Correction: His name is Ed O’Neil. Not Ed Harris. I knew that before but I guess I wrote it down wrong…twice.
Oof if I was more of a married with children fan I could've caught that!!
All good! It’s my fault for getting the two names mixed up. Oh well!
@@mediamementosofficial
It’s okay.

Honestly, always felt bad knowing the dude never got far after his Seinfeld career, and then the Laugh Factory incident...legit tragedy, I find.
Suddenly his appearance in South Park’s “With Apologies to Jesse Jackson” makes more sense. Just like how Randy’s desperate attempts at damage control only managed to dig himself even deeper, Richards couldn’t let go of his past mistakes and wound up pushing everyone away instead of reaching out for help. Now all people see him as is “just another n-guy.”
Though to be fair, i know it's south park but I think the real blame in that episode shouldn't of even been on Randy rather the producers of Wheel of Fortune. I mean c'mon even members of the audience had looks of shock on them when they saw it. Again i know it's South Park and nobody has common sense in that show but really the guy who talks to Pat Sajak through that small ear piece should've said "Dude just solve the puzzle for him and give him his prize before he says it!"
@@556deltawolf There's so many clips of real people doing the same thing on the show. They don't usually flat out say the word, but they do fill in the letters
9:25 This was a pretty common practice back then, like Dick van Dyke plays a character named Rob Petrie on the 'The Dick van Dyke Show', or Bob Newhart plays Dick Loudon on 'Newhart', Donna Reed plays Donna Stone on "The Donna Reed Show', or even Bill Cosby plays Dr Cliff Huxtable on 'The Cosby Show'
He was in ALMOST every single episode. He wasn't in "The Chinese Restaurant" and "The Pen".
Jason Alexander was upset he wasn't in the pen episode
4:45 He wasn’t in every episode. He was absent from The Chinese Restaurant and The Pen.
Really love the editing on this vid. There are slides, transitions to videos to compliment points, and so much more artistic touches. Whoever did the work did a good job.
Thank you 🥲
@@WhoElseButZane Oh, that was you who did the editing? Nice job on it!
@@worthybutter2004 yeah I'm not experienced at all so I'm glad people like it
@@WhoElseButZane You're welcome!
The transition from Kramer to the Michael Richards show feels just like the transition from Mr. Bean to Jhonny English!
Underrated performance when he was doing Problem Child with the late John Ritter, but yeah he was literally Cosmo Kramer trying to hold hostage a child with his mom.
Always remember, when you down on your luck stay optimistic, don’t blow your anger or anyone else and learn to tighten up, you are all awesome at whatever hobby you partake and I wish you all success
So basically Don't feel, conceal.
I literally just watched the video where he blows up on stage. Like, timing bruh holy shit
Oh. When he was fed up with the blacks that wouldn’t shut up during his set?
Michael Richards appeared in Transylvania 6-500 with Jeff Goldblum, Ed Begley Jr., Carol Kane, John Byner, Joseph Bologna, and Jeffrey Jones.
He did appear with the other Seinfeld cast on Larry David's other show Curb Your Enthusiasm for a reunion episode and they poke fun at the Laugh Factory controversy.
I don't know how it was for him behind the scenes for that reunion set of episodes, but I don't think it was very flattering to him. He probably didn't like the portrayal of himself he had to play ☹️
tbf about Richards' method on Seinfeld, his character is extremely animated and it takes a TON of energy and concentration to pull off Kramer effectively, so if your co-stars are messing up , or cant stop laughing ,you do lose that energy over time making your performance suffer, which is what i think Richards' was annoyed about
It's really sad. He recently did an informal interview with Jerry Seinfeld, and you can tell he's still shook from the the whole Laugh Factory thing. Like, he thinks the entire world hates him and has 100% convinced himself of this idea to the point of "forever-delusion." Dude needs a phoenixy spiritual rebirth. I think psilocybin therapy would really help him, otherwise he'll probably die really sad and jaded, when he's actually super rad and everyone is stoked on him and wish him nothing but love, success, and happiness in his life. He could totally make a comeback, if he wanted to. I hope he's making positive spiritual progress or whatever. Great video. There was a lot there I didn't know. 🤙
While i don’t think drugs always solve anything, i do agree with the fact he can’t be ashamed of himself forever.
Ed Harris? I thought his name was “Ed O’Neill”.
It is. The redubbed line must not have made it in the final edit. Can’t believe I didn’t catch that.
Also it's Julia "Loo-ie" Dreyfuss! Not Julia LOUISE Dreyfuss lol
I came to correct that too. MWC is my all time fave. Night Court is a close second
Even tho I'm not the biggest fan of Seinfeld (nor an expert), this was still an engaging watch!
Also, I love how the editing's getting better.
