I've played & beaten this game before. In fact, it was one of the first games I bought (new, in-box with instruction manual) when I bought my (brand-new) original Game Boy. As for defeating the Queen Metroid quickly, there's no need to go through quite so many missiles; stand as far away as possible & wait for her to bring her head down, with her jaws open. If she's close enough, her open mouth will be almost touching the ground. Fire a single missile into her mouth to momentarily stun her, then go into Morph Ball (without activating Spider Ball) & roll into her mouth. Her jaws will snap shut around you & she'll retreat, while pulling her head back. Then just roll into her stomach & set off a bomb. She'll spit you up, and then it's just a matter of lather, rinse, repeat. 5 or 6 times in a row will do the trick. Be careful, though: she won't always have her mouth open when she brings her head down. If that's the case, take the damage & wait for her to open her mouth.
Thanks for the play/walkthrough on this old classic, I never had the patience to play it through on my own back in the day, I enjoyed seeing it all the way through.
The only difference I know of at the end is that Samus will appear suitless if you beat the game below 4:00. It doesn't matter if the time is 1:14 or 3:59; she will still appear the same suitless way.

@ShadowMario3 it seems that if i let it play then the video freezes, but if i click to fast foward past it then it loads it and plays. before it acted like it wouldn't load at all at that point.
@redsamus4 The video plays fine for me, both ways (when I let it play through and when I skip to the part). As Shadow said, it's probably just something wrong with your browser or flash player. Just curious, which browser (version number too) are you using?

It's being played on a Game Boy Player, which is essentially a Game Boy Advance. In case you didn't know, any Game Boy Advance (except Game Boy Micro) can play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.

Yep, Metroid is directly inspired by Alien, and I love it. Ridley is named after Ridley Scott, the director of Alien and Prometheus.

I like how the Metroid Queen fades into oblivion like a Final Fantasy Final Boss.
AM2R did a really good job recreating this. Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves.

Yeah, the Queen will fall if you pump it full of missiles. But the Bomb method is simply faster.
