Today we’ll be reviewing and comparing 2 latest smartwatches from Amazfit!. Both are budget options of the current flagship the GTS2.
Spending so little never got you so much before! $100 for the mini, $140 for the GTS 2e. And you get huge AMOLED displays, slim, light, long battery, spo2, plenty of sport modes, auto activity detection, 3 stage sleep tracking, and stress monitoring..
We’ll place the the GTS2 mini and the GTS 2e in a Head to Head to figure out which one offers more value for you
The GTS 2 is sold for $180 while the GTS 2 mini is only $100. The GTS2e comes in at $140..
The GTS 2e is conceptually the flagship with some minor shortcuts here and there. The most prominent ones are lack of inbuilt storage for your music. Just the music controls on this one. And the lack of a speaker… so you can still speak into your watch to get insights into the weather or directions from Alexa, you can do the voice commands like opening the heart rate app or starting a workout. But you cant take calls on your wrist! We lost the breathing app but received the skin temperature measure. There are other minor cut corners but they don’t deserve too much attention.
The GTS 2 mini on the other hand is more of a standalone smartwatch, it is the go between the Bip U and the GTS 2. The display size is 1.55” - larger than the bip, smaller than the GTS2. It has less pixel density than the GTS2 but looks more premium than the GTS 2e.It has 70 vs 90 sport modes, but includes way more cool apps, like the pomodoro tracker, a world time clock and female health tracking.

I was actually more interested to mini because of the price point. But then I noticed the frame rate for 2e is better. looks smoother than mini. I guess I'd choose 2e.

I have the GTS2 Mini. I like it. It does have a learning curve and I haven’t learned all its tricks yet. Documentation does not come along with it. I’m not finding I get more than about 5 days on a charge. It’s going to depend on what features you have running on the watch, as well as the brightness level. Overall, this is a fine watch for the price (recently lowered to $90), it looks great, and I’d recommend it to others.

3:33 mini has plastic lugs, 2e aluminium. Man, thank you a lot! The best review of these things I have seen on youtube. You saved me from braking that mini the same day.. That crown sticking out does not look robust either.. 2e for me it is. Although, I am also thinking about Band 6..
Frp (plastic) lug normally strong enough and not easily break. Else it wouldnt be in production. I have been using watch with frp lug for outdoor and triathlon, so far no issue.
Another difference is the AOD. While GTS 2 offer two AOD skins i.e. analog and digital, GTS 2 mini on the other hand has thematic AOD depending on the current watch face. Much similar to the high-end smartwatches.

Another difference would be Gts 2 mini has quick reply function when you get a call notification. You have to scroll up from the bottom part of the screen and get the quick reply option. I don't know if GTS 2e has that quick reply function. I think it doesn't yet.
Wow what a wonderful review! I'm really hard pressed between the two because I want a slightly bigger screen but the price difference is too substantial!

That's a real deal breaker for me because I work with the Pomodoro technique. If I may ask, if I buy the GTS 2E, would I be able to install a Pomodoro timer later from some app store?

The 2e is a go-between the mini and the flagship 👌 hence it is faster and smoother

I was looking for the 2 mini but it seems like the screen on it is a bit choppier and more "laggy" compared to the one on the 2e. Is that only with the camera or is it something that can be seen IRL ?

@@WesKnows Since I noticed the same thing and this is the decisive factor for me, is the interface on the 2 Mini laggier during animations/transitions than it is on the 2e? This is what the video shows anyway. For example on 6:40, when you are scrolling through the list. The GTS 2e seems much smoother than the GTS 2 Mini.

Hi Wes I’m tempted to purchase 1 of these 2 or the GTS 3. Do you think it’s important to have all day SPO2 as per on the GTS3 bearing in mind that it’s double the price of the GTS 2 Mini and around £30-£50 pounds more than the GTS2E?
Hi Michael! Great question ☝️ but it’s not just spo2… the hr accuracy is MUCH better, gps accuracy also much better… specs is more subjective but the overall look and feel is way more premium than either gts 2 mini or 2e
Is the GTS2 Mini a bit laggier than the GTS2e? I think I noticed a slight difference in the videos, but I'm not completely sure

Is the Hertz/FPS rate netter when controlling the 2e? What does the sports auto detection mean? That the watch will notice it when I am running or lifting?
Does the GTS 2E show sleep data, widget on the watch? The Bip U does but cannot find on the GTS 2E? For some reason the more expensive, better model is missing a major feature?
Hi Kim, just checked and you're right there's no Sleep screen. and you can't even add it from the favorites... unfortunate to say the least!
Strange why this feature has been omitted from the more expensive, newer models? I think it’s also missing from the GTR 2 for some strange reason, but it’s on the cheaper Bip U? Why?

T rex is older and more expensive... the trex is an adventure watch.. mini is more tame and stylish

Dunno... it's an expensive watch with hardly any viewership potential... the brand is more of a prototype watch brand for Huami Amazfit (considering it was acquired a couple of years back)

Yes, it takes the temp of the environment it’s in or on (ie. skin)

Yep, it's just not that practical... it takes the temp of your skin.. but as I explain in one of the reviews... the skin temp will be offest by the temperature of the environment you're in. I was filming a review in +3C.. so the temperature read +19C.. avg of body temp and outside...
