    My kitchen sink gets jammed up at the baffled tee. We don't have a dishwasher so I got rid of the baffled tee and just run it straight. Since I have to clean the pipes out and it's a pain I pay close attention to what goes down it, especially grease. My wife though thinks that it's too much trouble to get all the grease out of the pan and what the heck am I around for if not to do stuff like clean the pipes.

    Merry Christmas Jim. Got a question for you, an Oak tree on my neighbor's property has been jamming me for years and of course, I would call Roto rooter. What do you think of sending a foaming root killer down the clean out sewer pipe? Cap'n Tony

      Yea, I would try it. I would also put some water softener salt around the ground where the roots of the tree are coming near your septic tank. Tree roots do not like salt.

    So for basic drain opening products-what are some real good choices or are they non-existent?

    Jim, how about a slow drain tub? This only happens when using the bottom tub spout. When switched to the shower head, it drains fine, assuming due to less water output.

      When people tell me they have a slow tub drain, I first turn on the shower head and look at how much water accumulates on the bottom of the tub. Unless it’s covering your feet, your drain is working fine. There is a lot more water draining out of a full bathtub than when taking a shower. It just looks like it’s draining slow.

      My kitchen sink eas backing up and then draining slowly so I used baking soda and vinegar let it sit for awhile GOOD AS NEW. Man she was bubbling like crazy too with whatever was in there! 👍💯♥️🇺🇸
      Do my tubs and bathroom sinks the same way.

      Is it leaking through a ceiling or is the wall wet? If not, maybe it’s just a running toilet. Maybe a toilet is running above you. Is this a single home or is someone living above you? I need more information please.

    My toilet is always getting clogged I clean the outside cle a n out no difference so will a new toilet with more flushing power help

    • @TheGrumpyPlumber
      @TheGrumpyPlumber  5 месяцев назад

      It could be a drain problem or a toilet problem. If the drain is not sloped enough which should be at 1/4” per foot, it could cause your problem. The old toilet could be limed up so not giving you a good flush. You might flush the solids separately from the paper. If you try these ideas and still not happy, then buy a new toilet.

    My issue is the plug in my bathroom sink does not pull out like most, what's the trick? I dont want to break it😁 thanks much!

      You need to disconnect the pop up lever that is underneath the sink. Loosen the nut and pull the lever out and then pull out the pop up. Then you can clean the drain with a large screwdriver.
