My experience at Asian champs was overall positive, but the schedule being ahead did really throw off a few of my friends, I wasn't really effected that much by it since I was in the Venue practically the whole day. But afew of my friends that were attending that competition did end up missing their 3x3 rounds and being unable to compete, which absolutely sucked for them
That was my comment getting spoken about, and if I may clarify, when I said overheard, I was first in line to talk to said delegate, with the conversation with the delegate and parent happening infront of me. Definitely soured my opinion of the comp, especially after travelling all the way from Australia just for this comp. Also worth noting that after they finished 3x3, there was about an hour of nothing going on, so getting ahead of schedule meant nothing, as they had to wait till the scheduled opening ceremony after 3x3.
It’s certainly a very bad experience for those competitors who missed 3*3 competition even though they arrived the venue ahead of original time. And the delegates showed no sympathy at all. They threatened those who tried to argue by calling the police! Shame on them!
At my last comp I misread the schedule and thought I was supposed to judge when in reality I had to compete Told the delegate and he let me compete in the next group
if yall want more rants about Asian champs, andy mok made a whole video on it, and that video made me grateful that i was too lazy to sign up for Asian champs
As part of the staff for Asian Champs, we're really sorry about everyone's sour experiences. Remember, this is the first time ever us hosting a competition as huge as this. It doesn't excuse anything, but I can comfirm that a lot the staff were all overworked and stressed during this 😓
Because almost all the staff have to be there for almost a week (30th October till 5th November), from early as 8am to 10pm. For my experience, I had to cancel a lot of the events I'm competing just to make some time for rest. Hope everyone there still had a great time there in Malaysia, I'm sorry in behalf of all malaysians.
I was visiting on day 2 and I was really surprised at the speed they were calling out groups during 3x3. As a Malaysian, i think the way the team handled the schedule was terrible. (Also the fact they make you pay 60 bucks to enter the hall as a visitor is mad)
I feel terrible for the people that weren't able to compete because of this especially that kid who was denied entrance because they needed to "learn a lesson". it is not even their fault to begin with but they had to take full responsibility and learn a lesson(?) from it.
They should tell you to show up 30 mins before your group starts, and tell you when you register that your group could start up to 30 minutes before it says on your groups tab, then also email about it starting early, then I think it becomes fine
As a Malaysian, i am very sorry for this. they lack communication, management, etc. 1 more thing is i personally think is that they shouldve made the venue in the heart of the capital city (Kuala Lumpur) so that people all around the world can experience the city. Hope Malaysia gets a redemption
@@kazukilolll7737 When they changed the venue from KL to Putrajaya I knew something was up. They're basically locking all these competitors half an hour away from the city centre (at best) while having a packed as hell schedule. No chance to even remotely explore KL during lunch breaks (which apparently ceased to exist anyway).

Yeah that's horrible

Wait that makes this whole thing a lot dumber, i feel bad for you and everyone else who got unfairly disqualified

the police?! That's so silly 🤪
This is ridiculous but in the netherlands ive had it that i was late and i could still compete with a later group (If that event was still going on)
Same in norway
At my last comp I misread the schedule and thought I was supposed to judge when in reality I had to compete
Told the delegate and he let me compete in the next group
Same thing here, this may be a thing of bigger comps, or maybe even an asia thing

it was a very fun comp, those issues were somewhat significant but it was still a great experience
@@akashsreedharan yep, but they rushed a lot of the finals towards the end
I didn't know the dinner break was cancelled and almost missed pyra round 2
oof
one time i came to my event on time but it was ahead of schedule but luckily my group was called as soon as i got their. (This was at a small comp)

Oh what?! That is a chunk of change for a spectator ticket
Some would say getting ahead of schedule at major is bad scheduling.

yeah that's really tough

I was there, i was trying to defend the scheduling but after asian champs it really is bad
if you want to change the schedule
at least make it so that the people who haven't competed let them compete at the regular time
Yes maybe a section where they can do their solves in peace without any distractions (for example, maybe 3x3)
I kinda stayed in the venue for the whole day without leaving
solid strategy
5bld was cool especially with their setup. Other than that this is prettt weird.
My experience at Asians was positive
glad to hear it!
It actually sound petty offensive to me.