It was worth the year-long wait for you to post this video, especially since the delays gave you an extra year to be sure you did not get any information about Michael Richards wrong or leave out anything important. This video also gave you a new recycled special thing to post when you ran out of other videos to make for the rest of the year and you just want to take a break. It is rather interesting to see this video about Michael Richards' career come out one week before the other video you made about John Kricfalusi's career; I guess saving that video for this year gave you more time to work on that longer video. December 19, 2022, 6:36pm
he didnt have a good time on UHF because Richie Aprile (David Proval) threatened to build a ramp up to his ass and drive a lionel up in there
16:15 i agree in general that he just snapped and lashed out, but...when people who AREN'T racist lash out, they DON'T do it with racism
Unstrung Heroes with him, John Turturro, and Andie McDowell is an extremely underrated movie. Trial and Error with him and Jeff Daniels isn't that bad either
See I judged him as a bad person from the Laugh Factory thing. Guess there really was more to the story. Still sounds like a jerk but definitely a tragic one.
He's tragic in the Greek tragedy sense: he was responsible for his own downfall.
I like Jerry, but I've never really sat down and watched this show, that said this video was really good nonetheless. Really interesting story. I've heard of the Laugh Factory situation in passing but not the full thing. That was...rough to sit through. Either way this was an awesome vid man 👍
Ed Harris? You mean Ed O'Neil? That's a brutal error. *AT least you own this is a previous comment.
As for Richards in UHF, Spadowski was written for him. He wasn't just the first choice, he was essentially the only choice. He had creative control over the character and was still insufferable.
I see that you currently have 29,500 subscribers. What video will you make next when you get 30,000 subscribers? Because I always wanted to hear your thoughts on Sponge Out of Water or Disney Channel's Descendants movies, but *only if* you also have your own interest in watching and reviewing them. The thing is, Trevor has stated that he doesn't take requests. And even when he does, you have to go to his Patreon to get it fulfilled.
He’s still one of my favourite actors regardless of his mind blank. Absolute legend 🫶🏼
It’s a shame because Michael Richards is quite talented. There are those who take their jobs very seriously and that can defiantly rub people the wrong way sometimes when one is acting as he did on Seinfeld. Unfortunately once Seinfeld ended, he wasn’t able to get roles where he could stretch his acting and comedic abilities. The Laugh Factory incident is a definite blow to him. Also, I don’t know where you got that he doesn’t like UHF as I’ve never seen or heard anything from him that indicated that he doesn’t like it as you don’t really site anything that gives proof that he doesn’t like it at all. He likely took the role not only because of the money, but because it might have been a departure from some of the things he had done up to that point and he got to showcase more of his comedic abilities even more than before. Whenever I’ve heard him talk about it, he’s always been positive about it. Yeah, he doesn’t talk about it much, but then again people don’t usually mention it to him whenever there’s an interview being conducted with him as Seinfeld is the primary focus and UHF will barely get talked about with him, unlike with Weird Al, it comes up quite a bit due to its cult following and not just because he starred in the film, but he also wrote the film and did the music. Here’s hoping one day, Michael Richards will be in something where he’ll be able to get back on top again. Great video man, take care!
"we used to string your people up back in the day" 😂 he's not wrong, but for heckling?! big differences, lol. He made a great Kramer, though.
🤣😭😭😭 if you're gonna call it a generic title: HIS NAME, then maybe NOT lean into Kramer 🤣😂😭 why would they sabotage him like that.
IDK maybe he'd overreact still clinging onto the Kramer energy. And maybe he wouldn't have made Monk so well as that Tony fella.
I DON'T REMEMBER ALL THE N WORDS 😂 AHAHAHA. GOOD LORD, NO. oooohhh. That's a shame.
I honestly, think Jason Alexander did well, in voice acting before he bounced back
Ever watched duckman?
Yep! That role and Abi Smaul in Aladdin basically kept him afloat for a while.
@@mediamementosofficial hell, duckman is as funny as Seinfeld.
So basically Jason is pretty much the only cast member, to have a show that was as good as Seinfeld.
Which I like because Jason Alexander was always my favorite on that show. He’s such a good actor with great comedic timing and range. Too bad Duckman got shafted.
Apparently he is aware of the "we're living in a society" meme and has reposted meme edits on his Twitter. He seems like a chill guy.
"do I think Richards is racist? .... No."
Ok buddy.
SERIOUSLY. One doesn't just casually drop the N-bomb out of nowhere if you're not a racist. That's a racist showing their true colors.
@@LycoLoco It wasn't casual.
I don't care about the laugh factory deal , not good but he still is one of my favorites. Tim Robinson takes the cake these days hands down!
3:40 the Mario sound effect has me dying for some reason.
The little kid with toy soldiers is etched into my mind from Fridays. And the Clash and Devo appearances. And Melanie Chartoff's legs.
Oh yeah. Ed Harris. The guy that played Ted Bundy on Married With Children.
Technically Kramer wasn’t exactly in every episode of season 1 or 2 was it? Back then he didn’t even leave the apartment and it wasn’t even until season 3 when he started coming out more. That episode more specifically was the Chinese restaurant. So it was kind of similar to Roger from American dad.
