I once spent 8 hours straight farming a Hive from Saturn BL2. It's about a 30 second farm on OP8, at most a minute to check if something blue or launcher-ish drops, with Rough Rider Maya switch to Beehawk... and I didn't get a single Hive.
People got spoiled from the beginning of borderlands 3....did you play Bl2 or the pre sequel the drop rates are sooooo much more generous. Selective memory is a bitch 🤣
This is how its always been. I must have killed the Warrior in BL2 30 times, trying to get a max level Conference Call. I quit after that. A couple days later, I was in the Dust, and from a garbage pile, I got a max level Conference Call. Doesn’t mean that garbage pile is a good loot source, just means that the astronomically low possibility that that garbage pile would pop a legendary came up, and then it just happened to be a Conference Call. Sometimes the Borderlands gods give you a break, but usually they just break you.
I will always cherish the drain from farming in borderlands nothing beats the lifting joy when you see that legendary you gave up on an it drops not just the type you want but the roll is exactly how you wanted it (love my dastardly maggie)
I knew a lot of the stuff that you said but I didn't know there was a difference between specific drops and dedicated drops so thank you for uploading this video.

The one thing I didn’t know was that dedicated loot sources had the same drop rate wether you are on normal TVHM, Mayhem 1-4. I thought it was like world drops but had a lower drop chance so people could farm a bunch of them in a few hours time.
I did sky bully's on M3 and it took me about 25 kills to get a cloning hex with shock. But been trying to keep my ear to the ground on when you post new stuff! Thanks for all the awesome things you do for the community!
I'm glad you clarified this because after your video yesterday on the sky twins it gave me the impression they dropped them somewhat frequently. Spent 3+ hours farming them and got 1 hex which matches what you described in the video. (Around 40+ kills) and having to deal with the anointed enemy's along with those 2 was a major pita lol.
Yup. Still farming Heck Hole for Legendaries and Antimatter rifles(or any good alien-barreled weapons) with ammo regen, extra projectile, and increased damage+fire rate.

I've killed Urist McEnforcer at least 20 times trying to get the Rough Rider but he hasn't dropped a single one. And he only spawns once like every 10 times. It's ridiculous, it seems faster to just try to get it as a world drop than farm the designated drop source which defeats the whole purpose.
Not liking all the rare spawn enemys getting dedicated drops, lots of rng layers added, with them not spawning much at all, then when they do you have a "10%" chance they will drop one of their items. Farmed the hell out of borman nates with no drops and killavolt with one non anointed transformer drop. They have to up the rare spawn rate at least to make this remotly worth it imo

I mean prior to the dedicated drops it was an incredibly low chance to get specific weapons because so many had no dedicated sources at all. 10% chance on a rare spawn is still much higher than the chance of getting the gear you want as a world drop is it not?
Apparently, even the wiki people have it wrong in some cases. I went to check an item I got yesterday off of a loot ghost, and the wiki claimed it only dropped from one specific mob, who was not, obviously, a loot ghost.
One of the guns I've been looking for and have not seen even once is the Lucian's call. And I've farmed the hell outta Graveward, loot tinks, calypso twins, gigamind.
I've been farming Skrakk since the patch, so far I haven't gotten a Skeksil but I HAVE gotten a Dahl Legendary Barrage AR pretty consistently from it. It still definitely drops the Skeksil but if you're looking for a Barrage then Im quite positive they made the Skrakk the dedicated source!
Farmed Road dog today and i most say he is the most infuriating character i have farmed. Spent around 6-7 hours over a hundred runs and got literally nothing, not even a purple.
So had an interesting thing happened today with drops farming mouthpiece I got a loaded sprinkler. But the sprinkler only drops from the anointed in the Jacobs estate I thought
I farmed for days on op10 and got shitty ones. Started a new playthrough, level 9, first kill, got a perfect Doug, at level 8.... Yeah it's great to help me speed run the early game but come on

Most any Pokemon game is a good comparison. Though, this game is the only one in the series I've received legendary after legendary without trying to farm. So easier? At least for me.

