Citroen Berlingo B9 Retrofit Cruise Control & Speed Limiter

- The process of retrofitting cruise control and speed limiter into a 2011 Citroen Berlingo B9.
This should work on the Peugeot Partner which is basically identical to the Berlingo. The B9 was sold between 2008 and 2018. There may be some slight variations in part numbers used between those years which is why i would recommend doing some research on owners clubs or finding wiring/parts diagrams to double check.
The general process will be very similar for most PSA cars, parts have been shared between different cars. The cruise control stalk came from a 407, the accelerator pedal came from another berlingo but could have come from a 207 or 3008 to name a few.
This is a relatively cheap and easy modification to do, the parts cost was under £40, even considering that diagbox had to be bought from eBay for £40 it is still not a bad price to pay to get such useful functionality.
I have also uploaded another version of this video with me talking rather than using the subtitles. Personally as an engineer i prefer the concise delivery of information that this format provides but for anyone wanting to listen to a hard to understand accent please enjoy:

Mate, you are a legend. Great, comprehensive video.
I was toying with the idea of doing this to my 2012 B9 Multispace; now I’m buying the parts so the toying is over and the gears are in motion. Been dying to have this for ages. £13 for the pedal, £11 for the stalk, already got Diagbox and an old xp laptop purely for Diagbox purposes. Now just to wait on delivery.
Best of luck with the job
@@peugeotCitroen2CV enabled on the BSI but can’t seem to enable it on the ECU. The correct lights are showing on the dash but it’s not giving me anyway to activate it on the ECU. I can set a speed for CC and SL but it remains in the off position. It’s a EDC17 ECU. Is there a way around this?
On Diagbox I was using v7.57. When I try to update to v7.83 following the steps of the update to a T it always fails at v7.66 with error loading diagnostic causing me to abe to uninstall and start from scratch with updates from 7.01->7.02->7.57. Is there a trick that I’m missing here as well? I’ve sent you page on Facebook a message (Nico). Any help would be appreciated. Cheers buddy and thanks again for the video
About to do this on a 207. It should be noted that there are variations in connector pin out too. There are 6 and 8 pin cruise stalks and 5 and 6 pin accelerator pedals.
Take the column shroud off and look at the rear of the pcb projection you see. Mine has 8 copper pads so I'm assuming only an 8 pin stalk will give me all functions. I guess a 6 pin stalk would not work properly if mated to an 8 pin pcb.
The LVVD pedal is also available in either 5 or 6 pin configurations. I assumed that the '6th' extra pin was for the kick down function, but it can't be as the LVVD version comes in 5 pin set up too. Confused? Me too....
EDIT:
Job completed and working well. Thanks to PC2CV for the info on the LVVD pedal. I think without learning this valuable piece of info, I would have probably just settled for cruise control only.
Nice! Love your videos. Just a shame there is so much info on the screen and it’s not displayed long enough to read. I keep having to hit pause. Still great videos though. I’ve followed your channel for years! 👌🏻👍🏻😎
Hi, thanks for the comment.
Yes i know about that issue, to be honest i do expect for the pause button to be used. It keeps the video more concise and to the point. Although yes on a mobile touch screen device pause is not as easy to use as the space key on a computer keyboard.
However, the reason this video is muted and has a soundtrack was that i actually recorded it with me talking. it is a 25 minuite long video but it will be interesting to see the reaction to that format compared to the subtitles.

Hi i bought a 2017 peugeot partner its restricted to 112kph any idea were the limiter would be regards ian.
Hi there, there might be an option in the BSI or on some of the settings accessible via diagbox but i honestly cant remember seeing them. Failing that it may be on the ECU itself in which case a remap may be required. Let me know how you get on with this, interested to know the way it is resolved.
Hi, I see you're not too far from me on your test drive there. I'm having some bother activating Cruise Control and Speed Limiter on my Partner. Would you mind trying it with your kit?
Hi there Colm
I have the kit that should be able to activate it for you.

