Tom Presto | I know. I'm the Frankenstein monster of the Who community. Every hardcore fan hates me! There's just something about series 12 that I like. Just like series 4 and 10 it hardly has any bad episodes(to me, stop poking me with your pitchfork). There's only one episode that I don't enjoy watching(get that blasted torch away from me). I certainly am a special Whovian. A monster? Yes. A monster with opinions? Yes. I monster worthy of being burnt to the stake? As long as it's medium-rare.
@@woozleproductions9760 I decently enjoyed all of series 12 (except for Orphan 55, obviously) but for me what killed it was, like series 11, the lack of a believable doctor/companions relationship, and the fact that some of the payoffs just didn't land. Like, I enjoy Fugitive and Timeless Children as individual episodes, but the greater implications kinda just grind at me. It feels cheap. Plus, for me, it just doesn't feel as magic as series 1, 4, 5 and basically all of Capaldi's run. I'd put series 12 on a B or C tier personally, and I'd put series 1 at A or S, since it was such a solid opening season save for the farting aliens.
I loved the doctor's arc in series 8, sure it's very different to 9 and 10 but I think each is a great take in its own right. If anything I'd say his performance in series 9 should've been toned down just a touch, like series 10 ended up doing.
Just that one scene in "Dark Water" with the TARDIS keys is light-years beyond anything we've gotten out of the Chibnall era. For that matter, I'd take the relatively middling "Robot of Sherwood" over nearly every Whittaker story to date.
@@tmp123ful I have mixed feelings about his arc in 8 to be honest, but his arc across all three of his series is the best any doctor has ever had in my opinion. Not saying he's the best doctor, but he has a super satisfying character arc.
THANK YOU!!!!! Like,Series 9 Has Such Good Stories.Under The Lake/Before The Blood,The Zygon 2 Parter,Heaven Sent And I Actually Like Hell Bent And Series 10 Is Just ICONIC
@@user-fu7zf4ck9z Well The Girl Who Waited is one of the best episodes in the Smith Era. Night Terrors is fun. The God Complex is a mixed bag but I wouldn't call it trash. I know why people didn't like the finale, but I really enjoyed it. So for me, besides two duds, the back half is still pretty good
Series 10 is the most consistent Capaldi series. As much as I really like him, I felt that Series 8 was a little underwhelming. Series 9 had low lows, but very, VERY high highs, which turn it in a better series overall than 8. But Series 10, hovewer... Series MOTHERF*CKING 10... It is much more consistent. It didn't have highs as high as Series 9's, but it did NOT have lows as low as 9's or even 8's. It is Capaldi at his peak; he just got better after each season.
I respect you too much to be annoyed at your high ranking of series 12 - Series 5 is my favourite simply cause of 'Vincent and the Doctor' and also Matt Smith owning every episode.
Every actor in the lead role has their moments, Whittaker included, but it's really something to go back and watch Smith just smashing scene after scene out of the park in his first two series. Eccleston and Tennant are fine actors, and they definitely have standout scenes and episodes, but for me, as someone who started watching during the Tennant era, it was a quantum leap when Smith took over. A vastly more nuanced and fully inhabited performance, at least for S5 and S6 (he had some clunkers in S7).
Dude can you imagine if Smith had been given great material for S7? If Moffat wasn't so busy planning for the Day of the Doctor and plotted out some better arcs and wrote better episodes, maybe we could have considered his era the best in all who.
My top 12 Modern Who seasons are: 1. Series 9 - I personally found Series 9 to be the best season of Modern Era, and is certainly both Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi's best season overall. We see both Capaldi and Jenna Coleman at their best with Capaldi finally coming into his own as Twelve and it was this particular season that made him my personal favourite Doctor alongside Tom Baker. Clara was allowed to shine alongside Capaldi to create a perfect Doctor/companion duo, plus her exit in 'Face the Raven' was beautifully handled. This season also had a lot of great stories with plenty of twists and epic moments that stayed with me long after I had watched them with some being my personal favourites of all time like 'The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar', 'Face the Raven' and obviously 'Heaven Sent'. Also, bringing back the two-parter format worked perfectly for, IMO. While I personally found 'Hell Bent' deeply flawed, I didn't think it was the worst episode in Doctor Who history, plus 'Sleep No More' was just passable at best for me. 2. Series 5 3. Series 4 4. Series 1 5. Series 8 6. Series 10 7. Series 3 8. Series 2 9. Series 6 10. Series 12 11. Series 7 12. Series 11
personally season 1 is still my favourite. I think it has the best story arcs, side characters, mystery box, and world building, with some really stellar stand alone stories including my favourite story ever (empty child), and a killer finale.
@@meris8486 capaldi is my doctor, I like his and Clara's relationship and some of my favourite ever stories are in it being under the lake/before the flood and heaven sent, I don't out and out hate the opener or hell bent and the only duds for me are episodes 6 and 9, though there are things I would change about the series ofc but for pure watchability for me, I love series 9
I feel like 2 doesn’t get as much love as I thought. I loved the chemistry between rose and the doctor and I feel like that’s the best pairing we’ve had in NewWho
@@NameWasntTaken you see, I love rose with 9 but I'm not a fan of how lovesick rose became of him like when she was constantly pulling faces at Lynda with a y from parting of the ways or degrading Mickey... I much prefer 10 with Donna, 11 with the ponds, 12 with both Clara and bill to 10 and rose
Yeah series 8 shows the development of the doctor and Clara's relationship and allows the viewers to see how the doctor has changed with his new incarnation. Also the hating soldiers thing is more about his complicated thoughts on Danny than soldiers as a whole
Here's my list. It was very hard to make, but I also enjoyed doing it, so many thanks for that ! :D S - Series 1, Series 4, Series 5, Series 10 A- Series 3, Series 9, Series 8 B- Series 6, Series 12 C- Series 11 D- Series 7, Series 2 Peter Capaldi is my favourite Doctor, which is why his season may be a bit higher than they should. However, Series 10 is just amazing and sooo underrated. Deserves S tier more than any others, you will not change my mind !
@@themistakery6834 I rewatched quite a lot of Who during the lockdown, and I think that I would swap series 12 and series 3, as much as I love Martha. And yes ! World enough and time is one of my absolute favourite (straight after Heaven Sent). But Capaldi has a lot of incredible underrated story, like Under The Lake/ Before the Flood, Flatline, Listen, Mummy on the Orient Express. I'm also a big fan of Extremis/The Pyramid at the End of the World. And although The Lie of the Land is not as strong, it's still a great 3 parter. I don't know if you've seen Torchwood children of Earth, but Peter Capaldi is in it, and he is incredible there too. (This story overall is a masterpiece.)
@@lachlangray1888 Yeah I get that S4 is a wonderful season but I just don't love it like I do 5 and 10. That mostly has to do with Donna where she's not my favourite companion (but she is good) I also think Journey's End is messy and some of the middle episodes drag like Planet Of The Ood and Doctor's Daughter. But then someone could say the same of Knock Knock and Lie Of The Land. It's more that 10 and 5 are consistently great, whereas in 4 you have Unicorn And The Wasp and Sontaran Two Parter which are fine episodes. But I would take Oxygen, Empress Of Mars, Thin Ice from 10 over them. Or in 5 you have the Angel Two Parter and Amy's Choice which are excellent.

