- Lyrics:
Flashing eyes of heat
Vessel through the deep
By the son of night, unclean.
Charon
Fear becomes belief,
For those who cannot pay the fee.
A coin to board the fleet,
Or one hundred years disease
Row
But the line it never fades
The story is bound to unfold in the end
Love of mine, gone forever
Say goodbye to the sky
Bound by time, enter the ride
Absently, I will be
Motivate fortune
Can't escape from the arms of death
Along the shore many faces accumulate
In preparation for the underworld
Single file ghost by ghost
The deck fills up to embark on the final sail
But the line it never fades
The story is bound to unfold in the end
Alone we rise and fall
Awaiting the day, a life coalesced.
Deep in the silence our fate is won
Create and consciously free the mind.
So far from where I lost my soul,
Depart, implore, divine.
In our minds adventure is always listening
Just stay here
The world isn't always listening
Disappear
Suffer in endless doubt
Holding onto the memories as they fade away.
These thoughts and sorrows will not remain.
Never forget.
RIP Kerry King's oreos
Are you wearing a Periphery horse shirt? Poser
Hahahaha 😂
Rip karp
Periphery horse
This will always be my favorite Periphery song. I still remember... It's 2010, I'm on my way to school and it's summer and sunny. I'm listening to Periphery for the first time on my mp3-player and the 3:00 section starts and it feels like the perfect moment.
That Spartacus clip, aw man good times
@@TheSpawol Oh yes, almost forgot about that!
And I'm having a smoke in the alley next to my old warehouse just making every stank face possible to this groove haha, better times indeed.
man dat spartacus clip!!! miss those days so fuckin much best time of my entire life fuucck
I remember my rich friend bringing his ipod touch 5-6th gen to school and we listening to this song in those stupid old apple earphones. It was so worth it, I would give anything to go back to those days ❤
"That's a deftones shirt"
"I was told at hot topic it's periphery horse"
Well one night in Houston I seen periphery w deftones. We met them, Steph & Sergio. Steph was a big fan. He had their merch on. Spencer just got his white pony tattoo lol he showed us ..so I wonder what they're talking about. Hmm.
Love this band 💘
2024 and this albums still slaps
hard
Always has been my friend
Totally 👍🏼
This song sounds familiar.
sounds like bad meshuggah
ALL I CAN HEAR IS DJENT DUDE
periphery horse
Sounds like Skrillexcore
It's a song for djenerates
Easily one of Periphery's most underrated songs, so heavy yet so melodic and beautiful at the same time
RIP SLAYER RIP JEFF HANDLEBAR RIP CHUCK SHULMACHER RIP PERIPHERY RIP 1-0-1-0-0-0-1-0-0-1~

+G. Reis Are you on meth?
Oh dayum son
This isn't Slayer...
No shit. It clearly says Periphery.
Ryzym You don't get the joke
iHEARTthrash13 Yes, I do. I made a captain obvious comment to yours.
Ryzym u still dont get it
Blackened's Dumping Ground It's Periphery Horse.
every song on this album is incredible. astonishing.
unlike other genres, music like this does not become obsolete
long live sumerian!
long live Djent!
It's still their best album hands down
@@HugoStiglitz88 It is, but you won't hear too many Nu-Periphery fans say that
@@Quaker763 That's fair enough, it's not the sound they got hooked on. I guess I'm one of those fans, but I can appreciate their older sound even if it isn't my favorite.
Like fuck...every time a permutating figure pops up its always fire no matter when they did it.
@@HugoStiglitz88 It's definitely P1 or P2. Both albums are incredible in their own way, but after P2, things definitely changed.
As much as I miss the days of 2008-2012, I do still like what they make now.
This song is epic while you're working out. ROWWWW , AS WE ROOWW!
Omg I love this band so much. Periphery was the soundtrack to a great summer with great friends, ah the memories
Hell yeah, nothing like driving for hours with Periphery's playlist
4:10 gives me goosebumps everytime.
It's so gorgeous
1:52 same thing
yeah, long live the periphery horse
To date, my MOST FAVOURITE Periphery track!!
I hear the curse of Djent every time i listen to the intro....
