are somewhat native, small, hardy and designated rare and endangered by the Livestock Conservancy. I've got a "two fer" plan; grazing for wildfire hazard mitigation during some months of the year and then raising to sell these rare and endangered animals. So far so good.
I appreciate your promoting good genetics and the right animal for the job.

Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "farmers boer goats" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Chloetey Boer Goatify - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy got amazing results with it.
I m so inspire from your work and no doubt mla is doing an amazing work to promote livestock awareness among their people.
I wish that I spent some time in Australia to visit these farms and meet the goat farmer to explore the world of raring goats.

Would like to know what breed will be best suited for the caribbean.. trinidad to be exact..
I don't know exactly about the weather in Trinidad but in Jamaica I've seen a lot of Nubian and Boer. But I don't know that that's the best breed for the tropics. For wet areas in the southern United States I've seen a lot of kiko farmers. They are a hardy breed. They do better in wet environments. They have better resistance to parasites.
The biggest draw back is that they aren't as big as some other breeds. It's a trade off. Definitely don't go buy a breed just on my word but I think for your area kiko would be best for meat. Nubian for milk.

You're close to Botswana, I know some farmers export them from South Africa, Lukas Burger, Pieter Smith and a lot others, find them on Facebook for the best genetics