S: 4 (when the "worst" episode of the series is "quite good"-tier, you now it's Superior) A: 5 (I wanted to put it in S bc it was my first but.. looking back it itsn't as good as series 4), 3, 1 B: 10, 2 C: 6, 9 D: 7, 8 E: 11, 12 (when the worst episode is okey- tier, well...)
8 was my first series properly watching but I used to just watch random episodes so I actually remembered most of them when I watched them from the start. Series 1 is still probably my favourite did such a great job on reintroducing everything and Eccleston’s doctor made such an amazing impression with only one series
My ranking - S - Series 5 (literal perfection) Series 6 (so experimental and pure event TV excellent) Series 9 (dark, experimental, rich storytelling loved every story) A - Series 12 (Bar Praxeus I had a great time and adored S12) Series 4 (EPIC in every way the nostalgia here is amazing) Series 3 (again, just brilliant...bar the Dalek two parter but that was fun) B - Series 8 (a mixed bag debut year but some great stories) Series 11 (such a needed revamp just again like S8 tonally it was all over the place lacking an arc but S12 helped me enjoy it more) Series 1 (nostalgia galore, takes me back to being 12 watching it) C - Series 10 (didn't like the Bill/12/Nardole dynamic that much and every week felt below par/done before bar Missy being excellent) Series 7 (the end of my fave era and despite Smith being top tier as always this run lacked a lot of punch sadlY) D - Series 2 (my least favourite time hasn't been kind to this one sadly bar Fireplace,Reunion and Satan Pit there's really not anything i love here)
Tbh for the majority of who it actually fits comfortably without contradicting stuff. (It explains the morbius doctors, etc). It's only with some of moffatts who it contradicts. Though having said that I'm not a fan of the timeless child myself as it means the doctor is special and they shouldn't be
Please do something like this again! Here's mine: S 4 (classic) 5 (not a single bad episode) 9 (On rewatch found it very emotional (peter capaldi was amazing!!!)) A 1(solid series, characters on point) 3 (loved Martha, underrated series) 7 (also underrated (and for nostalgia reasons)) 10 (also also underrated) B 2 (hit and miss) 6 (great characters but confusing a f***) 8 (enjoyed the stories, didn't like he characters) 11 (I have a strange guilty enjoyment of this series!) C 12 (meh, seems like it was trying to reference and use doctor who characters too much instead of actually being Doctor Who... And also the companions didn't do much good) D ---empty---
in my opinion S Tier (The S stands for Season 4): Season 4 A Tier: Season 5, Season 8, Season 10 B Tier: Season 1, Season 3, Season 6 C Tier: Season 2, Season 9 D Tier: Season 7, Season 11, Season 12 dont kill me 😎😎
If I had to pick 1 New Who series to call my favourite, it would be the first one, with Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor as that was the start of the type of Doctor Who that I grew up with (which at that point I was 11 years old, but nearly 12)
Awesome video!! Loved where you placed the ad break (that was genius! xD). My favourite is series 5 because it's got my favourite doctor in it, favourite companion and I think the story arc is one of the strongest we've had. My little brother's is series 3 because it has his favourite doctor, companion and he genuinely loves all the episodes :)
@@meris8486 same here, after that my girls were not interested in doctor who, they watched bits but before season 6 we as a family watched everything together.
Josh Snares I started with Series 8, and then for some reason watched Series 6. Don’t know why I did that but Series 6 will always hold a special place in my heart.
My OPINION S - Series 1, Series 4, Series 5 A- Series 3, Series 6, Series 10 B - Series 2, Series 9, Series 12 C- Series 7, Series 8 D- Series 11 (Overall actually very similar to Crispy’s)
My list would be S: 4, 5 A: 1 B: 3, 10, 12 C: 2, 6, 9 D: 7, 8, 11 This was harder than expected. The top ones were easy for me but I struggled with the B, C and D tiers. Because for example I don't dislike series 2 and if not compared to the others I definetly would have put it in B. I like series 3 better but I don't think it belongs in A. There still needs to be a distinction between 2 and 3 tho so I moved 2 one tier down. That's why there are three series in the D section. I don't think any of those seasons are terrible, they are just the weaker than the others in my opinion and that's why I had to move them down. So I hope that explain how this came together :D
