    I’ve just been given an unused Kenwood DAB radio and was checking to see it it could be fitted to my Berlingo van. Then I saw this video. It’s a great guide, I may be tempted to give it a go myself but didn’t realise that I may have to cut bits out of the van. I hoped it would just slot in. Not sure if I want to do that…I’ve saved this vid in case I do get brave.

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  2 года назад

      There is unfortunately that bit of cutting needed, on the plus side you can fit a head-unit with much enhanced functionality. It looked reasonably factory as the dashboard is a fairly square shape and some berlingos did get a big screen infotainment setup.

    Hi! Awesome video! One question: with the wheel controls you access the functions of the old "Menu" button in the old radio. Is there a way to access through this wheel control the "Dark" and the "Mode" functions? (the “dark” and the “mode” buttons on the old radio that also controlled the screen). Thanks a lot!!

      Hi there
      You might need to get the correct wiring harness, its worth checking with a multimeter where your constant +12v, ignition switched +12v and negative wires are, and then read the instructions manuals for the aftermarket stereos to confirm that those wires will match up.

    Hi, great video, much appreciated. I've got a question regarding the wiring of clock display - I've plugged in the adaptor to the jack socket at the back of the head unit in my berlingo, but the controls by the steering wheel don't work as intended - the scrolling wheel doesn't work at all, and the buttons seem to be 'reversed' if that makes sense.
    Have I missed anything during an install? There is a 'remote' wire in loom that came with the radio unit - should I connect it to the 'Key 1' wire on the adapter?
    As a side note - I've got exactly same unit and all adaptors you listed in the video.
    Not sure if my question is clear enough, but I'll appreciate any help.

    how long did it take to power on ?.. Did it reboot every time you crank the engine? possible to power on with ignition off ?

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  Год назад

      I think its a few seconds to power on
      its not a very slow boot up process
      although there is that irritating message you have to accept at the start on every boot up.
      regarding powering it with the ignition off, you would need to find a wire in the berlingo thats always 12v positive all the time and wire it appropriately. Although this headunit doesn't have a proper off button so it would quickly drain the battery. Possibly then look for a 12v positive that goes off when the vehicle enters economy mode.
      Although i never minded it, just sitting with the engine off but ignition on was okay for running the headunit.

    Bonjour, SUPER VIDEO !!! 👍
    I'm in France and I just bought a Citroën Berlingo BlueHDI 100ch XTR that came off the assembly line on November 24, 2016. I would like to change the radio like in your video but I can't find anyone to advise me on buying the right harness CAN-BUS or to get the job done to me. Some don't want to take the risk (Citroën network) others say it's impossible...
    As there are plenty of videos showing the reverse I am more than skeptical (at best)...
    Could you tell me which CAN-BUS bundle you bought to follow your step-by-step video, please?
    The radio is a Continental, no MP3 or Bluetouch, however I have the rear radar.
    The radio harness is divided into three parts, 2 black plugs: the speakers and the power supply plus two wires which I have trouble identifying with certainty but which would perhaps be CAN-LOW and CAN-HIGH. Plus a white mini ISO Quadlock on which there are 3 wires in three shades of brown whose use I don't know...
    Help me please 🙏

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  2 года назад +1

      Hi there
      Dynamic sounds sell the full wiring harness and facia plate. Im sure other sellers are available but i know they sold what i fitted here. They should be able to ship to france but email them to check, they also have good technical support.
      If you have rear parking sensors fitted there is an additional module available to allow it to continue working, again thats something available from dynamic sounds.
      I would advise against trying to wire something into a can bus network, buy the proper wiring kits to avoid causing damage.

      This is the link, just worth noting i see it shows as out of stock but dynamic sounds may be worth emailing;

    Hello is it suitable for 2007 berlingo ? Same installation ? Thx

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  3 года назад +1

      No the 2007 was the old shape, a different dashboard structure. Having a look at the dash it's got the buttons above the single DIN radio. You would need to fabricate a new radio surround and relocate those buttons. The owners club might have ideas/inspiration. It will not be as straightforward as it was here unfortunately.

    can a touch screen unit from 2016 berlingo be fitted to older 2012 model ? what is all needed

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  3 года назад

      Possibly (ask on the owners club)but I would not advise it, it is not a particularly good setup had it in the 508 that i had before this Berlingo and it was quite laggy, the navigation did not accept a full post code, the screen was not the most responsive and it had no support for car play

    fitted a double din from ebay what do i need to get the clock settings etc to work

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  3 года назад

      A steering wheel adaptor, go onto dynamic sounds and they will have them.
      I also screenshot the fitting kit quite early on in the video, good idea if you are fitting a double din into a berlingo, that kit includes the adaptor.

      Hi there,
      Unfortunately i work a day job as an engineer so have minimal time in the evenings the work i do that ends up in videos and the editing takes up most of the time. For that reason alone i do not offer to do work for other people apart from friends/family cars which keep me busy.
      That and im also based in Northern Ireland.
      I do make the videos so that they can show how to do this work, if you have any questions just ask im happy to help out.

    Hi. Ive tried to find your contact details. I really would like you to fit mine for me. I don't think I could trust anyone else to do it for me. Please help 🙏

      As I mentioned on the other place you commented i dont do this as a day job, i work as an engineer during the day and get out to the shed for a few hours of an evening, that and the videos is just something i do for enjoyment.
      I cant offer to do this sort of work as i dont have the time and i know from doing this to my own Berlingo it took a good day to do it.
      All is in the video to guide you through the process and if you have any questions i am happy to help.
      I keep my contact details off RUclips, but do have a Facebook page with the same name as this channel.

      On right hand drive vehicles it is in the glovebox. There is a panel there which will provide access to the fuse box.

      @peugeotCitroen2CV  3 года назад

      @@owenkelly9447 There is not a specific fuse box for the heated seats, there is a fuse box in the passenger compartment, and one in the engine bay.
      I have a separate video on this channel if you want to add heated seats to your Berlingo
