The Swamp Thing cancellation is even weirder than what Marc said: they had worked in North Carolina under the idea of getting a huge tax relief to cover the costs, like Georgia etc. hand out to productions in exchange for local labor, etc. It's a grant from the state's commerce dept, and the belief was the grant would cover about $60m+ of Swamp Thing's $85 million(!) cost of the first season, but upon further review, the grant would only cover $12 million and leaving WB and the like on the hook for the rest. All of a sudden, doing a relatively niche series on a niche app for the cost of a mid--to-high-budget Hollywood production, plus the logistics of trying to find a home and/or rebuild the expansive indoor swamp set, plus the uncertainty of the DC Universe with Warner gearing up their own app (my guess: DCU gets folded into that) put a stake in it. That's why they abruptly stopped production with three episodes left, they did not want to pour any more money into the project once they learned of the massive bill coming their way.
These are series of books I would love to see turned into either a television series or movie series... *_MICRONAUTS, RUNELORDS, RHAPSODY: SYMPHONY OF AGES, THE WAYFARER REDEMPTION, THE DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN, AREA 51, ..._*

The Villains question. I do enjoy your choice of Hellfire Club but I think their strings need to be a little longer and they need to fix a bit of continuity or at least give us enough of a break from Emma Frost and Jean Grey. This also in consideration of the show The Gifted which has The Inner Circle which is a similar concept. If you want to go mutants what about the Brotherhood of Evil as some weird coed fraternity for the Deligerantly Gifted (I am very proud of that). Much like what we were shown in the animated series X-Men Evolution and a little more Animal House vs. Dead Poets Society with the focus being on how they are outcasts that just want a world that they can be themselves in which would fit in with a modern aesthetic. Then there is, The Cabal; we have had Loki, Emma Frost, Doctor Doom, Loki, and Norman Osborn already introduced to us. Leaving Namor and The Hood as the 2 other original members to still appear. Maybe Morbius will bring Dracula. We are in a post Endgame world, maybe without Tony Stark, Justin Hammer and Aim work together for .... the true Mandarin (with all the dang rings) and MODOK. In DC I would love to see a movie where Reveres Flash needs to recruit Villians between time and Lobo against Darkseid and General Zod with Brainiac in control. Superwoman has some great female characters to use such as Cheetah and Barda maybe something with them kicking ass? You can take it back to Gotham make it a little political thriller with Court of Owls and you never have to present Bruce Wayne in the Batsuit. "Take away the suit and what do you have...Genius, Playboy, Philanthropist". Let's see Bruce Wayne playing into the detective side of his role.
Dark Phoenix actually earned $32 Million its opening weekend and that would be good for the movie that cost less and had less advance press. Since Dark Phoenix cost a shit ton of money and was the 7th X-Men movie, then $32 million is a flop. Had it been $32 million for an obscure movie that cost $7 million to make, then that would be an excellent weekend for that movie. By comparison, A Quiet Place was considered a hit when it came out. Way to bury the lead with a Reboot trailer! Hyped for it kev! Great show!
Surprised no one mentioned Thunderbolts while brainstorming super-villain team-up stories.
Conrad Veidt as The Joker, Paul Newman as Hal Jordan, Victor McLaglen as Juggernaut (Brain Dennehy is not dead but he'd have made a 100% perfect Juggernant)
HALALUJAH! First 30 seconds made me so FUCKN happy!
The universe I'd like to see adapted to film: The Dragonriders of Pern
