I have the ryobi 10" sliding corded miter. Its a workhorse! I also have the 7 1/4 sliding cordless 20v dewalt miter. It's a fantastic saw for smaller jobs.
I love it. I think I'd come off another $100 or so for the 10". I don't always need to chop a 4×4, 4×6, 6×6, but when I do, a Miter saw is the best way to get it done with a the cleanest cut.
Was thinking about the cordless but tbh I’m good with corded. I have plugs inside/outside and extension cords if needed. But I can certainly see the benefits of a cordless version
I always tell my contractor buddies that I'm always making profit with Ryobi tools. And then I asked them if they're making more profit because they're using the more expensive brands? 😎🤪
Totally agree. Personally, I use a Ryobi impact wrench. Since I got it 2 years ago it has helped me change out engines, transmissions and other serious mechanical work.
I’ve build 3 different wood shops, new ones bigger than the last all with Ryobi tools and non of them have failed me. Still have them today while I build closets and kitchens for people. Pathetic is the right words for these people!
I always see people say that Ryobi tools is for DIYers or biginners doing a few projects here and there but not for professional use. But then I see a lot of profesional people using it on youtube 🤷♂️.
Yeah cuz plumbers and electrician are the only ones that can afford more expensive tools. I would personally always buy ryobi for bigger machines and such and as long as you take care of your tools they will work properly.
Yes! I just bought one 2nd hand specifically for trimming and small art wood work. Its perfect brother! My 10" rigid miter saw is for my bigger projects. Beat if luck!
Is it double bevel? Small crown maybe but not 7 1/4" I wouldn't think?!? I haven't done crown molding in years, my step-dad owned a big trim business and I hated him and hated working for him so I guess I ran away from that field. Well sailed away, I do boat repair and restoration lol.
So… on a 4x4 if you don’t want to have to measure 100x and draw around the whole thing. You can just make 3 cuts. So make one, then turn it with the half cut side up. Then cut it then turn it again. Cutting is quick but measuring is slow
Never could get the lazer on the work saw to line up, those dewalts with the shadow line won't have to be adjusted. My brother in law has the 12 inch sliding chop saw and the shadow line is fantastic
It's a great little saw for small projects. I was just testing it out. Still have it. My wife primarily uses it for her little Pinterest projects. I have the cordless Dewalt 20 v 7 1/4 miter. Great saw. Also have a corded 10" sliding miter for bigger jobs.
Their lawn tools are top tier. My wife uses their 18v power tools around the house and for her "Pinterest projects". Great value for the $ and they hold up well. I primarily use dewalt 20v.
Imagine you live in Seattle and your homeless living out of an old ass rv and all you can afford is used Ryobi tools from the 2nd use store in Sodo to start your own handyman business. Then as your customer base grows you can afford to buy Ridgid (which I've always liked) to replace the Ryobi tools. Imagine keeping some of the Ryobi tos because they still work and haven't let you down.. Oh wait.. That's me.
@@fishermen8232 right on, I had to cut a bunch of treated 6x6 and my 12" will make it through 90-95%. Can't beat the Diablo blades for price and performance
Oh my... I hope that job doesn’t use methods like that everywhere. Looks like mark the piece for length, then transfer line whole way around- probably with a square, then make a cut about 1/2 way, then turn over and do your best to line up, then cut. All this could be reduced by 50-75% with other methods and/or a larger bladed saw. Probably why they can only afford ryobi.
I thought the same thing until I tryed one, it is the wrong size for the job, but the newhp gear keeps up with any of my milwaukee tools and definitely out puts more than myv12v gear.. so don't knock it until you have used it
@@edison_a637 I purchased one Ryobi tool in my life. They gave me a questionnaire about how could they improve their product. After using their product I could only give my honest opinion. I told them to cut cord off product and nail it too a block of wood that would be an improvement
Lmao dude whyyyyy that has to be one of the most useless things to make wireless. And a tiny 7 1/4 sooo useless? Can't even cut a lil 4x4. Don't even have the right tools for the job
I have this little guy and it's all I need for all the projects around the house. it's great. I love the one plus tool system and it's so affordable!
If you like that saw, you should get the sliding version. It's a game changer with the slider.

Nothing wrong with that. Super portable too.
Damn, I've never seen a miter saw do this! I'm glad I saw this in action!
Do what? Cut wood? 😂
@ Crazy! Right?
That Diablo blade is SICK
That's what I want to say

I like the ryobi miter saw!
Tip! Let the blade get up to speed before plunging into your cut.
It was up to speed
At least it has a Diablo blade. Thats the saw's saving grace
You watch a saw perform fantastic.
A saw that costs nothing for what it is.
And you make out it’s crap but the fanboy blade is the dogs🙄
Whatever

It's all in the battery and blade
Looks homeowner suited.
100%
Would this be a good miter saw to do crown molding? Looking for something small and affordable for home projects, nothing too big.
Yes! I just bought one 2nd hand specifically for trimming and small art wood work. Its perfect brother! My 10" rigid miter saw is for my bigger projects. Beat if luck!
It would be ok. It's a saw I bought for my wife. I primarily use the Dewalt 20 volt 7 1/4 sliding miter for trim work.
Old thread, I know, but yeah. And use a good thin curf blade with it. Also, consider their sliding model.
Nice !
How tall of a board can this cut? I want need a little saw like this that can cut 2.5” tall boards
looks good i can't recommend the vacuum it drains the batteries too fast in my opinion.
Wish it was sold in Canada.
Is it heavy to carry around in ur hands (personaly for 10 to 12 yrs old?
No, but I would not recommend a 10-12 year old use a miter saw. I'd recommend a hand saw. That's what my 10 year old son uses.

Also I bought a harbor freight 7 1/4 so I feel you on saving money. As long as it’s square then use it
Are they going on the roof?
I can’t get mine to cut all the way thru a 2x4. wtf am I doing wrong?
@mariaphilomena1422 meaning the blade does not reach all the way through or it dies before finishing the cut?
Is there a 10in
Yes, but its corded 120v
I need that saw
For sharpening pencils?
12 in problem solved
That vacuum ain't doing shit haha
Nice
Is there a laser on the saw?
There is not. I believe the previous model did. My 20V DeWalt 7 1/4 has a "shadow" thingy. It's pretty convenient.
Never could get the lazer on the work saw to line up, those dewalts with the shadow line won't have to be adjusted. My brother in law has the 12 inch sliding chop saw and the shadow line is fantastic
Any saw is good as long as you swap out the crap blade. More teeth or a better teeth design like Diablo saves your motor.
The base plate isnt level with the rest of the base. Not expecting that from a power tool.
Wasn't the Ryobi POS, it was the nice ass Diablo blade doing the work
U are absolutely correct
Improvise. Ability to use different blades. GET IT !
Blah blah blah bias !
@@robertdillon9989 not bias at all. I have a diablo blade on my corded Ryobi circular saw. Those blades do work no matter what saw it is!

7 1/4” 😂😂😂😂😂For trim work yes
I have the same vacuum. Plz show how you hook it up to the saw!!! I cant find any aftermarket hose to fit it!