What if it does not have the symbols in the display.
What tool did you use to check if the pedal switches are present? Could this be done just with Diagbox? I have a 2015 Peugeot Partner Teepee and want to add CC/Limiter functionality as well.
It seems like there's two versions of the Diagbox adapter as well: "lite" or "full chip" (with some more relays/optocouplers), which one would recommend? Thank you!
Great video how much do you charge for this service I might be looking it dun awaiting on my 2018 van not ready yet only in from auction there on monday
Hi, This video was absolutely great! I tried this myself, but during the last step, I can't configure the setting of cruise control to 'present' in the ECU. It just starts downloading and writing without me actually changing anything. Any ideas?
HI there, thanks for the comment.
It can depend on the version of your diagbox. Now i cant remember 100% what version i had that worked. But i do recall i had to uninstall diagbox and install an older version for someone elses van i was working on after this video. I think if you install the software that comes on the CD's on ebay and update to the latest version on the CD then it can have issues. The earliest version is what worked.
I'm looking to do this on my Berlingo and on the hunt for the stalk - most ones i come across have the product code "96470494XT" - any idea if its the exact same product or if the "6242Z8" is referring to something more specific?
Hello,do you know if my van is limited to 70mph? Can i remove the speed limit with that diagnostic?
Hi there, i do believe it could be limited electronically, i think royal mail and some other delivery companies tend to apply a limiter, generally quite common on company vans that are being driven by employees.
I will be honest ive never noticed it on the diagnostic settings but then i have not been looking for that option it could well be in there, the menus have a lot in them. If its as simple as that then thats an easy one to do.
Worst case you might need to take it to someone who can remap vehicles to get it deactivated that way.
Great tutorial, I've had a quick look at my display but I can't see the cruise control indicator, is this because its not been "switched on" or will I need some other tech? Thanks in advance
Hi, what year is your berlingo, the icon is not instanly visible but i think most B9s have it
@@peugeotCitroen2CV thanks for the reply, I checked again with a torch and I could see it. Can I pay someone to switch on the cruise control or is it cost prohibitive
@@marksugden8730
The diagbox lead i use was only £50 on ebay, running on an old windows xp laptop.
Alternativley join the berlingo owners facebook page and find out if someone is local to you, i am based in Northern Ireland so probably a bit far of a drive, but the owners clubs generally have a few people with the diagnostic equipment usually a few beer tokens to have it reprogrammed.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Lian Ian instablaster :)
It didnt work my Partner B9. Ive fitted controller and made same changes in trough diagbox and it still doesnt work :(
What is diagbox saying, can it complete the configuration ok?
@peugeotCitroen2CV yeah. All changes applied without any issues
@@labrathersmotion6638 not too sure, is the Berlingo screen saying anything?
@peugeotCitroen2CV nothing at all. I can see that there is cruise controll on dash but doest light up. Could that be a fault of controller?
@@labrathersmotion6638 is the symbol on the instrument cluster acknowledging that it has been turned on?
Can you do the configuration with lanuch x431 diagnostic tool?
Great video
Love your channel's
Hi there, thanks for the comment.
I think the Launch can do a lot of configuration options, i have one and its actually quite capable, i used one to VIN decode a few radios and configured cruise control. Although diagbox does have an easier to follow interface.
thanks for the video!! if you dont need the speed limiter (only CC) then the accelarator pedal dont need to be changed right?
That is correct.
Although i would say 90% of the time i use the speed limiter function, on the likes of an older PSA car such as a 406 with just cruise control its one function i really miss.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV thank you! i dont use the speed limiter normaly. so for me its good enough without. thanks for your reply. and thanks for the good video.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV Hi, what happens if I activate the limiter without changing the pedal? Thank you !!
@@jlgvideomusic
It probably will not work, i do not know i have never tried finding that out.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV very kind, thanks for your reply
IF you dont have THE symbol in cluster then it cant be made?
As far as i am aware yes, although i dont know if there was any B9 berlingos that did not have the symbol, never been in too many of the earlier ones, just something i seen on forums.
Im into buy a 2011 Berlingo multispace but it was Hard to se if it was something in cluster.
@@Dulan12 I think the 2011 should definitely have it
I hear your norn iron accent and I'm wondering if you can help me activate my cruise control.
Hard to hide the accent haha.
Yes no problem at all, have you the parts installed and just need it configured on lexia?
@@peugeotCitroen2CV I haven't bought a stalk yet, but I can get that sorted.
