  • In 2025, the prolonged KC Streetcar expansion from Union Station to the Plaza is expected to begin moving passengers. KC's midtown businesses and residents may see associated cost of living increases as new development concludes and ridership begins on the extension. This month, Flatland in Focus analyzes the costs and examines the benefits and drawbacks for developers and the midtown community.

Great panel, in addition to much more affordable housing we need to get mental health treatment for those who need it most.

Exact, while cheaper than some, still charges way too much for their apartment. I will say though, great company to work with. I think they’re a good partner. Mac needs to be booted out not given an entire street.

"Who benefits?" The rich Developer's and Landlords who charge over 1500k monthly (and higher) for rent then mandate a person must earn 3x that monthly to even fill out an application. Level of profit? hahahahahahahaha Greed rules America!

I’m just moving. KC is way too expensive now for what it’s offering. At this point I’d rather live in a trailer in California than here.

Not a very good discussion on how to deal with the problem of rising rents along the Streetcar. The Tenant organizer seems to just wants to prevent any development along the line and I bet he'd be happier if it never existed and kept Main St. cheap and undesirable. The councilor also seems to view public transit as some form of welfare or handout for the poor rather than a good investment and a reliable form of transportation. I can't imagine either of them actually want to see the streetcar and KC succeed
