"I wrote this about the transition from one relationship to another. It’s about that shift in relationships. It’s about a rather quick transition." When i read this , this song became more touching than i thought.
What if you had to take a dump really bad and when you saw them… you minimized the moment because it was either pooping yourself or asking them to leave?
my only crime was being born in the wrong time period.. I was born in 2007 my all time favorite band is grizzly bear they are musical geniuses, I beat myself up at the fact that I will probably never be able to see them
This is one of the best songs I have ever heard. It's just so dark and honest. I'm just naturally drawn to any deep song about relationships.. From their daytrotter session, the band said: "I wrote this about the transition from one relationship to another. It's about that shift in relationships. It's about a rather quick transition." I just find this to be a very pure song. These are the type of songs I love. I'm into Indie bands who sing this sort of stuff. I rate it highly.
I don't understand why Ready, Able is less recognized. That and Foreground, Southern Point and All We Ask are all equally as amazing, if not even MORE amazing.
This is not just music, this is art I always have the sad scenes from Blue Valentine in my head and could cry, this is sososo beautiful, they really bring me to the point to touch me so hard with this song
I remember stumbling upon this for the first time in the early 2000s . . . Brilliant song!! And this is a brilliant video!! It holds up, to state the obvious . . .
Harmonischer, tiefgreifender, ergreifender und schöner kann kein Lied mehr klingen, das Lied berührt zu tiefst, obwohl ich nicht einmal verstehe was die werten Herren das singen! Bravo...
This is so beautiful. The song itself, yes, but the way the filming presents the song as well. Searching the rooms and then finding them in the bathroom, and then the gradual moving out of the bathroom towards the end. Makes me get chills, and my heart pound.
Saw this way back and didn't make much of it. The tune was haunting and I had to go back. 12 years later and I am still a die hard fan trying to see them everytime when they tour europe. Great many thanks La Blogothèque, why can't youtube be more like you.
Great collaboration of film making and atmospheric music. Can't make out the lyrics, but who cares because the overall sound is so beautifully evocative. I'll think about this video for ages and definitely revisit.
the best written music comes from the soul of the writer. your understanding of yourself and those around you is most important. you just have to mean what you say, and it will be beautiful, because its honest.
Baby, I've got silver and I've got gold But when push comes to shove, this is getting old I wouldn't have it any other way No, I wouldn't have it any other way And when you call I'll be there There I wouldn't have it any other way
words cannot express the beauty of this song. what has happen to art? luckily their are a few people that share themselves with everyone and it brings the people that listen to the music wisdom, insight and comfort.
ok, it's been 7 years, this deserves to be reuploaded in HQ... 240p has it's charm and all, but at least for the sound quality, this is tooooo beautiful to stay like this forever...
They had an exceptional live show this last monday at the Granada in Dallas. I was iffy about the band, but their live performance was harmonious perfection. I hope they continue making music for many more years to come.
I still come back to this video. It's been quite a while since I left a comment about it but it still amazes me. I love everything Grizzly Bear has done and the people at Lablogotheque. Cheers!
I was so thinking that earlier today because I watched Fleet Foxes' take away show and was utterly swooned by it, then I came across this....how perfect would such a collaboration be?
I saw them open for Radiohead in Indy and it was soo good, but the concert at the Michigan Theater just topped everything I've ever seen. It was unbelievable.
Very stylish GB, where audio/visual expression fits hand in glove to beckon the viewer and beguile with something refreshingly different. Thumbs up to this stuff.
16 years later, and I’m still here. Wow does time fly. 🥰
Love that me too
100%. Still here for it. Just as hauntingly beautiful as ever
ditto
I cant believe it's been that long... where have I been

Top tier comment
18 years later i just remembered this and had to come watch
It's a crime that so few people got to hear this band, like they are absolutely between the best music bands in history.
I mean as far as indie bands go they were pretty visible
"I wrote this about the transition from one relationship to another. It’s about that shift in relationships. It’s about a rather quick transition."
When i read this , this song became more touching than i thought.
I would love to come home and find Grizzly Bear singing in my bathroom.
I'd have many questions but would still wait for them to finish before getting around to making them.
What if you had to take a dump really bad and when you saw them… you minimized the moment because it was either pooping yourself or asking them to leave?
still gives me goosebumps years later
haha I had to come back to make sure it would
Man, unbelievable. I have to admit this band catches me off guard. The whistling thing was pretty cool. Very relaxing, introspective
I cannot believe it’s been 17 years. The chokehold this video had on me in 2007.
my only crime was being born in the wrong time period.. I was born in 2007 my all time favorite band is grizzly bear they are musical geniuses, I beat myself up at the fact that I will probably never be able to see them

Endless euphoria listening to grizzly bear. Truly. 🍃
The camera shots are so organic and experimental I love it and it's interesting to see how your technique has grown over the years
The most beautiful sound to come out of a bathroom that I have ever heard
I will always treasure this video and performance.
THIS IS LITERALLY PERFECTION.
Wonderful!My dog loves it too
He always shows up when they start to whistle :)

This can be the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while on this website. I admire Grizzly Bear with all my heart.
From 2:56 - 4:07 , I want to cry or laugh or scream, or everything all at once. What kind of perfection is this?
Back again for the 300,000,000 time….still crying
I don't understand why Ready, Able is less recognized. That and Foreground, Southern Point and All We Ask are all equally as amazing, if not even MORE amazing.
This is not just music, this is art

This always makes me feel relaxed after feeling stressed from the day.
It's 2019 and I still thinking that this is one of my favorite song!
Even 2020
Agreed in 2021
How does this performance not have a billion views??
This is still one of the most haunting performances I've ever heard/seen...deep. I still whistle along so sadly.
Can’t believe we used to watch videos uploaded in this quality and it was normal lol great song though
I remember stumbling upon this for the first time in the early 2000s . . . Brilliant song!! And this is a brilliant video!! It holds up, to state the obvious . . .

