Like no other movies/TV shows didn’t do the same. That’s why I can’t take Revenge haters seriously. You blame it for having mistakes seen elsewhere. Rushed filming, rushed production, rushed editing, rushed special effects. Reshoots, rewritings, bad blood between people involved. And aside from really questionable ideas and that terrible shark’s death scene (I thought she shot a torpedo as a kid, because she did that thing with her arm, lol), it could’ve been a lot worse.
Jaws is an example of the movie actually being better than the book. Jaws: The Revenge is an example of the video-game tie-in actually being better than the movie.

There were apparently 2 different versions for the shark's death the first one we're all familiar with where Ellen stabbed the thing in the neck and combined with the sharks weight broke the entire bow off of the ship and the shark slowly sank to it's death and the other one was when Ellen stabbed it in the neck and the shark violently exploded for no apparent reason.
Where Michael Caine says "put it all on" he loses it all on the next scene which is cut and he says "oh well, it was their money anyway." That scene took all morning and they never used it. I was dealing in the Casino the day all this was filmed. Resorts international Casino Paradise Island.
I remember reading somewhere the original cut for Sean's death was a bit longer. Apparently, they filmed him coming up out of the water and grabbing onto the hole in the boat. He tries to pull himself up with his one arm and is yanked down into the water. This is why the boat begins to sink. Then, it cut to him bobbing in the water that was in the film. It was said the scene was cut because it was a lot more graphic and needed to be toned down.

The shark kept stalking and killing the Brody family and Ellen believed that the shark had to be stopped or else it will continue to kill the Brody family
Really the only thing I liked about this movie was the first 15 minutes, and the new take on the Jaws theme. I kinda like how different it is but still feels close to the original theme.
Not many people know this but the granddaughter in this movie (Judith Barsi ) was murdered by her own father a year after this movie came out in theaters.Look it up very sad story 😭
The shark being fully upright out of the water at 12:00 (MAYBE tip of the tail still submerged) makes it beyond irritating that this PoS shares the same anything with the first one.
The TV version is actually called the original Theatrical Version. What was released on home media was all a newer film with a new ending and extra scenes removed. I saw Jaws The Revenge when it came out in 1987 at a drive in along with Hellraiser. The TV cut is what was shown. Only difference was the language. The original theatrical cut (TV Cut) had all the foul language left in as well as 1 thing you won't find on the TV cut which is a slightly longer death scene during the banana boat scene. They should release both versions since they both exist, but Universal isn't too keen on doing that.
Are you sure that's right? All I read was they changed the ending. Nothing about them trimming down and removing entire scenes. If what your saying is true somehow, I'd strongly believe that horrible "twilight zone" monologue wasn't included and simply made for the TV airing.
Whoever did Loraine Gary's hair probably ended her movie career! Then, again, she was the girlfriend of a big Universal executive, so she could have had one leg and she still would have gotten the part.
I've only ever scene these scenes on RUclips as I am not from the US, but the scene of Mike and Jake on the porch should have been included after the banana boat scene, after Ellen takes the boat.
shamrock balls yes, but the only deleted scenes you can find are the ones of Mike and Jake singing, which is not in the right spot in the movie(AMC tv broadcasters fault), and another scene I can't think of atm. but these scenes have not been included in any DVD/Bluray release, these I found from a torrent
Yes, I also remember seeing a scene on RUclips years ago of when the Brody's first arrive in the Bahamas in the Taxi and Ellen makes a comment to Mike about their boat which she sees stationed off the dock beside their house.
I think if they would have stayed with the original scrip it would have made the movie alot better. I heard the original scrip was a voodoo priest had something against Mike and resurrected the very first shark I think the movie would have made alot more sense.
I have the novelisation and you are correct. Michael ends up pissing off a witch doctor and he puts a curse of the family. The shark however, was also the offspring of the sharks from Jaws 1 and 2. The shark at the end of Jaws 2 gives birth to this shark as she is getting electrocuted. It sounds stupid but in the context of the novel it makes more sense then what was not shown or explained in the film

At least they show the death scene of the shark. I heard that the original theatrical release skipoed the desth scene and people were very disappointed. Watch Siskel and Ebert's review on this movie. And by the way, and we all know this...it is impossible for a shark to leap that high and sharks don't roar! Dumbest death scene ever!