I remember my dad being excited for Doctor Who coming back, so I would watch it with him. We just watched it on and off because we couldn't always get ABC and when we did, it was fuzzy lol so season 7 was the first time I was to watch the episodes in order and when they came out
My list: S: 5, 4, 7 (FIGHT ME) A: 6, 3, 1, 9 B: 2, 8, 10 C: D: 12 (would have been higher but that finale just.... NO) 11.... It has its own category that isn't even on the list I hate it that much but I do love Jodie Whitaker just not the writing
@@meris8486 well 11 is my favourite doctor, I love most of the stories and I find it fun. I feel like sometimes people forget that doctor who should at times feel like a pantomime or have that extra comedy value which is what episodes like dinosaurs on a spaceship have. I understand why people don't like it because the writing can be questionable but I love it.
My list would be similar- the main difference would be moving Series 1 and 11 up to S tier, and series 8 down to the very bottom tier. Otherwise, I mostly agreed with all your picks.
11 in S tier????? Tell me that’s a typo god please tell me thats a typo. Because if you genuinely think season 11 is some of the best in modern doctor who, you need to get your mind checked, it’s garbage.
S tier: 5, 4, 9 A tier: 6, 10, 1 B tier: 2, specials, 8 C tier: 12, 7, 3 D tier: 11 Totally agree regarding the Slitheen and Boom Town. I also don’t think there’s any “terrible” series. But I think 11 is the weakest.
I'm with you about Jodie as the Doctor. I strongly believe that if she had people like Whithouse or Davies, she would have been an awesome Doctor. It was Chibnall's inconsistencies that let it down.
I think that seasons 1 to 7 were brilliant. 8 went downhill because of time heist, kill the moon. 9 was good but the zygon story, sleep no more and the ghost story let it down. 10 was capaldis best as there was no bad episodes and season 11 and 12 are criminally underrated
My list (biased as Matt is my favourite doctor, I’m okay to admit it) S- 6, 5, 4 (fight me, in that order as well) A- 7, 2, 1, 8 B- 3, 12, C- 9 D- 10, 11 My favourite season is 6. I feel like the whole thing between the doctor and river is AMAZING. And Amy and Rory is just superb, the acting is on point and I don’t get bored of any episode, no not even let’s kill hitler or the curse of the black spot fight me. 5 is a very very close second as it has so much of my childhood in it. Matt was the first doctor I watched as it came out and the eleventh hour therefore has a special place in my heart and may be higher as an episode for that reason. My favourite doctor who episode of all time is the Big Bang as it’s an epic finale. 4 is then third as it’s amazing and tennant in my opinion is the best actor during emotional parts and his final episode is just heartbreaking.
Since everyone doing it XD: S Tier: Series 4, Series 1 A Tier: Series 3, Series 2, Series 5 B Tier: Series 10 C Tier: Series 7, Series 6 D Tier: Series 12, Series 11, Series 9, Series 8 What can I say? Part nostalgia, part RTD's genius, but RTD had one of the most consistent and close to perfects runs on a show I've seen. LOL! Had to edit because I forgot Series 12 was a thing XD Whoops...
Not much people showing much love for season 7 and, though unusual, season 1. Personally, they are my favourites by far - with Season 1 having a really well knit series and Season 7 being near close to perfect, with only a single episode which is below great. My tier list is; S. 1st Season and 7th season (They are equal, unless you include the 2013 specials, then 7th is better) A. 10th Season, 5th Season B. 2nd Season, 6th Season, 8th Season, 9th Season, 3rd Season and 4th Season C. 12th Season D. 11th Season To clarify; - My first episode was The End of Time - Part One. - Christmas Specials are considered the the first episodes during Davies and the last during Moffat’s. - I did include the Series 4 specials as Season 4, which lowered it in my ranking. - Season 12 might change, due to the Christmas special, It does almost reach B tier - if it wasn’t for Orphan 55, Can you hear me and The Timeless Children.
