Undeniable proof how tight Dave Grohl is on drums and has a machine like tempo driving his playing : Just compare the length of this version to the album version, considering this demo version eclipses some of the first drum beats. 3min52 VS 3min53. Mind blowing musician.
I hated the mix of the debut album. It was just so flat but I'll Stick Around and This Is A Call got reworked for one of the Rock Band games and sound amazing.
RIP Oliver Taylor Hawkins, rock musician, best known as the drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters (50 !!) ;-( Before joining the popular band in 1997, OLiver was the touring drummer for Sass Jordan and Alanis Morissette, as well as the drummer in the progressive experimental band "Sylvia", in 2004, Hawkins formed his own side project, "Taylor Hawkins and the coattail riders", in which he played drums and sang, he was voted "best rock drummer" in 2005 by the british drumming magazine "Rhythm", Oliver also appeared in the videos for "You oughta know", "All i really want" and "You learn", he also appeared on Morissette's VHS/DVD "Jagged little pill, live" (1997) etc. !
@@chickenbiscuitbabyyewww9580 very weird to come back to this comment 2 years after I left it and see a ridiculously new reply, and yeah I’m gonna have to agree with you, I think it was literally 1 snare hit lol. I don’t have any excuse, I just *really* didn’t have my priorities straight back then.
This version sounds huge
When the demo sounds better than the album version.
Stolen comment.
Not really

When the demo is AS good as the released studio version...
Arguably, better than the album version.
@@sdrape4964 I just think the album is not a great mix. I feel like it's one of those albums that'd benefit from a re-issued remaster.
So much Better
@@magnumcornetto A remaster wouldn't fix the mix. I believe you'd want a remix, and not in a shitty DJ kinda way.
@@magnumcornetto i think it’s so bad it’s good, if you know what im saying
A couple months after Kurt died then? This might have been one Dave’s first recordings after his death.
This was a demo? Sounds better than the album version

@@jaggass listen to the first album rough mixes they'd probably be your speed
I miss the mid '90s
2:15 Are we not gonna talk about that drum fill?!
Sometimes you don't really know what someone's problem is, and they do work towards taking something from you, but we stick around. We stick around.

Thanks for this because nobody would’ve known who the fuck Taylor Hawkins was.
Thanks for the record.....this is awesome...this FF is medicine for me after Nirvana gone....greetings from indonesia
Dave probably the best all around drummer ever.
listen to the start it changes a tiny bit at the drums 0:00
el inicio de foo fighters
This still has zero dislikes. Says it all
Update: STILL!
Sadly. The dislike button has passed zero. This is a very sad day
So does every video now... :(
Yea because they took all dem dislikes away
still 0!
I was like #94!

Dave, the Hero of Rock'n'Roll, Grohl!
Dave picked up a few ingredients from Kurt's playing.
Better than the album version. The tape version limits the loudness war approach.
Sounds better than the record
Still a banger.
Dave Grohl was the best drummer of Foo Fighters...
gne gne
Julien Gomez I like Taylor a lot though
and guitarist and bassist considering he did almost all of the first album by himself and most of TCATS on his own meaning without William Goldsmith.
Taylor is pretty badass in his own right
Isn't he the singer? Or am I wrong
Honestly some parts of this are better than what the album version
Better than original release
gem
Courtney pissed Dave back then?
yes
Indeed
BIG time!! Bitch infuriated him. He knew what she was all about but, unfortunately, the world didn't then. Some still don't I guess🤷🏻♀️
LOL Yeah!
"They're making a fortune playing foo fighter gigs!"

One honest storm at 23 years old
Mithra Charon 25
Is it just me, or does it sound like he's saying "I tick around" in this recording?
i prefer demos sometimes
I DON'T OWE YOU ANITHING ☺
I DON'T KNOW YOU ANYTHING 😡
Late Pocketwatch Demo version!
Am not sure, but it sounds like Krist Novoselic was the bassist in this demo.
Too bad this slightly cuts in, otherwise I’d probably say this is the best Foo Fighters demo
We missed one maybe two snare hits, who gives a shit? This will always be one of the best demos ever, and not just within foo fighters

The guitars sound like in Nevermind. I think I prefer the rawest guitars in the eponymous album. But this version is more intense somehow IMO.
i love it but the vocals are too low. other than that its perfect!
Are you sure tis isn't the album version.
Yes, it's a demo from 1994.
@@NEMUR24 Cause it sounds near identical
@@aarondx3764 yeah it does sound similar, but there are definitely some slight differences you can hear
Yeah it's a little slower
@@aarondx3764 The guitar tone is more mid-focused, and the drum and vocal takes are completely different.
Awe humble Nirvana Dave Grohl..
William Goldsmith was the best drummer of Foo Fighters,I mean,I like Taylor Hawkins a lot,but William beat the drums harder
I saw Foo Fighters live in 1995 to the Bataclan in Paris (and broke my knee during the show...) and yes Goldsmith was totally awesome, very hard...
Andrew Cobain Nirvana Dave grohl toca la batería tonto jajajaja no William goldsmith
he beat harder so he was better drummer? omg man.. dave knews what he was doing.
this is dave, this was a demo when he was recording by himself (not totally true, it just seems like daves drumming)
It is Dave Grohl on drums.
