If you expect a hollywood movie, dont watch it. ONLY WATCH IT IF YOU WANT TO BE LOST AND FEEL LONELY FOR 2 HOURS AND ENJOY THAT FEELING.
Bu kaliteli filmi en çok yabancıların tanıması bizim halkın çoğunun bunları bilmemesi halkımızın anca ucuz yaz dizilerini reyting rekortmeni yapması ... Acıyorum
Just saw this yesterday....a mesmerising and hypnotically beautiful film...the shot of the apple falling from the tree, rolling down the hill and into the stream was simply stunning..The comparison to Tarkovsky is spot on and I think it would be fair to say that it evokes Haneke as well. Everyone should see it Turkish or otherwise.

This film is stunning. Long, static shots, beautiful framing and composition, extended periods of quiet in which the viewer is obliged to do nothing but observe men going about their thankless and procedural business whilst beneath the surface they tangle with existential issues brought about about by the distinct lack of any absolute truths.
Ceylan displays pure, exhilarating mastery in this film: it is made with such confidence and flair. In one shot, he shows us a tableau of five men in a car, two cops in the front, and between the two officials in the back, there is Kenan, his gaunt figure in darkness. The four law-mens' faces are illuminated in the faint flame-light, but Kenan's is just an outline: and Ceylan holds the shot, moving the camera forward just slightly, until it dawns on us how disturbing his silent presence is.
As a movie, yeah it's boring, but it's very real. It's meant to feel long and tedious, because that's how real life plays out. But Imagine for one second that you were there in the film in real life, wouldn't those events haunt you forever? If you say no I doubt you have a soul.
I felt confused and a bit disapointed after I watched it but I couldnt stop thinking about it. Now I love it but will never recommend it to a friend because as you can see from the comments below it divides opinion and is not or everyone.
Plot A group of men, including a doctor (Muhammet Uzuner) and a prosecutor (Taner Birsel), search an Anatolian town for the shallow grave of a murder victim. But what motivated the crime and what is the killer hiding?

@@talhabaz1599 No it's not. An apple falling down a tree is not a spoiler. That's ridicilous
I just found Nuri and Aleksandr Sukonov, they reminded me a lot of Tarkovsky immediately-it’s true..
What a fantastic, fantastic, movie.

"I just wanted to make you remember this movie again."
Thiis is not a film , this is the life.. This is a novel not a text.. This is not Avatar or Lord of the rings.. This is the art of NBC.
Very nice bro.
This film is MASTERLY executed. The ending had me churning and gripped to my seat.
one of the best films this decade... stunning
Excellent cinematography and one of the best scripts ever written.