S: 4. It speaks volumes that the weakest episode is the opener- an okay story but extremely watchable due to the comedic duo of the Doctor and Donna. 10. Loved Bill's interactions with Capaldi. Could've done with a bit less (did you know I'm gay moments- speaking as a gay man myself), but I thought most if not all the episodes were great. A: 3. Martha's jealously towards the Doctor knocks this out of the S-tier. Some amazing stories pulled back down to earth a bit for that reason alone. 5. Smith's first tenure was a perfect coat of paint on an established formula. 1. The one that started them all. Brilliant stories, and Eccleston's acting was just phenomenal. B: 2. Talk about a polar season. Some absolute highs mixed with some lows. Rose and the Doctor had grown into their roles superbly. Contains one of my fav two-parters in the Satan Pit/The Impossible Planet. 12. I can't bring myself to put this any higher. I thoroughly, THOROUGHLY liked (even loved) this season. But it falls down in three key areas. One, the three companions- still too many and they show couldn't balance them. Two, the lore-complications with the Timeless Child (I won't go into it here- but luckily they have some creative creative wiggle room to get out of their mess), and three, WHERE'S MY BENNI C: 8. Capaldi's first tenure. There were a mix of good and bad episodes, with Clara's angst of "I don't know who you are" going through the entire entire season, becoming highly tiresome. 9. Struggled to remember much of this season beyond Heaven Sent and the disappointing Hell Bent squandering all Heaven Sent set up. Face the Raven was good, but the rest of the season was meh, with the other notable moment being the "why did I choose this face" D: 6. Peak Moffat overcomplication. Whenever I go back to watch series 6 I feel so odd about it. I can't really describe why I don't it much, so I'm gonna say this my most subjective ranking and leave it at that. E: 7. Now hear me out here. This season was just absolute garbage from a structural point of view. Balancing the season between sending off the fan-favourites Amy and Rory with introducing a highly conceptual companion in Clara just did not work. Amy and Rory's last 5 episodes had one good outing in the western episode and 4 absolute duds, with their send-off further breaking the Weeping Angels. Then you have Clara- a highly conceptual companion that needed an entire season to flesh her out. Rings of Arkhenaten (sp?) was the standout here, with no other notable episodes. 11. I was so hopeful with a female doctor, but ultimately it wasn't especially the weak stories that compromised the season as a whole, but having three companions. Like, what was Yaz even there for? Even in her own episode (Demons of the Punjab), she felt like... an afterthought? Then we have the issue of the aliens. Like, fine, have original monsters but there has to be some balance with the old monsters- like why do you reckon they brought back the Daleks in Resolution?
Don’t ask me to do this again because it’ll probably be completely different but here we go. 12. Worst: Series 8 11. Series 9 10. Series 7 9. Series 11 8. Series 10 7. Series 12 6. Series 2 5. Series 6 4. Series 3 3. Series 5 2. Series 1 1. Best: Series 4
Yours is super close to mine. Though I have a personal love for series 7 that most others seem to not share. My only big difference from yours is 7 being up a row and 8 being down a row.
S Tier: Series 4, Series 10 A Tier: Series 1, Series 3, Series 5, Series 8 B Tier: Series 6, Series 9, Series 12 C Tier: Series 2 D Tier: Series 7, Series 11 Probably idk?
Personally, I really didn't like the River Song season 6 arc. It just felt they were trying to force the fans to like her. Jam her into every aspect of the Doctor's life. _Doctor's assassin._ _Doctor's Wife._ _Companions' child._ Anyway, I'd probably shift Peter's seasons a smidge higher. He had the best arc for his entire regeneration. Oh, and the dialog with Clara was perfect.
I agree, Jodie Whitaker is a great doctor and I like the companions! The problem is that the writing could be way better. I had fun with both seasons but I'm glad that season 12 was actually a season not just monster of the week.
my tier list plus unnecessary commentary: *S tier:* *Series 4 (and associated specials), Series 5 ( + A Christmas Carol, aka the best self-contained ep of all time)* *A Tier:* *Series 8, Series 3, Series 1, Series 7B* I split up 7A and 7B just because they do feel like two totally separate series and were even marketed as such and I have a VERY UNPOPULAR opinion placing 7B this high I know. Sure there were problems with 7B but it's where I got involved in the show as a serious fan rather than just a child watching Doctor Who and I actually think it's an amazing run of episodes, ie. there was no one episode that objectively flopped like there usually is in other seasons. Clara's character introduction was set up to fail due to being squeezed into a shorter than normal series and could've worked really well with more development (also a lot of the audience were really still hung up on the Pond-era and in my opinion had an unconscious bias against Clara and the darker version of 11 we saw). Also gave us the iconic Name/Day/Time of the Doctor trilogy, and was churned out in a very short period of time with incredible production. 