"The guitars, the drums and the vocals ( which are not convenient ) ... are good" - cit.
"which have not come in yet"
Okay I've been listening to Periphery for years
BUT KARPIZZLE FUCKING RUINED THIS SONG FOR ME
lol
couldn't have said it better
Sounds like bad Meshuggah (reference... I actually love Periphery's first album plz don't kill me)
hahhhahahah
rip kerry king
rip jeff handlebar
LOOL
Gargaloyd 😹😹
slaaayerrr
Kerry King's not even dead.
Thanks Karpizzle
Whatever happened to him anyway
Still loving this album in 2021 fuck whatcha heard this shit is OG periphery and I’m from Maryland so I claim them as locals. Still carrying the Djent game into the future that’s why I’ll always love them. This is a relic of the past
all I hear is djent! this guy put a curse in me so now all I hear is djent! - Jhoffilms
Spencer is an AMAZING vocalist. Plain and simple. Plain and fucking simple.
Absolutely 💯
Damn the feels at "Deep in the silence...." the best part :') easily the best song off this album imo
The djent demon dragged me here... thanks Karpizzle
Periphery horse
Dude all I can hear is Djent!
R.I.P Kerry King
I live John Bodham's drum work in this band.
Even in the 60s Bonham was a genius
I love this song. It's like jazz but metal.
It's called prog metal
@@k4shey I know what it is. And not all prog metal fuses jazz with djent, that what's I love about Periphery and a few other bands.
@@pablo-arteaga nonono, even if periphery mostly djent, they are still prog metal in general (and some songs like marigold aren't djent) and prog metal already include jazz, fusion, etc and combined with metal, so it's prog, and djent is subgenre of prog metal
Yeah, and this is awesome
jetal
Two banger solos in one song
this entire album reminds me of great times in my life after this album was released during a tough transition in my life to living a life being broke all the time and working my ass off to having my own company♥️💪I listened to this album every single day back then I always have great memories from that era of my life,I used these songs to motivate my ass to work harder to achieve my goals of having a successful buisness & moving into a much bigger place as I had my first born son on the way 😮 that time my girlfriend was pregnant
Same! I have listened to their latest album countless times since it came out and am now realizing how good their older stuff is. Periphery is an incredible band...
9 years already. What a journey
11.... 😔
Holy crap that last bit at the end around 6:16 is the start to Jetpacks...GOSH I love finding these things!!!!!!
As much as i love the super bad ass djent riffs from Omega and P3, I really do miss pieces like this from their earlier stuff from P1 and P2. The instrumentals of their earlier stuff always hits me in the feels :')
Blood eagle should help. :)
@@magiaburst 😂 bro I'm loving it
Agreed.. It makes me feel like I'm listening to the past, present and future.
Ahhh. Some great memories with this song
I could not think of a better vocalist for this band.
I don't like his vocals at all
1:02 When you try to get that last bit of milkshake with your straw
For some reason 3:42 is my favorite part of the whole song. I get goosebumps every time. Depart, implore, diviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
What about? 1:59
Dude that part is just fantastic. After all these years it still hits my heart.
Best song off P1 💯🔥💯🤘🏼
It djented as soon as i hit the ball it djented
"This sounds like Bad Meshuggah" -Karpizzle
+Kawaii Imouto The fuck is this? this isnt slayer, this isnt the same note being picked at 200 BPM!!
Gargaloyd 666 Such a pitiful being who doesn't get the joke from Jhofffilms.
ALL I HEAR IS DJENT
@@USHARDY slayer... Slayer... Sl.. Oooh noooo
@@RacecaR08 he is talking about jhofffilms
literally a perfect song wtf
The albums in that year, The Discovery and In Dreams, damn!!
This band takes what any rock genre has become and makes a great sound.
Was that the band were John Bonham was in, in the late 60´s ?
I listen to this wearing a Deftones shirt 👌
And a Slayer hoodie.
Daniel Monaghan Haha, I almost forgot it 😂
slayer is in the past
+Lisbeth that`s good or bad? lol
Carlos Guzmán Good xD RIP K0rry K0ng.
Thats what I like about this guy. He's just like Chad Gray, or Corey Taylor. He can scream and growl like a demon and sing like an angel.
