    Spot on review! I'm an Android user who was jealous of the Apple Watch but didn't want to switch to an iPhone. For me, this watch is the answer. And yes, it was the speaker (and updated sensors) that made me upgrade from the gen 1 GWA.

      @@teddydavid2816 I'm very practical. Before, I had a citizen ecodrive, but now I'm on my 2nd Casio pathfinder. The battery life in most smartwatches are kind of sad and most of the features, (again to me) are not practical for my day to day. Maybe when I can get a week's worth of use I will be impressed.

    • @teddydavid2816

      @@soiledhalo2296 that's interesting Richard because to me I get so much use out of my gear s3 frontier that I've had for 3 years,, I guess now, I couldn't even come up with a plot to where I would wear an antiquated rist weight again. I've always been into watches and have a decent collection too, even a Rolex, but I haven't worn one since the s3 touched my wrist, not even once.. It's never run out of batteries on me either and now they have the ones where you can charge them on the back of your phone too which I haven't upgraded to yet but will someday when I upgrade my phone(still have the note 8)but battery life to me has been a non issue, especially compared to all the benefits. Taking it off once a day while showering or whatever and letting it charge up(well to just below 100 because I heard it's bad for battery life to charge to 100) again(all the way up since I hate having a low battery and it's rare that it ever goes below 50%), you're good to go again. Not to mention if the battery gets low you can put it on power saving(which I've rarely had to do) and then it just does basic functions which are still more than an old wrist sun dial can do and still will last for a long time. the s3 has been a tank as well, been in pools, hot tubs ,showers, work out with it all the time, banged on door frames and such countless times and still looks great. I can't even believe how good it's been. It paid for itself on the first day and every day after that it's been a profit the thing is crazy useful and just fun... Anyway I lol at people in my head when i see them wearing old watches like when I see people smoking cigarettes or vaping, I just shake my head to myself in dismay.. anyways it's all good, to each their own I guess right. oh and these watches are so relatively cheap, I got mine for around 200ish??, on Ebay I guess all those years ago too I can't even remember because to me its value is so far greater than whatever I paid for it it's like I got it for free. dude I can't fathom wearing a useless wrist shackle again, yea I'd say your impractical fashion jewelry is dead to me.. but sorry for the horrible sentence structures and run on sentences and such this book I just wrote looks crazy lol but enjoy your practical watch my man..

    "I actually like my Apple Watch more than my iPhone" - that's a great point. My brother loves his Apple Watch and utterly despises his iPhone (having come from an Android ecosystem - it's a company phone for him). I think something like this watch would be a clincher if the company gives him the chance to use an Android again.

    I had the rose gold with the leather band, but the band didn't last very long before it was showing wear & I had to replace it with the sport strap. The watch itself was great, I got it in 2021 & loved it but last month when I use the water lock for the first time to go snorkeling something got messed up, after that I could literally watch the battery drain, a full charge would last MAYBE 10 hours, if I was lucky... I ended up upgrading to the 4 but I REALLY miss the body style of the 2 & the way the apps were laid out. The 4 is nice, don't get me wrong, but it seems like they're trying to get more like the Apple watch.

    But does it have fall detection for older adults?

    100% agree about part get this than Wear OS. Unfortunately, Google missed their chance and wasted all potencial with Wear OS...

    I haven't seen any reviews that mention the fall detection feature . Is it active? Does it really work and how?

    The Gear S3 has a speaker, were you just talking about the Galaxy Watch line as far as 'finally has a speaker'?

    • @mobiletechreview
      @mobiletechreview  5 лет назад

      Yes, I meant the Active 1, which didn't have a speaker, and for years, many Android Wear watches lacked speakers.

    thank u for the pointer about ringke snap on bezel covers. im not a fan on the matte aluminum look. i looked up that company and might just get an aluminum now and add the nicer bezel on top. great vid.

    Got the watch as a present but I have a OnePlus 7 Pro phone which is basically Google driven and it's very limited in what it can do unless you have a Samsung account or phone. Now considering looking for a Google based smart watch. Very cool watch though.

    Great review Lisa. I have the Gear S3. Do you think this would be an upgrade over the S3 Frontier or it's more of a lateral move? I wasn't impressed by the fitness functions of S3 but overall I like the watch.

    • @mobiletechreview
      @mobiletechreview  5 лет назад +2

      Fitness functions have improved markedly. It's also a lot smaller and lighter (helpful only if you don't like big watches).

    This year I went with Garmin Vivoactive 4 while it was on sale. Problems with Samsung watch or another typical Android watch is two folds. 1) The battery only lasted you two days or less 2) The display shut off when you not looking at it. I wanted something that will stay on like a regular watch. Must be my phobia kicking in because when I had Samsung S3 Frontier I kept looking at it just to keep it on, lol.
    Vivoactive 4 is a very active oriented watch. The downside for me is the text message can be hit or miss. And being very nick pick here but I wish the activity mode would be automatic instead of having to activate it first.
    Otherwise having two Samsung watches, I have no need for all their apps beyond text message, text and calls notification, sleep tracking. Other apps to me are just gimmicked. Rather with Viviactive, I get way more active tracking. Finally, Samsung watch apps on the phone suck! Samsung Health sucks bad!
    I hope many would take a second to download and play around with Samsung watch apps on the phone to see if it is intuitive to their liking. For me, it was not. Garmin implement that way better!
    Oh and with Vivoactive there NFC for payment and Spotify support as well.

    I have exactly ZERO interest in smart watches. Personally, I think they're another unnecessary too-small-to-be-useful thing to charge all the time when a regular watch and a phone would work just as well. I am solely here to support Lisa and her channel! lol. Love you, Lisa! Kickass review, as always!

    In my watch, it is written as your watch can automatically track your sleep.
    No sleep timings are written there.
    What to do? How to get ?
    Any kind of help would be appreciated.
