Totally relatable, Jimmy's set it and forget it, and turn through the ball ended up saving my game. Tried all sorts of tricks but this common sense approach works. Just have to trust that you will make contact as your body is doing the work and not the arms so much. About 4 trackman sessions plus going through the motions at home every day transformed my weak fade/slices into draws, although the odd hook. Driver went from about 220 to 260 (total ) and 7 iron from 130 to 160.

Hi Jimmy, this is the best instructional golf lesson video I have ever seen on RUclips, I have been watching your videos and I can say I have gone from a 20 handicap to a 14, I played yesterday and shot a 85 on a very difficult 70 par course yesterday, God Bless, thank you.
Jimmy I was the same way. You teach a very basic swing. Newbies like myself have watched too many videos. I’m 55 years old and started playing 6 months ago. I’ve been doing this basic swing for a while now. Guys are commenting on they can’t believe how far I hit the ball with such a slow steady swing. The result is good contact and letting the club do the work. I have a lot of work to do but your videos have helped tremendously. Thanks again!
Jimmy, I had the best day of golf today. My friends and I got to play golf in the beautiful sunny 50 degree weather in St Louis. I played my 7 iron so good my friends are saying how are you doing that hitting it right on the green. We play on a par 3 course. I have been watching your videos religiously and I love that they are so repetitious. I also was choking down on my putter and putting a lot better. 321, that helped me, I’m going on tour!,😂😂👍 I’m so glad I have your videos to watch this winter.

Great video. This is a reason why people should take lessons before attempting to play sports like golf or tennis. Bad habits are hard to break and even after correcting them they seem to come back when under pressure. I wish I had seen this and some of your other videos long ago!
I had a 30 year layoff from Golf. I started taking lessons this past summer, in Florida, extremely hot, I could’ve passed out It was so hard to change my swing. So I can relate to what Vic is going through. Great job Jimmy!
JIMMY - I am Vick 😂 I will be practicing this drill for days! You had good patience with him and we 20 handicappers really appreciate it. I know I have bad habits that are ingrained into my dang swing. THANK YOU! 🙏🏻

Hi Jimmy, I took up golf after i retired. I've been playing for 5 years now and have always strugglled with my irons. I have a 27 handicap and struggle to hit in the low 90's. I started watching your videos about 6 weeks ago and have been practicing as you have shown. I am also playing the ball back futher in my stance as mentioned in other videos. I broke 90 the last 3 times out since using your methods and am hitting the irons 100 percent better. Of course its winter here in New England now so I haven't gone out since. I plan to keep practicing at home over the winter and hopefully start hitting in the 80's consistently. Thank you for helping me improve my game.
Hi Jimmy, about a month ago RUclips pushed your channel into my feed and I've been watching your videos all the time now. Been trying to practice what you teach, and this one lit the light bulb as to why I'm slicing so much. Thanks so much. BTW, enjoy your videos with Manolo
There were several times where he was keeping it shut, but instead of turning he goes out over the top and hits the hozzle. He really needs help with balance and rotation. He's leaning in and too far on his toes causing him to be very off balance.
Jimmy, before I listened to you I had a different swing thought and technique for my irons, woods and driver. After listening to you I now have 1 swing thought and technique for everything. Golf has been more fun now and I finally break 90 more consistently now. Thanks for all the help! You have totally simplified my golf swing
Thanks Jimmy, I have the same problem , swing with hands fast, I hit good shots but not very consistent. This video is so good, as good as having a lesson.
Guys ----- did anyone notice that Vic is pulling his head to look at the shot. Alright Sir--- a few things --- stop looking up at the shot, the ball will go where it goes but if you remain relaxed and looking at the ball through contact. That wil make a WORLD of difference. Second --- does anybody notice Jimmy's right hand??? If you look carefully you will notice he is pulling the club back with his pointer finger and thumb in tbe initial take away. FEEL that --- we all know feel and real are two different things but that's what you should be feeling. Try it !!!! Keep grinding Vic, your doing awesome Kid !!!
High handicap Jimmy groupie here. I have noticed that if you don’t turn your hips, it’s almost impossible to keep that face closed on the backswing, if you try to it will feel like you can’t do it. There are two things I have in my head now, head still, turn hips. When I do those 2 things everything else just works.
Nice job Jimmy!!🎉 I understand him. I was a lineman, used to bullying things around, lol. I want to be so easy, it's pathetic how I can't control it!! There is a golf aid that you slip on to hold that position. I forgot the name of it though.

I forced myself to watch this 3 times. I've concluded that this video has to be the most painful video I have ever watched on RUclips. As George Forman used to say Vic, "better take up cooking".
Jimmy, I haven't watched this video yet, but I am hoping you read this because I watched you in some pain at Menifee. I think I have two things that will help you with those short putts. First, Hogan said "the guy that adjusts first and fastest is the guy that wins". 1. You can change your aim point during your round on those short putts. It's like a shooter would use "Kentucky Windage" I noticed you missed a lot of those short putts left...if that happens during a round, rather than try to fix your stroke aim more right. The second is a mechanical fix...my buddy told me if I feel my right elbow slightly touching my right side during the stroke, it helps with not taking the putter outside and coming across it from the outside. Actually there is a third thing.... sometimes good golfers like yourself let fear take over and "decelerate" through the impact zone. Other than missing those few short putts that could have put you even, your long game was great.
hey Steve. for me its all practice. I have neglected my putting for about 6 months because I was focusing on ball striking. I will be back to the putter starting today and by 2025 ill be a total package. thanks for watching. -jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
I am in similar position to this gentleman. Watching with interest. I also swing to hard and have same result. I top and hit fat sometimes. Also tend to reverse pivot on back swing some times for some reason. I see what you are doing, but doing it is challenging. But I will keep trying.
I waited the whole video for you to say, “Wave at the Camera” 👋🏻 We all say, “I don’t know why I do that” 🤷🏼♂️ That’s golf ⛳️ 🏌️♂️ The balance thing might be about getting the weight onto the left foot and posting up after impact (hold the finish)
The client's shoulders are super stiff and he locks the right elbow on the takeaway. Relax. He also mentioned he didn't think he had a "good grip" with the stronger grip. I'll bet he is squeezing the life out of the grip. Relax. This lesson is great, and Jimmy is really patient.😀
I think his problem is that he tries to keep the right arm as straight as possible. He needs to tuck it in and flex it as you do. Thats why it is painful for him. Compare your elbow at 29:03 with his elbow at 28:06.
