I’ve had this kind of idea in my head for a long time I just haven’t had a clue on where to start. Great work on this build and from the rest of the comments I can tell you have left some inspiration. Really glad you took the time to document this process
you probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the account password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Aydin Owen i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I can really appreciate the time effort and work that went into this build. I would like to build a lesser version of this with smaller motor for fishing small lakes and rivers, target speed about 25 mph. I have an idea to use a 30 to 50 hp regular boat motor but move it inboard and then use a jetski jet pump and ether lay the boat motor over or use the lower unit gear box but right under the motor to hook it all up. Jetski pumps are cheap, old boats are cheap and old 2 stroke outboards are cheap and very compact so I will see how it goes.
Awesome build. I was a little slow in thinking that a jet can go anywhere and that gravel was the worst enemy but found that weeds are just as bad. The only thing is with a outboard jet the motor can be raised up and cleaned out by hand.
Best way to build one I've seen so far with using the hull out of the jet ski. A lot of these are really sketchy but you done a very nice job on the whole thing. I love it! Great work!
such a great build. amazing workmanship and so happy you successfully completed the project to such a high level of detail. cheers and again, phenomenal build sir!
Man you got some skills Sir, that was a really neat build. As a kid my dad built me 3 wheelers, go karts, motorcycles, etc.. But your skills are on another level. Very nicely done. lol I have a 1754 that is part of the reason this was really neat vid.
Man I gotta say you put some work into that Jon boat. I really like it! I would buy one if you built one or made to sell. I'm sure a lot of folks would. The black trim on the green looks amazing. Anyway....FINE FINE work you did...Damn good!!!
After 23 years in the marine industry Ive seen countless fishing boats / ski boats etc. But your build here has to be the most versatile Ive seen . The seadoo engine would have to be my only dislike . There are far better options as far as reliability and performance but if its what was on hand or a cheap buy more power to you. Fantastic build easily the best I have seen
Sigh... I've lost my will to ever build or fab anything again. After seeing this amazing re-fab project and the fabulous results I think I'll sell my welder and tools and go live in the woods!!!
Love the video, love the boat. I've been wanting one since I've seen them. It would be awesome to have a boat like yours, especially with the rivers in my area.
I've been wanting to do the same thing just want to make sure it's rockproof on the bottom but I can't figure out what the best option would be for that soon I have some ideas but trying to figure out which one is exactly the best
that thing moves! i bet you could go through about 6 inches of water. i can only imagine the look on people's faces when you fly past there $50,000 river jets.
Is it a two stroke right? I want try all fiberglass with the same idea for my next project a 20 foot sailboat. two i was thinking so you can turn on a dime with one on reverse next to each other turns tight because its bigger and more difficult to maneuver and park it with one jet alone.
Hey thank you very much 55 mph is awesome see now i know that the 110 hp yamaha isnt enough for a similar jon boat but you thought of twins ? And how much would you sell a ski like that for ? I always heard that you lose actual hp at the nozzle and thats why out board Block size of a jet motor is so big compared to a reg out board so thank you i am sorry about my message im looking at vid now you did and it had the info in the vid on how fast so im a dumbass and im sorry for being an ass! Please give me and ideas for cost where i can find a wrecked jet ski mainly are you gona do anothet?
I agree 115hp would be short on power if you want to cruise at 40mph loaded without being WOT. Twin engine will use more gas, reducing your range. I put $15000 in this project, parts only, no labour. I value the boat at $25000, and not for sale.
Hell of a job man, only thing I can say is you may have over killed it a lil. I'm building one myself, but smaller and less of a budget, good job on yours
First class Job , your talented to say the least . I was wondering on the choice of Port or Starboard for the helm . I know it's well thought . A chine , I'm sure has crossed your mind . Is it a little slippery ? Nice job . Next ; Rotary Motor ? BMW ? just teasing !
over the past month or so I have been looking and researching jet jons and mini jet boat builds. your build is beyond anything else on youtube for the DIYer. seeing that it has been a few years since this build have you put the boat throw any shallow water and how has the cover fiberglass held up to any hard hits?
Yes, lots of shallow water, several hits, and a couples of really hard hits. I wouldn't bet big money that the fiberglass is intact, but everything is still straight, solid and aligned...still running as it was on the first ride.
love the boat its the best one i have seen but just one ?all that awesome fab an design an then u went cheap ont the enging cover -back floor but what does my opinion matter its your boat an its freaking awesome
I didn't build my own intake to reduce the chances of cavitation. I kept this engineered design to get full performance. The intake and pump assembly is molded in fiberglass and is part of the hull on those model. Some jetski have a removal pump assembly that can be remove and reinstalled in a boat, not this SeaDoo.
I kinda figured that. Any pointers to help shorten the learning curve? Things that you should gave done? The boat hull I'm using is more like a lowe, Crestliner, G 3. Alread has a console and casting decks. I'm using the same engine. What are your thoughts on the various power plant options. It would be nice to converse over the phone. Btw, probably the nicest build I've seen to date.
keep the bottom of the seadoo parallel to the bottom of the boat to avoid porposing. let the bottom of the seadoo drop by 3" to 5" below the bottom of the boat to reduce cavitation in the waves. I had 2-strokes engines (700cc and 1200cc) in my first built, and the 4-strokes are better in everyway for this size of boat. Better fuel efficiency, quiet cruising, can idle for hours, and more power. If you go with SeaDoo SC engine, don't neglect the manufacturer recommended maintenance for the superchager (rebuild every 100 hours, 200 hours on newer kits). SC failure can destroy that little engine. you can e-mail me at jocval@ntl.sympatico.ca if you want my opinion on anything during the build.
go to minijetboatbuilder.com we have cast intakes with rock grates. saves a ton of time and work. plus they work as good or better than the fiberglass tunnels for this application. :)
Best jet Jon build I've seen. Thank you for sharing
Wow, that is the coolest johnboat ever by a big measure!
That is an awesome boat...overbuilt, overpowered and looks good!
I’ve had this kind of idea in my head for a long time I just haven’t had a clue on where to start. Great work on this build and from the rest of the comments I can tell you have left some inspiration. Really glad you took the time to document this process

