My first exposure to George Carlin was through his narration of the early seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine, which I later found out was a far cry from his usual thing. I personally pictured a George Carlin sitcom lending itself better to Comedy Central, rather than something on Fox. Guess that's what you get when he isn't the man in charge.
I also fist heard George Carlin on Thomas the Tank Engine, and I too later found out that it was quite the contrast from his other work.
Carlin was extremely based and had zero tolerance to bullshit. It’s understandable that he’d feel so drained in such a controlling environment.
Not everybody is cut out to handle the rigors of a sitcom. Nell Carter and Joel Higgins could do it in the 80s because they had the stage experience to back it up. The trend of giving sitcoms to comedians and making them clean up their act for TV goes at least as far back as *Sanford and Son.* This show, in theory, should have worked. Look at the pedigree of the people behind it. They were not inclined to produce crap and assume the audience will eat it nonetheless. But even Babe Ruth struck out every now and then.
Two and a Half Men VS The Network would be crazy.
I can sympathize with George Carlin because he didn’t ask for his sitcom, one that would bring negative experience to everyone involved.
And from here I thought The Weird Al Show was a miserable mess behind the scenes.
Sam Simon was a vegan, and that affected his behavior and his short lifespan. He was basically a carbohydrate addict.

Carlin's Family also wrote 3 episodes. His brother wrote as did his Daughter.
Also most comedians don't direct episodes. Jerry didn't direct an episode, Neither did Larry David
The Looney Tunes Show (2011) VS The Network. What happens when Nostalgia becomes toxic.
Here are the main problems on why The Looney Tunes Show got canceled early in the first place.
1.Despite this show was based on a successful franchise Cartoon Network, didn't give a shit that much about it, compare it to Adventure Time, Gumball, Regular Show, and Steven Universe, Looney Tunes Show wasn't the smash hit in the ratings.
2.The Looney Tunes Show, was a pretty expensive show to make and if it's not getting the ratings compare to the other shows at the time, it was like throwing money away.
3.Finally the fact that this had a very different tone to the rest of the other Looney Tunes adaptations, I believe that's what bit this show in the ass. Regardless what you think of The Looney Tunes Show, and how many fans it got over the years but you can't ignore the facts there are a group of classic Looney Tunes fans hating too different this show when it first came out complaining how this wasn't Looney Tunes the characters were flanderized and overall not giving it a chance.

@@sjmhadsock4586 I also stumbled upon his comedy as a teen. It’s amazing that he kept his energy up his entire life. Even in 2008, he can still make people laugh.

maybe its just the job of the executive producer to take control? Media Mementos quoted Carlin, not the crew... And Sam Simon said he was a jerk but not that he was solely responsible! I can see Carlin struggling with the format, he didnt want to do it... maybe it's closer to 60/40?? Its very easy to blame the producer after all