Sorry if this sounds dumb but can someone explain the punchline of um.....this 6:53 . Because if it's what I think it is this is the worst joke I've ever heard
That psychic Shark/Ellen connection was SO freaking lame. More and more I wish this franchise didn't happen and ended with the first movie. Jaws should have been the end of the Brody storyline OR at the least, Jaws 2. jaws 2, I couldn't wait until every one of those annoying teenagers were @$#&ing eaten.
@@jmjfanss I would argue they should have stopped after the original. Jaws 2 is a basic retread of the original minus the great direction and chemistry of three great leads. Jaws 2 looks great compared to the two sequels that followed. Afi, I have no idea what direction the sequels should have taken if I were in charge of Universal. Sequels that offer more of the same tend always produce inferior results. I'm thinking the aborted Jaws 3, People 0 might have been the correct direction to go after all.
The sequence is so bizarre since it's out of place with the rest of the opening before and after. But I guess they needed a way to explain the weird concept of a shark taking revenge, but they could have just done without it.
It is just amazing that, as the series progressed, the sharks got worse looking. Seriously, this sucker makes the original look like the real thing. So, so bad. ☺

I've just watched the film version and most of these scenes were in it.
Centrist Philosopher you must've watched the AMC tv cut....unless you're talking about something different that is...
Where does the AFI place this masterpiece?
Hahahaha
I actually enjoyed the extra shots of the shark when it first surfaced.
Always great seeing Roy in the flashbacks
too bad the whole movie wasn't deleted. And I love bad movies.
I completely agree.
10:29 Wasn't there and that's NOT how Sean,s death happend either. 10:40 Was there 10:47 Wasn't there
4:56 I tried Hoagie gambling once; cost me my large Italian. Never again.
Sorry if this sounds dumb but can someone explain the punchline of um.....this 6:53 .
Because if it's what I think it is this is the worst joke I've ever heard
Greetings İstanbul Turkiye Jaws is legend
It blows the mind that the director of the vastly superior The taking of Pelham, One, Two, Three directed this lethargic movie.
@@bighuge1060 they should have stopped after jaws 2.
4:42 - He's a Heavy Metal fan, I assume?
Thank god i had watched only the first movie !!!
The shark still looks fake.
Jaws Fan it looked fake in 1987
It’s a mechanical shark guys it meant to look like that
still tops CGI that look cartoon
@@asifiwould1 yeah no
Thanks Marty!
Its no wonder they were cut out
Love the narration of in the intro. Very Twilight Zone!
The sequence is so bizarre since it's out of place with the rest of the opening before and after. But I guess they needed a way to explain the weird concept of a shark taking revenge, but they could have just done without it.
8:50 What inspired the End of Evangalion!!!!!!
This whole movie should have been a deleted scene.
Jaws five the shark grew wings instead of fins and flew about killing people - that would be brilliant
Sharknado isn't far off of that.
Piranha 2 the Spawning tried that lol
To the people who liked this movie (other than as a hilarious comedy), get real!
I just think it’s entertaining but you can think what you want
This movie should not even been talked about
Jaws has nine lives lol hence the same shark used again n again :-)
3 lives
And it wasn't the same mechanical sharks
There's only one Jaws movie.
We're they not allowed to use the original music ???
😆😆😆😆😆 12:00. I remember this scene when i was about 6/7years old
I love the shark in 1 and 2.....what THE HELL happened....super cheap, slimed down mold....
the part when the shark was standing looked like it was bigger than the boat, He looked like a Megalodon!
It’s a shame they didn’t delete the whole film…
The shark was trying to kill her because her hair looked so dumb!
I was watching jaws 1 in they actually they also have a deleted seicen
It is just amazing that, as the series progressed, the sharks got worse looking. Seriously, this sucker makes the original look like the real thing. So, so bad. ☺
