- How to Retrieve Lost Files in USB? (4 STEPS ONLY)
1. PRESS WINDOWS KEY + R , TO GO IN CMD. PRESS ENTER OR CLICK OK
2. THEN GO TO FILE EXPLORER
3. NOW GO TO CMD AND TYPE ( f: ) | (depends on the letter of your usb flash drive)
4. AND LAST TYPE ( attrib -r -a -s -h /s /d )
DONE ! :'D THANKS FOR WATCHING !

For anyone who is curious about this.
Just open CMD and type in the letter of your removable drive and go to its folder then type in CMD attrib -r -a -s -h /s /d then the files should become visible again and i have tried it myself and it worked So thumbs up for that man!

As I commented below, I was about to buy expensive software to get back years and years worth of recipes I had stored on a USB drive. In the past, even with software, it has been an iffy process. Sometimes the recovered files are renamed with cryptic names (numbers, usually). The files were restored exactly with the original file names. Can't tell you how ecstatic I am! I had a backup but it wasn't current and I had made modifications to some of them.
the same strategy used by my teacher but unfortunately I forgot it so I'm grateful in your guide..

Hello, i have a question on the third step, what did you type i couldn't see it well
Retrieve lost files is not easy to recover but stellar and Recuva I found so good to recover.
Doesn't work !!! The message is "attrib -r -a -s -h /s /d is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file"
Same problem wonder what is the real solution
Worked for me
You may have a 32 bit system
You may not have an "f:" drive. Look at your USB name mine is named "USB DISK (D:) so do 'd:' instead of 'f:'

what if the files i deleted were from from within a sub-folder on the drive?
I restored a subfolder and all the subfolders inside it just fine. I had one named Recipes and inside that were lots of folders and files.

It didn't bring back my files, it added a folder named System Volume Information, and inside it has 2 files, IndexerVolumeGuid and WPSettings.dat, is there another fix to get my files back?
