Will opening the door panel for the touring with Bose speakers be the same? My passenger side front door speaker is messed up. Don’t even want to take it back to Honda. I did once, they said it wasn’t blown but that’s BS. It clearly is either blown or the wiring is coming out. It crackles so badly. When I change zones to the front passenger side all that plays is the tweeter. When I do this to the drivers side it works full range. I gotta open that panel and check for myself since I can’t trust Honda. Might have to change the speaker myself even though Honda should change that Bose speaker on warranty. They said they would if there was a problem then denied there was a problem.
Great video, the backs are different size because the lowest trim is the only trim with less speakers/tweeters. So I’m assuming that has the smaller speakers in the back. Everything from the Sport up has more speakers.
The weird thing is there the same size! Don't get me wrong, the 5 1/4 fit but if I can get 6 1/2 in there that's what I'm gonna do! Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you Anthony!
Thanks a lot for documenting all these modifications for us! I read that the OEM headunit does some EQ already that wont be optimal with new speakers.. And sadly you cant turn it off permanently, you would have to do it each time you start the car.. Did you do anything about that or are people on forums just being perfectionists with infinite budgets? I am planning to just sound treat my doors first and see if the sound improves already when I can hopefully removes any of the annoying midbass rattling. After that I might replace the 8 factory speakers too if I still feel the need.
Yea, the factory headunit isn't the best with aftermarket speakers. I'd recommend an amp or a different headunt that puts out more amps. That's what I did, headunit.
Seems as if it was plug and play for the most part, other than the small amount of wiring. I have a 24 sport hatch 6mt and I’m thinking of doing the exact same thing. Was there any amp needed or any other modifications not shown in this video to make them work? Mechanical mods are my thing haha, I’m new audio systems
Greatly appreciate the video it sure will be very helpful for myself and others. However doesnt the car come with tweeters in the A pillar? Basically you should be installing component speakers not coaxials otherwise you will end up with 2 tweeters per door instead of one and most likely hurt the acoustic quality as supposed to enhancing it
They do come with tweeters in the a pillars and in the rear doors. I can barely hear them tho! Going to try something different for the rear doors here momentarily. Hopefully it works 🤞if it does you'll see it on Wednesday nights video. Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you!
My thoughts exactly Timur. I have a '22 Sport and this channel has provided so much help to me but I think component would be the way to go. Maybe even replace the stock tweeters as well. Just be careful not to over power the stock head unit amp with high wattage speakers as it only has 180 watts available. That is 45w per speaker.
@@Mr._Steal_Your_Squirrel Thank you, Dave! I might be switching to components soon. These speakers are great, needs a tad bit more bass but all in all a great speaker!
So is there a cable that connects from the OEM speaker wiring harness to the aftermarket speaker for the 11th gens? I don’t wanna have to solder or splice any wires since it’s brand new 😅
Dang I wish I had knew you were upgrading your speakers, I would have told you they were both the 6.5, I found a site that told me I need 4x of what ever speaker since the doors are all the same. Sorry man, but the good news is bad news eventually runs out! Keep grinding, you will get there!
Hey is it try true that if you take off the bumper you have to recalibrate the car ? Cause of all the sensors in the front ? I want to add a led emblem in the front for the Honda sign and my body shop guy said it can be a little more difficult is it true ?
He is correct. That is one reason why I'm glad I don't have them. I've removed the bumper 3 or 4 times now and I'm doing it again tomorrow. Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you!
I got one of the first 22 civics and although im happy with it. The door panels give off a rattling noise when going above 10 on the volume knob. I added a foam panel chunk underneeth the switches when u first take off the door panel but it did not help at all. I also want to add JBL speakers in the car but i dont need the rattling to get worse. Any ideas or help? Its been an issue since day one and Honda says they cant fix it which is very frustrating. Someone please help haha its super annoying.
What are the speaker wire colors and where are the located? I'm trying to add an lc2i line out converter for my amplifier. but can't seem to find a diagram for it.
If you buy the product in the description of the video, can we install new JBL speakers without cutting them? How will the sound system be if I replace the 4 speakers in the doors?
@@Sametc95 I actually switched to Alpine S-S65. Sounds better. But again, the factory head unit doesn't put out enough ampridge. Recommend and aftermarket Amp to run the speakers. Or an aftermarket head unit.
@@Hrautosalesllc front and rear doors have the same size speaker hole! I don't have an Amp hooked up to them. I am most likely going to replace the rears with components for a bit more bass. No subs for me.
@@717PROJECTI can’t find them man. Where did you put eyes on them yet my dude? PS I can’t even go aftermarket radio with my Si without taking out my entire dashboard. Isn’t that crazy bro? Honda did that on purpose I swear.
