@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout hey! Big fan. Just so you know there are many Supercuts of these hobbits movies that I strongly recommend to ppl who do not enjoy the lengthy hobbits
I’ve been working for about 2 years on a 3 hour edit of the Hobbit trilogy into one film. It’s nearly finished as a watchable rough cut. Contact me if you’re interested in seeing it and I’ll send you a link. I think it’s really good! It’s faster paced and more focused on Bilbo. I replaced some of the score with music from Lord of the Rings. The “I am fire, I am death” line transitions seamlessly to Smaug attacking Laketown. There’s still some work to be done, but it’s in a good state to watch as it is.
You had the entire Star Wars OT at the top, and that's me with LOTR. They're my three favorite movies of all time. As for a ranking, I think each one gets better and better. Two Towers may have its pacing problems, but the emotional highs of the ending with the battle of Helm's Deep, the last march of the Ents, and Sam's friggin beautiful speech put it slightly higher than Fellowship for me
Yea. Personally I have been a fan of Star Wars for longer, just what I grew up with. But the lord of the rings movies are absolutely perfect. I really can’t pick more than a few nitpicks with that Trilogy, and non of them are ground breaking. I sometimes get bored rewatching Star Wars videos, not with Lord of the rings. I can do research on the topic for hours. (Obviously exaggerated 😂 but points stands.)
My ranking with two notes. 1: It's been a long time since I've seen some of these films (particularly Narnia and some of the Potter films). 2: I've yet to see Secrets of Dumbledore. 1. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring 2. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 3. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 4. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 5. Star Wars: A New Hope 6. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 7. Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban 8. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 9. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe 10. Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 11. The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug 12. Harry Potter & Half Blood Prince 13. Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire 14. Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 1 15. Solo: A Star Wars Story 16. Harry Potter & the Sorcerers Stone 17. Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix 18. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 19. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones 20. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 21. Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets 22. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 23. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 24. The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Tredder 29. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 30. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindawald Also for a future 31 on 31, you should do the highest grossing animated franchises (Despicable Me, Shrek, Ice Age, Toy Story, Frozen, Madagascar, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles).

The two towers 4. Empire strikes back 5. Rogue One 6. A new hope 7. Prisoner of Azkaban 8. Philosopher's Stone 9. Return of the jedi 10. The lion, the witch and the wardrobe 11. @@marko9463 Altough I disagree with Sean's list in this particular film; I also can understand his criticsm, specially because Battle of the Five Armies is the Middle Earth picture that got cut the most to save things for the extended edition, including some vital scenes that close plot points
I love it too, it’s one of my favorite Harry Potter movies. It also felt like a breath of fresh air after 6 movies in Hogwarts, and I love how much it focuses on the main trio and the conflict it puts them in
I think it's criminally underrated. It nails the character moments the franchise is known for but the grown up thriller story felt refreshing after 6 movies. It may be a clear Part 1 but I've always thought it was unfairly hated.
Nothing has hit me quite like LOTR did. They are my favorite movies of all time, so they'd definitely be 1-3 for me. As for the others... Star wars is freaking amazing! (One of the best movies ever) Harry Potter is pretty great as well! Fantastic beasts and Hobbit could be better. And I'm not the biggest Narnia fan.
I love seeing how far your opinion has come on both Revenge of the Sith and the LOTR trilogy! I remember you saying you weren't a big LOTR fan, so it's nice to see how high in the rankings those films placed. And I often feel like Revenge of the Sith doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Great video!
@Samuel-fv6ze Agreed! I know the prequels have their issues but I enjoy them just as much as the original trilogy and Revenge of the Sith is still my favourite Star Wars movie.
Love 31 on 31. A lot of us do. It's a ton of watch time for you and always a big video. This putting this here to remind you that we love it and thank you for all the hours of work you put into these videos. 👍👍👍 Especially with these series that were integral in the childhood's of all of us. Maybe not all of them but they span a long time and are very important to many generations.
These are so hard to rank for me. I love each and every one of these franchises, but here are my top 10. My top 3 are always my top 3, but my 4-10 are constantly changing as I rewatch those. 10. Chamber of secrets 9. A new hope 8. The goblet of fire 7. The sorcerer’s stone 6. The empire strikes back 5. Deathly hallows pt 2 4. Return of the Jedi 3. The two towers 2. The fellowship of the ring 1. The return of the king
1. Lord of the Rings trilogy 2. Star Wars trilogy (original) 3. Prisoner of Azkaban 4. Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 5. Order of the Phoenix 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Desolation of Smaug 8. Rogue one 9. The rest
24:25 "They trimmed some things they probably shouldn't have trimmed" that cut to Aslan is perfect xD I get how you mean for pacing of the film but that slide was perfect (subtle spoiler without context xD)