@Aydin Owen It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Isaias Jeremy No problem xD

I'm not even into boats, and I thought this build was aces ! Gotta love a hotrod, water jets or wheels ! Well done!
Brother you are a magician with the fabs ,truly remarkable and dawn good job I love it
Was wanting to do an antique fiberglass jet boat thought Jet jon boats were ugly until u showed me the light. Well deserved congrats
such a great build. amazing workmanship and so happy you successfully completed the project to such a high level of detail. cheers and again, phenomenal build sir!
Excellent build
I have seen your video before , best built that's out there , smart for reinforcing the hull ! !
A nice build you are a talented boat builder looks like it will take you on many adventures have fun, straight shooting and tight lines.
I stand in awe of your fabrication skills. Well done indeed! I will say that I had a hard time reading while looking at your pictures.
Awesome this is exactly what I want to build
Wooooooow! WICKED AWESOME!!!
You gotta know you guys are creating a new Industry Standard!
That is so bad ass that is the boat i need to biuld and got a jet ski to do it with thank you for unloading the video!!
Man you got some skills Sir, that was a really neat build. As a kid my dad built me 3 wheelers, go karts, motorcycles, etc.. But your skills are on another level. Very nicely done. lol I have a 1754 that is part of the reason this was really neat vid.
Great job on your Boat. Beautiful. Your video has really helped me get some ideas to start my project. Thank you
That's got to be one of the coolest projects on YT, what a dude !!!!
just wrecked my rxtx 255 riva stage 4 makes about 350 horse, wonder if I should do this with it... probably pretty dumb
I want one!!! by far one of the best build and very cleaned as well.. going to try to build one down the road.
I’ve seen some really Jank builds on here you did a fantastic job it looks factory nice!
Quite a project. Looks great. Gotta love the smile when first drive.
swampfox1953

