- Squeaky floors are often caused by one of three problems. Learn what's causing your noise and how to fix it.
Always use goggles when drilling and hammering. Be sure to wash hands after using lubricant.
Forget making plugs for the holes. Just use break away flooring screws where you can break the heads off.
Absolutely. Save time, effort and a better looking finish.
You can try as much as you want... those will fail to permanently secure the boards i.e, after some time, the squeaks come back and you still have those holes patched... yeah, I'm still looking for something better and next experiment will be "inject glue with an syringe"...
This method is from the 1920's. Just buy some finishing trim head screws, and fill with a wax pencil.
Some of the carpentry/wood vocabulary throughout sounds eerily similar to the way characters in rick and morty speak about made up things. The schleem and the boinker must slide under the hoedown to properly secure the floor boards
don't have a wood floor simple.
Does this seem like a 1990s video or is just me
Who in the world uses flat head screws now a days.
A maniac, I tell you.
The chap in video😊
A man from the 1950s
This video tells you to check what is under the floor before drilling down, but if you are nailing down all the cables and pipes magically move themselves out of the way so no warning needed for that
We're going to try the top of the floor with screws instead of nails. We suspect nails are coming loose on our wood floors on this 1940 house we bought 15 yrs. ago. Very helpful video. Thank you so much
Oh! So that's where the term bung hole comes from.