Lol. I knew the rear door speakers were 6.5" too. 😜 Where'd did you order the speakers from? Even if you don't buy from them, Crutchfield has the speaker placement guide for all vehicles. I took electronics. I know very well to watchout with the soldering iron. Thanks for the 411 on door panel removal. Good to know, and great that they are so easy to remove. Is the front door sound insulation OEM, or did you put them in? JBLs are great, one of my favorite brands, smong many I would consider, but I am going with the Rockford Fosgate speakers and amp I was looking at, but going to have the stereo shop do that, because I will be adding heavy gauge RF speaker wire and speaker noise reduction kits. I believe the stock system speakers are decent until I upgrade, but yeah, if you like good audio, they are lackluster. Kicker even has subwoofers that fit the rear doors, and the RF amp series I am choosing can go mono rear channel for the subwoofers, but I rather have 4 channel stereo with to matching component sets, all RF or maybe matching brand speakers and amps, since the upper rear doors have tweeters. But, I have another optional upgrade I can have the stereo install when I want to add it. I have a vintage RF Punch 150 that was built and modified by my friend at the RF HQ. He was the top stereo installer years ago in Honolulu, and his custom installations were unmatched. I wish he was still in the business, and would have him do it. To show how good he was, when the first monster RF Power 1000 amps came out, they were the Holy Grails for stereo competitions. He had the 3rd one, after the owner and his daughter. That amp can put out over twice the rated power, maybe 3X +. I would use that as my main amp, but it's not as high tech and advanced as the new amps after about 35 years, but it would make a great subwoofer amp. So I could have a subwoofer box with one or two subwoofers with the amp mounted on the box, and have it set up so I can put it in the rear hatch whenever I want to boom, and have the store away power/speaker cables hooked up. That way, I have the everyday storage utility in the hatch but can put the subwoofer box in when I want. Maybe one high powered 12" subwoofer may be enough to kick with that amp I have. But your JBLs in the right size should be a nice upgrade. Maybe later you can add a good amp with more power than the stock 180 watts, maybe around 300+ watts, that would match your speakers. Going JBL would be a no brainer.
I got the speakers off Amazon. I went to best buy and grabbed me a pair of 6'9, I want to see if they'll fit. If not, I'll sell them or give them away! Might go with an Amp one day!
@@717PROJECT Did you mean 6.5" speakers? The last 6x9s I had were on my 1984 Buick GN with adspters for the 4x10s. I forgot what my 2000 Impala LS and 2006 Impala SS had at the back shelf. I never bothered to upgrade them except the front door speakers on my SS because I blew out the wooders and they would rattle. What probably blew it out with the stock system? Probably this CD. Awesome album from one of my favorites. George Duke Night After Night. Let me see if the link is on RUclips. ruclips.net/p/PLac8bpb74b8fpYMPX73DqitA5s1cJZk7q That the most awesome cruising music, especially st night. The tracks are not in the original order. I have it on my phone, so it's higher fidelity straight from my CD. *The $32 LG DP132H DVD player at Walmart can transfer CDs straight onto a USB Flash Drive without a computer. So easy to play tunes on you car from your music collection straight to your car USB Data port. I got one to match my nice new 32" LG HDTV. It's a much cheaper solution than the $600 Pro Audio Tascam CD-A500 CD Player/Cassette Recorder I was going to get for my home music studio to do the same thing. So, I will probably get two sets of the Rockford Fosgate P1650 6.5" two way speakers and keep the stock tweeters. I may install it myself with the speaker noise reduction kit. That should sound better than the OEM speakers with the stock 180 Watts. About $130 a set. I can then have one of the good stereo shops add the Rockford Fosgate Punch P400X4 amp with the heavy gauge power and speaker wires, and maybe one of their DSP processors. The amp is $400 and should be enough for me, compared to the bigger P600X4 amp with those speakers. Rockford Fosgate also has a 300 watt powered 10" subwoofer that doesn't take up much room and is easy to connect and disconnect with an auto power on feature. That would make it so much easier. I can hold on to my vintage RF Punch 150 amp and XV-1 crossover for another car or sell it back to my friend's brother that used to work with me, and they can put it in something else. Rockford Fosgate also has a BT receiver I will probably get, so I can wireless stream music from my phone to my car system. I'll be waiting for your next video on Wednesday night, at 9:00 AM. 😉 😜 😆🤣😂😹
I installed two front whoofer speakers and they work and then they dont and then when i open the door to get off or on you can hear some little low static any recommendations?
@717 PROJECT i want to see some ambient lighting inside the car. Almost all cars come with light strips nowadays. 2022 Civics in asia get them in the front door gloss black trims in red and white if you research you will see.
“And I’m even hearing it for the Touring” I have a 22 Touring sedan and I can back that up. Overall I do love the sound system, but the audio mostly comes out of the tweeters & sub in the back. Even when I put my head close to the speakers, I can’t tell anything is coming out. When I put my hand up to it, I feel no vibration coming out of it at all, even at high volume. I don’t know if they’re even working or not. If anyone knows anything else about the system please let me know.
No, not yet. I'm going to ask the dealer when I take it in for service. Maybe a software update? I just unpair it and pair it back up again. Usually will take care of it for a little while.