Such a fun watch, I love your videos. I love Fantasy; it's one of my favourite genres along with horror and action. BIG Star Wars fan, even for the prequels. I grew up with Star Wars but the prequels were the first ones I could see at the cinema and be around for the merchandising so I was in heaven.
Top 5: 5. Fellowship of the Ring 4. The Two Towers 3. The Last Jedi 2. Empire Strikes Back 1. Return of the King I love LOTR so much, I have watched all of the movies over 20 times each, I grew up with Star Wars, I like the hobbit films, though I will admit they have major flaws (first one is my fav), i have never seen chronicles of narnia or fantastic beasts, and I am not a huge harry potter fan, but I thoroughly enjoy the movies. Great video Sean! Been watching for 4 years, love the content and keep up the great work!!
My top 10: 10: A New Hope 9. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 8. Rogue One 7. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 6. The Return of the Jedi 5. LOTR: The Two Towers 4. Revenge of the Sith 3. LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring 2. The Empire Strikes Back 1. LOTR: The Return of the King Man these are hard to rank😂😂
My Top 5: 5: A New Hope 4: Fellowship of the Ring 3: Revenge of The Sith 2: The Empire Strikes Back 1: Return of the King Honorable Mentions: The Two Towers and Rogue One
1. Harry Potter (my favourite episode is Prisoner of Azkaban) 2. Star Wars (my favourite episode is Revenge of the Sith) 3. Lord of the Rings (my favourite episode is The Return of the King) 4. The Hobbit (my favourite episode is An Unexpected Journey) 5. Narnia (my favourite episode is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe)
I havent seen Narnia, but here is my ranking of the rest 28. The Rise of Skywalker 27. The Phantom Menace 26. Attack of the Clones 25. The Crimes of Grindelwald 24. The Goblet of Fire 23. The Battle of the five armies 22. Revenge of the Sith 21. The Desolation of Smaug 20. Fantastic Beasts and where to find them 19. Rouge one 18. The Last Jedi 17. The Half blood Prince 16. The Fellowship of the Ring
Good to see the Fellowship respect. I think it’s easily the best in the trilogy, even though all 3 are brilliant films. The big one I disagree with is the low rating for Revenge of the Sith. It’s a top 5 for me. Great list though mate. 👍👍
Really enjoyed your video alot. I love these 31 on 31 videos. Here is my ranking from best to worst but I haven't seen all of the movies so I will do just the ones I've watched. 1. Empire strikes back 2. Return of the jedi 3. A new hope 4. The order of the Phoenix 5. Deathly Hallows part 2 6. Return of the king 7. The rise of skywalker 8. The fellowship of the rings 9. Personally love the ST. Even with lack of planning I was still into the story being told. To be fair I’m also a Star Wars apologist as I enjoy the PT as well. My biggest challenge in ranking would be the battle of LOTR and SW OT. Both of those are top tier and I go back and forth which I enjoy most.
Sean, you literally made my day by putting episodes 1 and 2 above episodes 8 and 9. Maybe one day you might even give the Phantom Menace a "fresh" score on rotten tomatoes (it needs one) and maybe even change the title of your "How to fix TPM" video to something more respectful like "How to IMPROVE TPM" or "How I would make TPM." Also, it is not a crazy hot take to like the prequels, any more than it is to like the sequels, "which I personally hate." You don't need to explain yourself. Also, I know I've been doing a lot of criticism but I do enjoy your videos and just want them to be as good as they can. (And also live in a world where nobody attacks the prequels, the actors in them, and George Lucas)
Unlike many, I enjoyed the Hobbit movies.I don't over think them,Not as good as the Lord of the Rings As for the Star Wars movies I never liked the prequels at all. I liked the later 3 better. But the original Star Wars the best, Good job on ranking 31 movies ,I don't think (no I know) I could do it.
@@SDfan2002 How can you even say that. I hate the sequels with a PASSION, and even I have to admit that they have received too much hate. Even if the writing and acting was as bad as people said, it still wouldn't excuse the ridiculous amount of targeted hatred that everyone involved has gotten. If you don't like the prequels, fine. If hate them as much as I hate the sequels, I'm sorry for you. If you justify or agree with the worst of the prequel hate, then, I don't know what to say.

