Thank you for this video. I've landed a contract that I simply cant pass up in a neighborhood that I would rather not be and doing things outside that will not win me any friendships. So, I've signed up for my CC education and this vest will likely be my next purchase. Thanks again for your channel, videos, & knowledge & education.
Bullet Safe UHMWPE vest is effective and budget friendly. The only negative review I've seen is from "free field training" channel who was biased against it from the start and seems to be a paid schill for Safelife Defense. Thanks for the unbiased review. Spending hundreds more doesn't mean it's going to be better.
Would love to see you try the "American 180" test - Try shooting a piece of quality kevlar in the same place repeatedly with .22 LR to determine how many shots it takes to go through. People talk about enough bullets in one place chewing a hole but I have my doubts about the practical reality of how many rounds it would actually take. Might not be a very interesting video without an actual American 180 but what's the harm in dreaming!
Problem with the 5.7 test are people often get some anemic factory rounds instead of milspec or similar Elite brand ammo and are like, "WOW, it stopped it!" like firing a 40&W and thinking it's a 10mm.
Were you using low velocity rounds or standard I seen another review where a c9 9mm went through but that was after the vest had been shot several times
00 buck is something like 9 to 15 pellets about 32mm. Obviously as distance increases , so does the spread of the shot. I think the slug demonstration was equally effective in demonstrating a 00 buck round from 10 yards. Just my opinion.
How do you like it? I'm work in an elementary school ... I'm thinking there's going to be mayhem around public schools. Can't bring a weapon, but was thinking I would make a better human shield with one of these if it came to it. How's the comfort and weight? It looks concealable under a sweater.
I have found kiss my vest an amazing addition for anyone who wears armor more than on training days. It's cheap, smells great, and works. Like a nice lights cologne and takes every odor away like it's nothing.
Hey Mike, when it comes to polyethylene armor it seems most manufacturers say they have a shelf life of 5 years. Does that mean after 5 years all polyethlene armor, both soft and hard, no longer work at all or is it that they just don't work as well as if they were new and can still stop a round, but are no longer multi hit capable? I've been looking at AR500 Lvl III plates that use polyethlene because they're light, but the 5 year shelf life compared to 20 years for steel has me concerned that it's not worth the extra cost if it's something that doesn't last.
late reply, but the expiration dates are just due to materials starting to break down. most good quality armor companies products will supersede those expirations. specifically ceramic plates if stored in relatively stable conditions. just inspect your gear regularly. if you believe something may be compromised reach out to the company for their opinion.
@@squintskating379 Good advice, contacting the manufacturer is never a bad idea, but I wouldn't know the first thing about what might make armor compromised other than maybe soft plates that after so many years are no longer flexible.

Good line, but didn't test a 44 or even a lightweight 10mm. To me fail.