7B is exactly the sort of Doctor Who I like, half dark fairytale/half sci-fi mystery. Logic tells me I definitely can't put it on the S tier because it simply isn't as good as 4 and 5 but it would break my heart to place it any lower. Also fun fact I really didn't like Series 8 when it first aired because I was one of those annoying teenage girls who whined on and on about him being too old. Joke's on me though because as an older and (debatably) wiser adult Capaldi is my absolute favourite Doctor. Listen is a criminally underrated masterpiece and I think the tone and style of it actually paved the way for Heaven Sent (aka the best episode of the show in my mind, without question). Series 8 is a divisive series but in my opinion is actually near-flawless in its structure, character and tone. It's really well-written. *A- Tier:* *Series 6, Series 9, Series 12* Okay so these were all really good series but had failed finales for me. Rewatching them knowing the resolution to the arcs is frustrating. I still personally really like the Series 6 resolution but I can see logically how it falls short in several places. Hell Bent has grown on me, but the cop-out on Clara's death eternally frustrates me, and I'm still not 100% sure what to make of the Timeless Child revelation (it's a little cliché for my taste) but I'm reserving judgement to see what Chibnall does with it. They don't deserve B tier but don't quite make it to A tier either. *B Tier:* *Series 2, Series 10* Series 10 is growing on me and may someday soon graduate to A tier, but I feel like it had a lot of cool ideas floating around that it never really capitalised on outside of Missy's arc. Series 2 deserves its place though, I personally just can't stand Tennant-era Rose. *C Tier:* *Series 7A* I dislike this series mostly for the time it took away from 7B, but I honestly also think that the Ponds had somewhat overstayed their welcome at this point, and there are no real outstanding eps. The eps aren't bad but they aren't stellar either. To finish up my point about 7B though, I do think the show would have benefitted a lot more if the Series 6 Christmas special was a proper-length Pond swan song, then a year later we got The Snowmen and an extended version of Series 7B instead of the weird limbo of 7A squeezing action and story-packed 7B into a very tight run. At the end of the day you can't really say a lot about 7A. It's just...there *D Tier:* *Series 11* I'm sorry, I just really disliked this series. Truthfully, I really dislike Chibnall as a showrunner. Nothing against him personally but at the end of the day I just don't think he understands sci-fi as a genre in the way that Moffat and Davies did. Series 11 had almost exclusively non-fantasy/sci-fi guest writers and I think that's a big reason why tonally it felt so off. Never have any compulsion to rewatch any part of this series though and probably never will. also little side note The Unicorn and the Wasp is also one of my favourite eps...I think it's criminally underrated. The way it's written and directed actually forms a really clever pastiche. It's quirky and witty and always an absolute joy to watch. I'm glad someone else appreciates the ep as much as I do.
I started also very late on New Who. (2012) I need really to start over again whit a marathon of all twelve seasons. good ranking by the way. My favourite season is with Math Smith.
I think you are mainly correct just that I would have maybe swapped 9 and 10 because I personally don't think 10 holds up that well and I actually liked hell bent. I also might have moved 2 and 3 down a tier because 2 in particular just feels a bit dated and definitely not as good when compared to 4
Sheap any Chris chibnall era IMO is terrible and series 11 + 12 nearly killed the show. So bad in fact the only thing I can remember from series 12 is B E N N I
Including all the specials within the series S: S4 (incredible), S9 (loved the now inseparable bond between The Dr & Clara), S8 (Loved the turbulent relationship between The Dr & Clara) A: S6 (Loved all the plot twists) B: S3/S2 (Some great stories), S7 (I started watching at the snowmen) C: S5 (fun episodes), S12 (better than people think), S1 (least memorable for me), S10 (had some bad writing) F: S11 (Awful writing, companions felt bland and Jodie felt like she was 'acting' not like she was the doctor) The only series that I dislike is 11, I love all the rest, but, some more than others.
You give me pewdiepie vibes in this video from some reason...😎 Its nice to see that someone loves series 10 as much as i love. Triology episodes,Nardole... I love all series from 1-10 but my favorite ones are 3,5,9 and best of all 4 and 10...