Star Wars is space fantasy (space opera). It has more in common with fantasy than science fiction. In fact when it start looking too much under the hood, it starts diverging from the magic. Star Wars rarely examines the nature of the technology or its implications which is a common theme to more science fiction based stories like Star Trek. Also it has a base supernatural element (the Force) which is fundamental to the story. Another series which started more in science fiction but has diverged into fantasy the further it goes along is Dr. Who.
@@exhaustguy it does explore some sci-Fi elements such as clones and planet super weapons, so it has science fiction in its DNA, however it is primarily a fantasy.

Revenge of the Sith is my favourite Star Wars movie. For all its flaws I love it. It's such a powerful story of shattered love, betrayal and a hero's fall to the dark.

I love all of these franchises. Narnia is frustrating through. It never seemed like they figured out what they wanted to do with that one. Also, they’re probably never going to complete that iteration of the film series. You’re right, the hobbit is frustrating. I have always appreciated that they adapted some of the stories and mythology that Tolkien wrote about later. Also it would’ve probably been better as two movies. I know Peter Jackson originally wanted to do. But the studio wanted a trilogy. 🙄

Fellowship of the Ring 5. Return of the Jedi 4. Goblet of Fire 3. A New Hope 2. Return of the King 1. Empire Strikes Back
These are all great but the Lord of the Rings trilogy is truly the greatest achievement in the history of film in my opinion, so my top 3 will always be 3. Two Towers 2. Fellowship of the Ring 1. Return of the King
I flip flop so much on Star Wars and LOTR for which one had the biggest impact on my childhood. I think as of today it'd be. 1. Revenge of the Sith 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. Fellowship of the Ring 4. Return of the King 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Two Towers Helms Deep is my favorite fantasy battle ever put to film, but the rest of the film doesn't flow as well as Fellowship and Return for me. The OT and LOTR have all maintained their level of quality for me, but ROTS has gotten better for me as I've gotten older, I know objectively it isn't as good as those other 5 films, but it has this weird hold on me, especially after Clone Wars S7.
I’ll give you props for admitting straight up you disagreed with what TLJ was trying to do and not politicising your critiques of the sequel trilogy. Which only makes me angrier with people who do the latter.
I haven’t seen or read Harry Potter, but I have read (just not seen) Narnia. 1. Return of the King 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. The Two Towers 4. A New Hope 5. The Fellowship of the Ring 6. Rogue One 7. Return of the Jedi 8. Revenge of the Sith 9. The Force Awakens 10. Desolation of Smaug 11. The Phantom Menace 12. Solo 13. Attack of the Clones 14. An Unexpected Journey 15. The Battle of the Five Armies 16. The Rise of Skywalker 17. The Last Jedi
Since I only saw star wars after the prequels I never thought about how boba fett being a clone was not always established. I can see how it would be weird and it is an odd choice but they do have some fun stuff with it in clone wars so idk
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout No rush I just love seeing what you think. Personally I think this should have been released weekly. Having 7 really long episodes release at once is so much to binge. I think weekly releases would have been so much more fun in regards to review channels and speculation etc