Probably not the best idea messing around with the speakers or the audio system in a 2022 car. If you have any electrical issues during the warranty period, warranty repairs could be denied. Not worth the risk
I'm starting to looking forward to seeing the notification and videos.

Appreciate the comment as always my friend 🙏 Thank you!
Thanks for the video, do you know what brand the factory speakers are, or do you not specify?
No problem! I'm not sure what brand they are. I know touring has the bose.
Good video, should tell wish is the positive and negative
Thank you
Great video, the backs are different size because the lowest trim is the only trim with less speakers/tweeters.
Good and thank you so much
Thanks a lot for documenting all these modifications for us!
@@717PROJECTthanks for the reply!
I will see how I can make it sound with little modifications, but I will check out your headunit video
Those are some smooth eyebrows you got there.
Thank you...
They now sell adapters so you don't need to cut the wires like I did. I'd recommend and Amp for the best quality.
My 24 si has Bose speakers and I already think it’s loud af adding jbls must be insane
Sounds much better now with the aftermarket headunit. Not sure amps the bose puts out.
Thanks for the videos! Quick question: Do you have a link to the speaker mounts?
The mounts came with the speakers.
Thanks Miller
You're most welcome Frankie 🙏
Good shit man thanx for the vid what wattage can the infotainment center can handle?
Thank you, Jay! I believe it's 180 but don't quote me!
@@717PROJECT ok
You rock, dude!
Just got my civic hatch and these videos are a great deal of help especially with those door speakers which I’m gonna swap out they sound terrible🤦🏻
Thank you, Loso 🙏appreciate the kind words!
The stock speakers don't sound terrible. They sound good until novices try to turn up the stock head until too high which introduces distortion.
It's amazing honda use the same cheap speaker over the past 20 years 😂
Greatly appreciate the video it sure will be very helpful for myself and others.
What's some top tier speakers I can install and are compatible with my 23 civic sport ?
Yet another great video
🙏Thank you, bro! Much appreciated🙏
how did you color the front badge on your Honda civic 2022 but also what paint did you use?
I removed it and had the body shop paint it Aegean blue. He uses PPG products. Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you, John!
So is there a cable that connects from the OEM speaker wiring harness to the aftermarket speaker for the 11th gens? I don’t wanna have to solder or splice any wires since it’s brand new 😅
I believe there are now plug and play connectors available for the 11th gen!
Dang I wish I had knew you were upgrading your speakers, I would have told you they were both the 6.5, I found a site that told me I need 4x of what ever speaker since the doors are all the same. Sorry man, but the good news is bad news eventually runs out! Keep grinding, you will get there!
All good brother! Thank you for the kind words! Hey, might make a good giveaway?!
So coaxial speakers have tweeters in them, how do those sound with the stock tweeters in car or did you disable those?
I actually swapped out for components. Alpine S-S65.
@@717PROJECT ah ok, did you end up changing out the tweeter then or leaving it? Tryna see what other guys are doing for tweeters lol
@@civicenthusiast22I left the factory tweeters in. They work good enough for me.
I want to get my system installed do you know if it voids any warranty?
Don't see why it would void warranty. Unless there is an electrical problem due to the stereo.
Appreciate the comment Victor! Did you try replacing the clips? If you broke any when removing the panel that could be your issue. Hope that helps!
Maybe it's just the lx that had the smaller rear speakers
Possible!
Do you have link where you ordered the speakers for front and back.
Fernando, I bought them at Best Buy! You can order them on Amazon tho I believe! Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you
is there only the 4 in the doors? i never looked myself but i though there would be some in the trunk under the back window?
No sir, just the 4 in the doors and the 4 tweeters. Nothing in the back deck. Could probably put some in there tho if you wanted to.
What are the speaker wire colors and where are the located? I'm trying to add an lc2i line out converter for my amplifier. but can't seem to find a diagram for it.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in the video. Don't remember of the top of my head.
Do these honestly make a significant difference without adding an amplifier ?
Definitely in sound quality! An amp would obviously make it much better.
If you buy the product in the description of the video, can we install new JBL speakers without cutting them? How will the sound system be if I replace the 4 speakers in the doors?
They now sell wiring adapters. They were not available when I made the video. I also recommend and Amp for the best quality.

what type of solder did you use on the electrical wiring?
I'm not sure. It had a green and white label if that helps.
What speakers did you end up using been looking to upgrade mine
David, I used JBL 6 1/2 GTO 629 in both the front and rear.

No sir, I left them plugged in.
Is there a difference when the noise cancellation from the outside noice to the inside cabin turn off while hooking up these new speakers
I don't believe so.
Lol. I knew the rear door speakers were 6.5" too. 😜
Where'd did you order the speakers from?
Let me see if the link is on RUclips.
ruclips.net/p/PLac8bpb74b8fpYMPX73DqitA5s1cJZk7q
That the most awesome cruising music, especially st night.

Probably not the best idea messing around with the speakers or the audio system in a 2022 car. If you have any electrical issues during the warranty period, warranty repairs could be denied. Not worth the risk