I’d definitely move season 1 up to S tier It started new who. It appealed to both and old and new series. So underrated as well. The doctor dances, bad wolf, boom town, parting of ways etc.

Putting series 12 on the same tier as series 1?!?!?! Ballsy move Crispy, I strongly disagree but I applaud the confidence 👏👏👏
Didn’t think of it like that AHHHH
Tom Presto, well for me series 12 is S tier and series 1 is C so 🤷🏻♂️ It's all opinions.
@@woozleproductions9760 That's your opinion, and I respect it (*sound of pitchforks being sharpened in the background*)
I'd put series 12 on a B or C tier personally, and I'd put series 1 at A or S, since it was such a solid opening season save for the farting aliens.
i Think series 8 is underrated, i love the middle episodes, and the finale is very very cool
Enzzo Pezzotti The missy reveals still gives me shivers
I love series 8. It's definitely underrated.
Series 9 + 10 are so underrated
YES.

First half is great, second half is mostly trash
@@user-fu7zf4ck9z Well The Girl Who Waited is one of the best episodes in the Smith Era. Night Terrors is fun. The God Complex is a mixed bag but I wouldn't call it trash. I know why people didn't like the finale, but I really enjoyed it. So for me, besides two duds, the back half is still pretty good
I really liked series 6.

*sees series 12 up that high*
Stop, you've broken the law!
Only really one change I'd make: series 12 in C.
Series 10 is criminally underrated by the fandom
My top 12 Modern Who seasons are:

Uhm dude, what happened to the B tier?
I think people give series 8 flack cuz they don’t realise it’s Capaldi’s development.
He’s misunderstood when he’s harsh at first but he gets better.
Yeah series 8 shows the development of the doctor and Clara's relationship and allows the viewers to see how the doctor has changed with his new incarnation. Also the hating soldiers thing is more about his complicated thoughts on Danny than soldiers as a whole

There should be an option above S just for the absolute perfection that was Season 1.

C. 12th Season

To clarify;
- My first episode was The End of Time - Part One.
- Christmas Specials are considered the the first episodes during Davies and the last during Moffat’s.

Two, the lore-complications with the Timeless Child (I won't go into it here- but luckily they have some creative creative wiggle room to get out of their mess), and three, WHERE'S MY BENNI
Face the Raven was good, but the rest of the season was meh, with the other notable moment being the "why did I choose this face"

Yours is super close to mine. Though I have a personal love for series 7 that most others seem to not share. My only big difference from yours is 7 being up a row and 8 being down a row.
Waiting for Harbo Wholmes to finish reviewing every last episode of doctor who to see his series rankings
S: Season 4 and Season 9
A: Season 3, Season 2
B: Season 1, Season 5, Season 8
C: Season 6, Season 7 Season 10
D: Season 11 and 12.
😮 there wasn’t a bad episode in season 6 it was amazing
And omg I just got to him putting series 7 as a c. Wow I disagree

A Tier: Series 1, Series 3, Series 5, Series 8
B Tier: Series 6, Series 9, Series 12
C Tier: Series 2
D Tier: Series 7, Series 11
Probably idk?
Personally, I really didn't like the River Song season 6 arc. It just felt they were trying to force the fans to like her. Jam her into every aspect of the Doctor's life.
_Doctor's assassin._
_Doctor's Wife._
_Companions' child._
Anyway, I'd probably shift Peter's seasons a smidge higher. He had the best arc for his entire regeneration. Oh, and the dialog with Clara was perfect.
Series 8,9 and 10 are the best series because they all contain Peter Capaldi
Yes crispy. Series 5 in top tier ( i also joined in series 5). + series 10 is my favourite.
All hail moffat