Besides having to be a speed reader, great build
green ibro . just turn down your players speed
@@edstewart6361 yea right
Ridiculously nice job!

fred mertz apoyemos a omega el fuerte🌎
nice... my respect to you you are the kind of guy I would love to hang out with..building cool shit other people wish to have...
wow, amazing build! The turbo made me smile.
Supercharger..👍👍
good work brother. Impressive
wow that's awesome . you're a very talented fabricator / machinist
This is one of the coolest boats ever bro👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁
Great job and attention to detail.
great job! seadoo usually not play in the shallow water river but jetboat do. so in my opinion that weld 3 more bars on the intake to instead the rake
Sweet build and video 👍🏻
Very nice build, very good fabrication work I give it a 10.
That blew my mind. Awesome fabrication skills
Amazing.. You sir are a genuine engineer.!.
Beautiful build!!
Nice handcraft! Congrats handy man!
Very nice work, looks great !!
Super clean build!
Your slideshow is just as fast as your bad ass boat:)
That is the smoothed fabrication I've ever seen for one !! My friends look like priuses compared to yours. Well done.
Love the video, love the boat. I've been wanting one since I've seen them. It would be awesome to have a boat like yours, especially with the rivers in my area.

Nice! Loved thé video and even more at the end! I’m from Kapuskasing Ont.
I've been thinking about something like this for years. Work of art sir! I want!
Very cool
That looks extremely time consuming but worth it!
Well done. That's some impressive fab.
Could you put two of the motors for a twin engine jet propulsion in that boat
Wow! Really nice fab work! That thing is bad a**
Supercharger sounds awesome!
Solid build bro 👍
Very impressive!
Hello how did you seal where the jet ski and aluminum meet so it doesn’t leak?
was there a time you wish it was a fiberglass skiff instead of aluminum?? lol. that thing looks great!!
Awesome build
Amazing Job Congrats!
I am truly very impressed
Real nice! How little water will she take off in?
Cool boat
What does it weigh?
What's it's fuel consumption?
Amazing Work, I dream of one as well.
Bit fast bit briliant hope your still using it 😊
👍🏴😁✌️

I've always wanted to make one of these. Unfortunately, I suck at TIG welding
why did you flood the hull with water so long into the build?
Incredible!
Is it just me or does that cord spell “omg” at 1:16?!
Goodness.. best idea for shallow waters for sure. But wouldn't you need a way for the engine to spit water
great build!
so how long and how much did that take to build? whats it top speed? how well does it handle choppy water.
Awesome project man..!!
Very nice!
Gr8 build bro

How long is that front sheet? Did you use .125 to box the backend in to. What type of sealer is that? Looks great
Do you have the blueprints of your build I’m thinking about doing something like that this fall
First class Job , your talented to say the least . I was wondering on the choice of Port or Starboard for the helm . I know it's well thought . A chine , I'm sure has crossed your mind . Is it a little slippery ? Nice job . Next ; Rotary Motor ? BMW ? just teasing !
all i can say is WOW.. im so fuckin' amaze by this build...
kick ass build man
Great job.

Is it possible to do a 255hp jet jon????
Great build. What thickness of aluminum did you use for the bottom
I want to ask if this is for sale or if you would be interested in building one for someone?
starting my own project and I have a question.
1. why not fabricate the water intake instead of utilizing the hull of the ski.

Minijet Adventures , I have seen your intakes and grates on Sebastian's built here in Hearst. It's an awsome piece!
Holy shit, good work 👍
bad to the bone dude ,awesome job .
So sick dude!!! Makes me want to cut into my Jon boat!!! Kinda...
Impressive to say the least.
