  • The Truman Sports Complex, home to KC's Royals and Chiefs, opened to the public 50 years ago. Now the teams have a new vision for their future and voters must decide whether to support that vision with tax dollars. Flatland in Focus takes a look at the likely impact this plan will have on the locations proposed by the Royals and what current residents and businesses would like to see come with it.

Will Kaufmann stadium be paid off by the time the Royals leave in 2031? Or is that additional debt (+ demolition costs with currently unspecified payer) on top of the $36M/day (for 40 yrs) needed to fund $50M / .00375 (equation for yearly funding of debt). I LOVE the Royals and the Chiefs. I just don't love the math.

Yes the ppl in that area definitely have a big issue in front of them. I was amazed that it was put on the ballot before all the agreements were signed. Honestly, it looks like the Royals & to a lesser extent the Chiefs, are being arrogant.

Keep the project in the East Village...It will be easier to move ...City Union Mission...Salvation Army...JE Dunn HQ...than it would to displace or relocate all of those hundreds of Crossroads businesses...