S- s4, s10
A-S3, s1, S12
B- S2, S5
C-S9, S8, S11
D- S6, S7
My list in order from best to worst would be:
S: Series 2, 1, 4 & 3
A: Series 6, 5, 10 & 11
B: Series 12 & 9
C: Series 7 & 8
I agree, Jodie Whitaker is a great doctor and I like the companions! The problem is that the writing could be way better. I had fun with both seasons but I'm glad that season 12 was actually a season not just monster of the week.
my tier list plus unnecessary commentary:
*S tier:*
*Series 4 (and associated specials), Series 5 ( + A Christmas Carol, aka the best self-contained ep of all time)*
*A Tier:*
*Series 8, Series 3, Series 1, Series 7B*
I split up 7A and 7B just because they do feel like two totally separate series and were even marketed as such and I have a VERY UNPOPULAR opinion placing 7B this high I know.
*A- Tier:*
*Series 6, Series 9, Series 12*
Okay so these were all really good series but had failed finales for me.
*B Tier:*
*Series 2, Series 10*
Series 10 is growing on me and may someday soon graduate to A tier, but I feel like it had a lot of cool ideas floating around that it never really capitalised on outside of Missy's arc. Series 2 deserves its place though, I personally just can't stand Tennant-era Rose.
*C Tier:*
*Series 7A*
I dislike this series mostly for the time it took away from 7B, but I honestly also think that the Ponds had somewhat overstayed their welcome at this point, and there are no real outstanding eps. It's just...there
*D Tier:*
*Series 11*
I'm sorry, I just really disliked this series.
S Tier: Series 4, 9, 10
A Tier: Series 5, 6, 8
B Tier: Series 1, 3, 12
C Tier: Series 2,
D Tier: Series 7, 11
I think you are mainly correct just that I would have maybe swapped 9 and 10 because I personally don't think 10 holds up that well and I actually liked hell bent. I also might have moved 2 and 3 down a tier because 2 in particular just feels a bit dated and definitely not as good when compared to 4

Sheap ok putting 12 above every matt smith cannot stand
@@NameWasntTaken I'd say it's practically on par with series 5 but the other 2 are so bad compaired😂
Sheap any Chris chibnall era IMO is terrible and series 11 + 12 nearly killed the show. So bad in fact the only thing I can remember from series 12 is B E N N I
Wow this is the definition of a wrong opinion.

A: S6 (Loved all the plot twists)
B: S3/S2 (Some great stories), S7 (I started watching at the snowmen)
C: S5 (fun episodes), S12 (better than people think), S1 (least memorable for me), S10 (had some bad writing)
F: S11 (Awful writing, companions felt bland and Jodie felt like she was 'acting' not like she was the doctor)
The only series that I dislike is 11, I love all the rest, but, some more than others.
You give me pewdiepie vibes in this video from some reason...😎
Its nice to see that someone loves series 10 as much as i love. Triology episodes,Nardole...

How dare you compare Series 12 with those legendary other series
@@TheOnlyGamingMC quite easily, actually. It’s quite sad to see someone get angry about another’s opinion online, I’m sure there are more useful things you could be doing.

I'm curious has anyone done a companion list. For best acting, or most fleshed out. There feels like there's lots to appreciate, with more depth to Nu-companions, over the older, (generally) shallower ones.
Oh my god why do people love heaven sent so much its just an hour of 12 walking around a castle and brooding.
I have no idea about my opinions. I just know that I like series 12, 10, 5 and 3. Why 3? Blink. Family of Blood
I’d definitely move season 1 up to S tier
It started new who. It appealed to both and old and new series. So underrated as well. The doctor dances, bad wolf, boom town, parting of ways etc.
S: 4 including specials and 1
A: 2, 3 and 5

Placement of 6 and 7 could be subject to moving for me but just thought they needed spreading out.