That clarinet is such a wonderful & distinct element that gives this acoustic set just what it needs! ^5 to these guys! They know music!!
This is so beautiful. The song itself, yes, but the way the filming presents the song as well. Searching the rooms and then finding them in the bathroom, and then the gradual moving out of the bathroom towards the end. Makes me get chills, and my heart pound.
Having recently seen them live and watched this and 'Knife' on youtube, that's it. I'm sold. I'm in love. I want to be this music.
blimy 13 years later, are you still this music?
i have so many memories tied to this band...perfect for ever trip.. they make me cry & they make me smile. i will always love them
17 YEARS!? Oh my. I remember very clearly when this came out. I officially feel old 😵💫
There’s a special place in my heart for this song and video
the steps and the knock at the beginning are to the beat.
what a lovely song.
Oh, thank goodness this reappeared in my universe after many years.
jesus christ !
this is so pure. so soothing.
these fellas got it man
This is sooooooo good. Please re-upload a higher quality version. It so deserves it. It is a crying shame that it's so hard to watch!
Sometimes it isn't just a song or a band, but it's a particular instance of a song by a band. This is so nice.
Wow 17 years ago... I still remember watching this the day it released on this channel XD I feel old. I would of been 16. Still a great song
Saw this way back and didn't make much of it. The tune was haunting and I had to go back. 12 years later and I am still a die hard fan trying to see them everytime when they tour europe. Great many thanks La Blogothèque, why can't youtube be more like you.
These guys are the only band that can pull that off. That was more unplugged than anything MTV has produced.
the vibe created in this version is just perfect...
I honestly think that they are the best band i've seen perform live in terms of vocal talent. Every member of the band has soooo much talent
This is absolutely mind-blowing. I cannot wait to see them again on the 5th November. I'm in love, with ALL of them.
Omg I want this song to be played all the time everywhere.
First thing I've seen from Grizzly Bear. Loving the shit out of them ever since. Thanks La Blogothèque
watching this felt like warm tea down my throat...in a good way
Great collaboration of film making and atmospheric music. Can't make out the lyrics, but who cares because the overall sound is so beautifully evocative. I'll think about this video for ages and definitely revisit.
They have such quality sound, in a bathroom!!! I watch this waaaay to much but it continues to mesmerize me.

Simply beautiful.....They're voices don't need to be heavily edited or even edited all like most musicians these days.
Baby, I've got silver and I've got gold
But when push comes to shove, this is getting old
I wouldn't have it any other way
No, I wouldn't have it any other way
And when you call I'll be there
There
I wouldn't have it any other way
words cannot express the beauty of this song. what has happen to art? luckily their are a few people that share themselves with everyone and it brings the people that listen to the music wisdom, insight and comfort.
This is a perfect song
LaBlogotheque should make a best of album with all the best recordings they have. I would buy it, wouldn't you?
They would easily have my money
I watch this about 8+ times a day.
True story.
My heart melts every time.
I feel so old going back through these videos. What a time.
It's almost not fair how beautiful their music is.
this is incredible. a simple song, done so casually here, but it takes you on such a ride.
ok, it's been 7 years, this deserves to be reuploaded in HQ... 240p has it's charm and all, but at least for the sound quality, this is tooooo beautiful to stay like this forever...
This is one of the most beautiful things human ears will ever hear. There is no argument.
These guys make it look so easy. This is one of the most awesome things I've ever seen.
can't wait to see them with radiohead! they sound like a paul simon and 3 garfunkles!
they are angels. they look and sound like heaven.
Espere tanto por esto, que no se si estoy triste por la nostalgia o feliz por encontrala :'3
They had an exceptional live show this last monday at the Granada in Dallas.
I was iffy about the band, but their live performance was harmonious perfection. I hope they continue making music for many more years to come.

this song is the most beautiful thing i have ever heard.

Thee most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed.
i love this band..this is one of those bands that sound so good live ..sometimes they sound better than the album version
One of my favorite bands, shows how talented they are.
I was so thinking that earlier today because I watched Fleet Foxes' take away show and was utterly swooned by it, then I came across this....how perfect would such a collaboration be?
man listening to grizzly bear you realize how fresh they really are in the music scene
I always come back to this video for exposure to artful video production and tasteful music - this is a superb blend.
Saw these guys in Toronto - pure perfection
Just beautiful, such a gorgeous dimension on a beautiful song.

I saw them open for Radiohead in Indy and it was soo good, but the concert at the Michigan Theater just topped everything I've ever seen. It was unbelievable.