I Havent Seen Hobbit or Narnia: 1.A New Hope 2.Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone 3.The Phantom Menace (Many of you will think this placing is ridiculous but I have a ton of Nostalgia for this film) 4.Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets 5.Empire Strikes Back 6.Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 7.Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 8.The Force Awakens 9.Rogue One 10.Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 11.Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 12.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 13.Return of the Jedi 14.Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore 15. Honestly except for crimes of grindewald, i loved all films. Just some films were better than others for me. I really like the rise of skywalker but if the would have done Star Wars: The rise of skywalker part 1 and then part 2, it would have been better since they needed a lot to tell at the end of a brilliant saga
Glad to be finally home from work and watch Sean I’m actually Curious how he’s gonna rank The Chronicles of Narnia I don’t think I’ve been him rent those yet
I haven't seen the Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit franchise yet, but I will. Here is what I have seen. Where is star trek?
@@samcerbone6259 Ehhh Star Trek is sci-fi not fantasy. There's also already 31 movies.
Btw Azog is just an orc leader in my cut instead of a main antagonist. I have a few scenes from my Hobbit edit on my channel as a preview
You had the entire Star Wars OT at the top, and that's me with LOTR. They're my three favorite movies of all time. As for a ranking, I think each one gets better and better. Two Towers may have its pacing problems, but the emotional highs of the ending with the battle of Helm's Deep, the last march of the Ents, and Sam's friggin beautiful speech put it slightly higher than Fellowship for me
fellowship is the best imo it probably wont be beatin by another movie in our lifetime
Spoiler alert… **** you bro bro
Two Towers is absolutely the weakest of the three. Without question.
LOTR are far better quality movies. But if you like sci-fi better than fantasy can't blame those who prefer Star Wars.
My top 5:
5. A New Hope
4. The Two Towers
3. Fellowship of the Ring
2. The Empire Strikes Back
1. Return of the King

top 3 is perfect
I agree battle of the 5 armies was a blast definitely criminally underrated by sean
@@marko9463 Altough I disagree with Sean's list in this particular film; I also can understand his criticsm, specially because Battle of the Five Armies is the Middle Earth picture that got cut the most to save things for the extended edition, including some vital scenes that close plot points
I personally love Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 1 it had alot of character development for me
I love it too, it’s one of my favorite Harry Potter movies.
Who knew Sean would have a *MAGICAL* time ranking these movies?!

My thoughts exactly
I love seeing how far your opinion has come on both Revenge of the Sith and the LOTR trilogy! I remember you saying you weren't a big LOTR fan, so it's nice to see how high in the rankings those films placed. And I often feel like Revenge of the Sith doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Great video!

Yo fellow Sequel Trilogy fan!!
I love it too. Theresa a lot of things about it i don't like but they don't ruin it for me
You like it? How? 🤨
You do a great job on these longer videos! Always interesting!!
Unlike many, I enjoyed the Hobbit movies.I don't over think them,Not as good as the Lord of the Rings
As for the Star Wars movies I never liked the prequels at all. I liked the
later 3 better. But the original Star Wars the best,
Good job on ranking 31 movies ,I don't think (no I know) I could do it.
George Lucas is a straight up bad person, he was going to make Indiana Jones a PEDOPHILE.
And the Prequels deserve all of the hate they have received
@@SDfan2002 How can you even say that. I hate the sequels with a PASSION, and even I have to admit that they have received too much hate. Even if the writing and acting was as bad as people said, it still wouldn't excuse the ridiculous amount of targeted hatred that everyone involved has gotten. If you don't like the prequels, fine. If hate them as much as I hate the sequels, I'm sorry for you. If you justify or agree with the worst of the prequel hate, then, I don't know what to say.

Oh yeah this seems like an epic ranking
(Interesting that Star Wars is included here but then again it is basically a fantasy story in space so;)
Star Wars is space fantasy (space opera).

With several years of reflection, I would easily rather rewatch the prequels than Last Jedi. Despite it having some pretty shots and moments, I do not like the movie. So I officially now have it in last.

I understand why people don't like the Hobbit trilogy, but i personally adore those movies!
I loved the battle of the 5 armies! Was pure battle and it was amazing.

Fully agree except Fellowship is number 1 for me, what a perfect movie that is

Helms Deep is my favorite fantasy battle ever put to film, but the rest of the film doesn't flow as well as Fellowship and Return for me. The OT and LOTR have all maintained their level of quality for me, but ROTS has gotten better for me as I've gotten older, I know objectively it isn't as good as those other 5 films, but it has this weird hold on me, especially after Clone Wars S7.