Really hope they get rid of rare spawns.... When you're farming one that has 3 items it makes getting the one specific gun with specific annoint/element literally impossible and its just not fun :(

The 'old' world drops can still world drop. Effectively all the 'old' world drops are now assigned as *designated* drops to different bosses/enemies. The aforementioned *specific* drops are *still* specific and can come ONLY from their assigned loot source (Mind Killer, Skeksil, King/Queen's Call). These specific drops cannot world drop: you will never find a Kings Call from anyone other than Tyreen

So just wanted to farm for the cutpurse launch pad artefact, because it´s great for replenishing ammo. Looked at a spreadsheet on which boss drops it and it seems to drop from Red Rain, the giant robot in slaughterstar 3000... If the drop chance isn´t extremely high, there is no way I will farm it there. Chance is probably higher if I just hope for a world drop in slaughter shaft. Great video though

RNG is a killer. Farmed Borman Nates yesterday -- he must have been Black Friday shopping b/c he didn't pop the first 10 times I farmed him. Kept farming, no Cutsman (though I did finally get a corrosive one today). Farmed Sylvestro like 30 times, no Laser Sploder, but at least I FINALLY get a Flakker from that zone -- from a Badass Ghost.

Did anyone else farm Doc Mercy in BL2 back in the day? Honestly, I love the BL3 drop rates. BL2 was torture with its rates

They were dropping like candy for me from Katagawa ball. Not sure if it’s a dedicated spot or I was just lucky. Worth a try ... easy farm!

I just found out that the Hunt(ed) (the gun from brick’s side quest) is a world drop and can change what it does increases damage to.
I farmed Traunt in Athenas 50 times and it droped 28 hex granades

Got mine from Golden key chest
someguy1000009 since the elemental projector is a prefix,it can come on any relic so try farming graveward, tyreen or general traut.

@@GwapoSoldier yea so you increased all the other drop rates but the dedicated drop rates stay the same so your less likely to get the dedicated drop since the lootpool is diluted. farm dedicated drops with tvhm and no mayhem unless you need an anointed version

I think I found a dedicated drop, Sylestro and atomic seem to drop the laser sploder and pestilence

I still did not understand. So did the "old worlddrops" all turn into boss drops/designated drops or do they additionally also still drop as world drops?
They additionally also still drop as world drops too, yes!
The 'old' world drops can still world drop.
Effectively all the 'old' world drops are now assigned as *designated* drops to different bosses/enemies.
The aforementioned *specific* drops are *still* specific and can come ONLY from their assigned loot source (Mind Killer, Skeksil, King/Queen's Call).
These specific drops cannot world drop: you will never find a Kings Call from anyone other than Tyreen
How was it still confusing? I understand it without them needing to explain it it's not that hard to comprehend
There are too many legendary items so don't think all the old world drops will all get designated drops
The only items that can’t world drops are the Specific drops (Skeksil, Mindkiller, etc...)

So just wanted to farm for the cutpurse launch pad artefact, because it´s great for replenishing ammo. Looked at a spreadsheet on which boss drops it and it seems to drop from Red Rain, the giant robot in slaughterstar 3000... If the drop chance isn´t extremely high, there is no way I will farm it there. Chance is probably higher if I just hope for a world drop in slaughter shaft. Great video though

Developers were too lazy to do this from the beginning...
I think they were trying to go back to the BL1 method, but it was a bad idea.

Watching this while farming for the Cutsman and I definitely agree the rare spawns are frustrating
I couldn't get any from farming but ended up getting 2 at the same time from the Maliwan Takedown
@@mattgreen1609 I've got one corrosive Cutsman from about 3 hours of farming Borman Nates but I'd say under 20% of the time he actually spawns
RNG is a killer. Farmed Borman Nates yesterday -- he must have been Black Friday shopping b/c he didn't pop the first 10 times I farmed him. Kept farming, no Cutsman (though I did finally get a corrosive one today). Farmed Sylvestro like 30 times, no Laser Sploder, but at least I FINALLY get a Flakker from that zone -- from a Badass Ghost.
K6 has the type of voice that would be in an educational video.
They also need a hot fix or patch so that rare spawns won't despawn when you die