Spencer is a badass lol
I don't like his clean vocals. It's like BFMV
"Djent ,ugh it's for degenerates !!!" - Karpizzle
This isn't slayer !!!- also Karpizzle
Exactly, once the vocals come, the song isn't just great, ITS AMAZING
God as my witness, the more and more I listen to this band (even their older stuff like this), the more I fall in love with them. By far my favorite band of all time, and one of the best that's out there both lyrically and musically. So fucking glad I found these guys.

Your boat, gently down the stream...
Djently
My favorite song by them lyrically and compositionally.
Honestly, I love where Periphery has grown from here. I think they're only gotten better, with this stuff already being good (and more innovative).
U think new shitty repetativing album is better than that?
This was the band in wich Jhon Bonham was in the 60´s?
after the coke, yes
No, nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnno
This is a song by Periphery off the first album, Periphery... one... called Letter Experiment. I play for you now.
What is this? oh my god, that's disgusting, sounds like bad messhugah
Spencer is one of the best modern music singers on Earth. Period.
3:23 - 4:54 is one of my favourite sections of music ever. beautifully written
I'd say it's the feeling you get hearing "In our minds adventure is always listening, just stay here, the world isn't always listening, disappear." That's how it is for me... haha
the first periphery song I ever heard!
I don't usually like this kinda music, but these guys are something special. I totally dig it.
Well said.. Seamlessly jumping between singing and screaming is probably the hardest thing to do as a vocalist.. He's not jumping from screaming to whiny little pop punk vocals either.. He's jumping from screaming to pure, clean and powerful vocals.. Easily one of the most talent vocalist in metal.
One of the greatest song of the world. 7years listening, help chakras xD
Still listening in 2019 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'll still be listening to this in 2025.. Any year I'm alive really.
2020 here :)
2020 and still listening
Who's hear for Bad Mussugah with cleans?
Mark Dann Only time i not is when i jerk off.
Never gets old for me this absolute banger.
Pffft listen to this with 1.5x
get ready to bop
and THEN listen to it again with a higher speed and listen to chaos unfold.
karpizzle (jhofffilms) brought me here
me too
david Riggenbach LOL same
we all came because of him
Never heard of him.
so good. bulb was chilln before then you got this hahaha
"This isn't Slayer! This isn't the same note being plucked repeatedly at 200 bpm! What the fuck!" - Karpizzle
Still love this song misha! P1 remaster please :')
I'm not much of a Djent fan but I really dig the technical aspect of this style. It takes mathematical timing to perform breakdowns like the ones in this song. The leads are pretty sweet too. I also love this atmospheric effect of the techno and dubstep parts thrown in during the clean sections.
Spencer could make sleeping with sirens sound like gods fucking hell his voice is insane
Brendon stacey dude I was totally thinking the same thing.
ROW! ROW!
In our minds, adventure is always listening. Just stay here! The world isn't always listening. Disappear!!!!!
Favorite song
nice to hear the good sold periphery, I miss those experimental riffs ...
Nascent djent at its formative best.... Misha Mansoor and Matt halpern absolute beasts..... not just a chug fest.... truly well thought out music.... \m/
Your opinion. Spencer is one of few modern singers who can sing both clean and screamed vocals and is great at both. He has a broad vocal range, keeps on working and getting better, is still young, has great stage presence, comes up with great melodic lines and lyric ideas and has a great band to support him. In my list he is in the top 3 frontmen in any metal band.
This isn't Slayer, sounds like bad Meshuggah
Karpizzle :D
yeah like what the fuck is this this isn't the same note be picked over and over again at 200 bpm this isn't slayer
"RIP King"
Titan Thief23 Rip Handlebar
slayer slayer slayer... RIP Kerry King
Oh, no! I've just been cursed by the djent!
This is good, why I haven't i found this earlier?
How I felt when I found periphery
Curse of the Djent
Sounds like Skrillexcore.
What does skrillex have to do with any of this?
@@RacecaR08 It's literally Skrillexcore.
Lol. I’d love to see some Skrillex with polyrythms. Smh another noob who knows nothing about music
