I also find it quite interesting how now that Yiheng's GAN contract has expired he immediately switched to a MoYu cube and got a WR average in what I can only assume is the first round he has ever competed with that cube in, not to mention his 3.7x average at home
@@JunJun238 on his first ever average with a non gan cube in a competition, he literally tied with the world record average. I mean how much more perfect can that be.
I have a 15 and I've been using Matty's tensions (second tightest setting for both), I've had one pop in several hundred solves which is probably about the frequency that I popped my 12 on the same tensions. I really wanted the 15 to replace my 12 and I really like how it feels but I just get too many of those dumb internal lockups that Cuboss mentioned when they just don't happen for me on the 12, or at least not nearly to the same degree. Overall I'd say the 12 and 15 are on par with each other and it's up to the person to decide which works better for them, I know Matty has switched to the 15 but Tymon has gone back to the 12 after one comp with the 15
@@jameslm810 the 11 still definitely holds up, but the introduction of maglev to gan cubes changes them significantly more than you'd expect. There's a reason that everyone raves about the 12
I’ve done about 500 solves on it. Honestly the 11 and 12 are still better imo. I have fairly light turning but with this cube you have to use barely any force otherwise it’ll constantly lock up.
I would argue a good cube means a cube that can accommodate a wide range of turning styles and be "plug and play" out of the box. The Gan 15 with its pretty high price tag and its "Gan" like characteristics only really fits people who already are in the Gan "Ecosystem"
To be fair, if its an expensive product it should be durable, no ? Why are we hiding behind " oh its your turning style, oh you have aggresive turning" ? That doesnt make sense right. I think what really the problem here is people dont want to spend high dollars for not so high performance/durable product. But then again there are also people who will defend the brand for whatever reason. Personally, no cubes should cost as high as gan's. Its a rip off. Remember 14 with the popping issues, why is no one going beserk on gan charging high price for not so high quality product? But instead we just let it slide with "slap on wrist" type of treatment. If it were other brand doing it, itll be bash to the ground, guarantee. And at the end of the day, its piece of plastics, for all of them molded into a cube shape for us to play & enjoy. But does that warrant gan to charge ridiculous high price for its product ? Gan left bad impression when i spent money and got my hands on 1st)gan 13 and 2nd) gan 14. Its dissapointing really. I ended up gifting them away after i got my hands on moyu products and qiyi 3x3s.best decision ever. and theyre way cheaper too(i would say reasonably priced).I didnt even sell them(gans) back, i just gift them away. Its dissapointing and underwhelming experience with gan products. Two chances, and they dissapoint me twice. I was hoping gan 15 would be that another good cube from gan like the 12(i dont own one, but reviews from other people are saying it is the best although i have tried gan ui and i liked it alot), but im not so sure now~
I don't have one. The general idea I have of it from reviews is that it has less features than gan 14, about the same features as a tornado, which is funny, but it cheaper than the 14 (still 20€ more than tornado v3 tho). As a gan I expect it to be a fast cube, and not everyone performs well with fast cubes. The ideal would be to find a cube that matches your turning style but because of money you may need to stand with a cube and adjust it.
After watching cuboss review and reviewing prices i realize that the gan 12 really is Gans best proposition, the price is great and the adjustment system lets you adjust it a bit more than the 15, i got one after that and im loving it, i will say tho im not fast cuber at all but i do turn really lighly
I really appreciated Cuboss' review of the Aosu V7 and Aochuang V6 where they said that the single track ones are the best deal of the options. It's in their interest to sell more of the triple and double track ones but they specifically told people to avoid them But yeah maybe they're hating too much on gan, I'm still raining one of the rs3m fellas and it's not the cube that's holding me back 😅 😭
I appreciate reviews like these, they make some good points. And it's hard to be completely objective especially as a sponsoree. Liking a cube or not is subjective after all. #MillsforGuru
🤷♀️ I’ve only had a near pop with my gan 14 (not the pro) in a year on using, and I used it fairly loose… No issues with my gan 15 so far. But I’m only ~25 sec so what do I know 😂 If moyu or anyone else comes out with a light weight cube, that wont trigger my ris after 15 mins, I will gladly try to main it.
7:20 wait, pep buy a cube without watching a review and then return it after opening the box because they didn't like it? I don't think you are abligated legally to make the return.
For such an expensive cube, critics are supposed to be hard. If you spend the most, you would expect it to outperform all other cubes. That is obviously not the case for the 15. Only fans in Gan cubes will get the 15, and be satisfied. Most other people, who have tried the v10, tv3 and/or tv4 will be disappointed, since the 15 costs double of the other cubes.
Gan cubes are incredibly carried by their feel If they had the performance they had now and felt like a moyu cube or something (not to say moyu cubes feel bad but gan is gan) they would have like no sales at all (except from the mini m pro that ones great
Just a tip; Don't watch videos at 2x speed, on recorded videos (as opposed to livestream). Because lots of people watch on 2x speed, so now they either get half the video at 4x speed, so incomprehensible, or elae they get half the video (your response) at slower than the 2x speed they want. If you mix speeds, then NEITHER 1x viewers, or 2x get the (whole) video at the speed they want. But if you keep everything at 1x, then ALL viewers are happy, coz they can speed up the whole video (or not) to their choosing.. Thats why big "reaction" channels never watch content, sped up (only livestramers do. Coz live works different; Viewers can't speed up a live broadcast, anyway) Just some constructive criticism, fwiw.
