  • A rotator cuff tear can mask as shoulder impingement and even a shoulder strain. Being able to tell the difference is challenging even for medical professionals.
Usually they rely on MRIs to tell if there is a torn rotator cuff...but MRIs are not cheap, are not for claustrophobic people, and they often lead to getting an unnecessary surgery.
Knowing if you have a rotator cuff tear is a big deal so that you can choose the right exercises and treatment. There are many other reasons for shoulder pain and other types of treatment to do for different types of injuries. Some shoulder treatments can make a rotator cuff tear worse so be careful when choosing what to do.
The best news you need to hear if you think you’ve got a rotator cuff tear is that it usually can heal without having surgery. This is proven in medical research and of course we see it happen all the time with our patients here in the clinic.
Check out the link at the top of this description to get the right treatment and exercises for a rotator cuff tear.

Thanks for the info. Your exercises make a lot of sense. The orthopedic doctor never diagnosed me with a specific shoulder problem and sent me to physical therapy. The physical therapist put me through the wringer, putting me on different machines etc. I thought, the farm work I do is easier on me than this, but I thought she knew what she as doing. Well, she really set me back. The first thing doctors say when you come with a problem (when you are over 60) is that it is arthritis. They don't do x-rays to prove it. This Orthopedic doctor who told me that was problem did do an x-ray. No arthritis! So I plan on doing your exercises which don't hurt!

Hello. I've been dealing with pain in my shoulder. It hurts really bad to move it up and sometimes I can't lift it but sometimes I can. I can reach behind with no problems. In order to lift my are without pain I have to go through a maze I call it. This has been going on since July 4 2022. I am doing therapy now but nothing seems to be helping. Does that sound like a tear to you. I have to wait till the end of April to do a mri.

Great video the first week I had issues with putting my arm behind my back or lifting it to take off my shirt but since then, all of that has went away basically and I’m back to my regular workouts after 3 weeks to 4 weeks of 200 push-ups and 500 jumping jacks a day, I guess maybe I had a slight tear. I rested for 2weeks and went to compression therapy at a chiropractor. I am now 8 weeks in and have very little.pain and can do those first two examples with no problem and no pain like I said thanks was wondering what your take is on it my guess was a slight tear at some point and then got better?

Ask for an X-ray,much better than an MRI when looking at images for a tear or calcification tendinitis.