I'm not a Seinfled expert, but I've heard that Jerry appeared in all 180 episodes of Seinfeld (including several two-part episodes) and was the only character in the show to do so.
So, I guess Kramer's second place, then?
@@worthybutter2004 no I’m pretty sure it’s George Constanza. He was only ever absent in one episode and he wasn’t happy with the fact he wasn’t in it. He said if it happened again he was going to leave the shoe entirely.
@@BrennySpain Okay then!
@@worthybutter2004 yep!
I've never seen UHF I've been meaning to but never got around to it.
Please watch it
woah, had no idea about the Monk thing.
that's interesting and seeing what Tony Shaloub did, I can kind of see why they were considering Richards.
"private I investigator"
The "I" stands for "investigator."
I wasn't much of an Andy Kaufman fan until I saw him go off-script with an ad-lib that Richards tried to react to with his fists. Don't be a dick on stage, dude.
Can you do a video on why Michael Bluth is the villain of Arrested Development?
He doesn't do requests.
Stanley Spadowski was my hero! I loved that character. Sorry he didn't like the role.
Characters Quests on Camp Camp Characters
Max, quartermaster, Cameron Campbell, David, Nerf, Preston
He doesn’t take requests.
I think he still makes 10k an episode rerun. Plus Seinfeld is now on comedy central and netflix. Hes still rich and a living legend who made a mistake like we all do.
Damn. I just feel bad for this guy.
I know he's a good man who was forsaken by the world over one stupid little joke, i still love him to this day and always will, those idiots overreacted
@@AbrasiousProductions You are an ignorant fool if you think they overreacted.
It would have been better if you said he really messed up but I still love him than saying they overreacted.
Again, you are an ignorant fool for saying that.
I'm not even insulting you. It's a fact.
Hey, Trevor! In case you didn’t know, I made a shoutout video for Billy before he leaves.
Edit: I may have not seen _Seinfeld_ , but even I have to agree that this is a pretty tragic story about having a career. I honestly feel pretty bad for Michael Richards.
With his intense method acting background, it's kinda hard for me to believe that the guy isn't at least a little racist. Nonetheless, the context of his career spiral was much appreciated.
he gave no real Kramer vibes in AIRHEADS tho, but like, thats it hahah
It’s pronounced Julia Louie Dreyfus. Not Julia Louise Dreyfus!
I mean... you can say he'ss not a racist, but THAT's the word that came to his mind in all its honesty. That word doesn't come to your mind unless it's there. Just sayin.
Site gags and shtick , never thought out words of comedic value from Mr. Richards.
I knew this guy from the episode of South Park when Randy says the N word live
He really reminds me of Mel Gibson with the drunk driving arrest of 2006 then the rage phone call in 2010. Although Gibson has a much larger resume of work and Hacksaw Ridge was a great directorial comeback for him.
Gibson is awesome, he's based and I'm thankful he's not one of those Hollywood cannibals
@@AbrasiousProductions Agreed
I don't care what anybody says I still love Michael Richards and always will
He’s a bigot though.
M
lol Ed Harris
He already clarified that mistake.
Downfall?
As in his career ending.
Lol, once you called Ed O'Neil Ed Harris I stopped watching the video. Besides that the video is a Mess
Awesome!
Why? Disrespectful blacks that wouldn’t shut up and it’s Michael’s fault? Ohhh kaaaaay
I saw that subliminal message, you're not slick lol
Only one of them?
hold on just a minute, there is no "downfall" to be seen here, did Michael Richards make a dumb offensive joke years ago? Yes, is a bad person? Hell fucking no, I love Michael Richards and I always will and anyone who revokes their loyalty to him over a dumb little joke is a callous traitor
There WAS though. He went from a decently popular comedian on the rise to being someone who could barely get work. That’s the definition of a downfall. Besides, the video isn’t about chastising him at all. If anything, it paints him in a (mostly) sympathetic light.
Oh.. Alright, I'll give the video a chance but my conviction remains, regardless of his fame or not I still love the guy
@@AbrasiousProductions Ah. I had a feeling you commented before watching.
It was his downfall, stupid. Thus why his career tanked.
There is a chance Richards could make a comeback since he's not a Trump supporter.
Huh?
@@JoshuaJacobs83 What do you mean huh?
@@Kilroyiii4644 I'm asking you.
Lol nope. A lot of people in the media will use things you did YEARS ago to discredit you. Like the Kevin Hart Oscars thing.
@@louisvillenick3248 Don't you mean the Chris Rock Oscars thing?
1:39 (Before Seinfeld?)
I think I recall one of the other early things he might've done was this video about car insurance and how they determine what they charge people.
the main thing I remember from that video I saw in Driver's Ed was the song: 🎶"Choice, Chance & Control"🎶.
actually i'm not sure if he did this before or during Seinfeld. I just recall my teacher showing this and mentioning his name and not really knowing Seinfeld at all due to only seeing it in clips and not really knowing anyone's name. But i did recognize Richards due to his hair.
