- Transit walk at Frankfurt Airport in Germany - Arriving on a Lufthansa Flight from Asia and connecting to a flight flying to an EU country. Our connection flight at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) - we arrived on a Lufthansa Flight from Bangkok and our connection flight was on a Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) flight to Copenhagen, Denmark (An EU Country).
This video should give passengers an idea of what it is like to be in Transit at Frankfurt Airport / to have a connection Flight at Frankfurt Airport. This Frankfurt Airport Connection Flight video covers disembarkation of the aircraft, what signs to follow in the airport while walking to the gate of your connection flight, we look at the views inside and outside Frankfurt Airport, Baggage Reclaim and Arrival signs are seen, Immigration / Passport Control and Security Check areas are not included in the video as filming is not allowed in these areas, we ride the Frankfurt Airport train called the Skyline, we see some Duty Free Shops along the way until we make it to our flights Departure Gate. Boarding then begins for our flight and the video is ended with us being driven to our aircraft by bus transfer.

This footage was filmed inside and outside Frankfurt Airport in Germany. We arrived on a Lufthansa Flight from Bangkok and left Frankfurt Airport in a Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) flight to Copenhagen, Denmark.

This Frankfurt Airport video is a "Real Time" walking tour where you follow us (Maxi and Maro) from the disembarkation of our Lufthansa Flight from Bangkok Airport to the Boarding of our Scandinavian Airlines Flight from Frankfurt Airport to Copenhagen Airport. We would imagine that this connection flight route would be similar for most passengers arriving from Asia and having a connection Flight to another European Union (EU) country.

Marie Laberge, it’s the biggest airport in Germany. I go there twice a year when I have to get a connecting flight to China. I literally know the airport back to front! 😂
I loved seeing the old livery on the LH 747. Blue stripe down the side of the fuselage and the black nose. I see that they have just unveiled a new white and blue livery. They are apparently doing away with the yellow coloring of their iconic flying crane emblem on the tail.

At Frankfurt Airport you can spent a lot of time with walking, but not as long as in LHR. Nice walktrough.

¡¡¡¡WOW!!!! El Aeropuerto Internacional de Frankfurt es GRANDE además para cambiar de aviones hay que caminar mucho. Yo estuve en Schiphol (Holanda), desde la Ciudad de Panamá pór KLM, tuve que cambiar de aviones para ir a la Ciudad de Barcelona (España). Asi que tuve que caminar mucho pero me gusta mucho caminar. Yo tengo un pánico horrible!!! Tengo vuelo el 28 de Diciembre de 2019 de Bologna a Frankfurt y de Frankfurt a Madrid como conexión y tengo casi 50 minutos para hacer todo. Sólo sé que es la terminal 1.

This is without doubt a long walk for anybody and we agree with you that one needs a suitable amount of time to get from gate to gate when in transit at Frankfurt Airport. We actually did not fly with the Lufthansa B748, we just passed a few of them during our walk. We flew with the Lufthansa Airbus A380 and that Tripreport will be uploaded some time in the future! In Germany it is common for people to sometimes count the station they are at. That is likely where the confusion came from, because the employee said you had to get off at the second stop. Although not all people do that, it can be quite confusing.

Im traveling for the first time with plane on 11th alone and I have a connecting flight in Frankfurt and all of this looks scary too me and gives me anxiety. Any way you could help me cope with it and tell me what are the key things i should be looking at? How did you know that you need to take train to gate B? And how did you know your gate was B12 even if it didnt say on the monitors when you looking it only said gate B?
1. The only thing you will need to be looking for are signs.
2. There was a sign next to the Train Door that said you need to take this train to the B gates.
3. The gate B12 was noted on the boarding pass.
I know you probably dont need this anymore, but just in case I answerd your question!
If you have doubt in anything, just ask the nearest employee, most germans speak english, and in Airports staff will defnitely speak english.

Having lived in Germany for 15 years in the 60's and 70's and having been impressed with the efficiency, I can't understand how confusing this transfer was, and where were the usual dual signs in German and English? I am a regular traveler as well.

We found it very easy to find our way through the airport however the walk is long and will be challenging for people with walking disabilities. As regards your flight to BSL, you should be able to see the gate area on your ticket when you check-in for your flights, but still do remember to check the information screens within the airport (gates can change at the last minute). Hello. I have a question. I'm travelling from Macedonia (non Schengen country), to Frankfurt and then to Portugal. Basically connecting flight from Frankfurt to Portugal. It's a 3 hour stopover. My question is, after i leave the plane from my country to Frankfurt, do i need to go through passport check and security before finding my gate at my terminal on the Frankfurt airport?

Also I did not see you taking checked in baggage. Did you collect it directly at Denmark ? What happens at security check ?
That's plenty of time to pass German immigration and get to your gate. Security is done in transit by local standards as people have come from all over the world with different standards of security checks. Your baggage should be checked all the way to Berlin if you've got a single itinerary.
So your passport was stamped in Frankfurt not in Copenhagen, and did you pass through passport control in Copenhagen ?

@@macla5229 It actually went very easy, thank you for asking. The signs in the airport are easy to follow to your connecting flight and it really doesn't take very long at all. You only have to go through some scanners and put your bags on an x-ray machine and then your through to the gates. There are so many lanes for security it was not a hassle in the slightest.
You have plenty of time in my opinion, even with all the new checks for covid etc. Worry not :) Have a safe flight.

Security Takes between 5 and 20min in my experience. At the German/EU border you will wait between 20-40min in my experience.
Also, if you are travelling to Germany/EU Schengen Area in 2022, you need to file an application for an ETIAS VISA, similar to VISA ESTA in the US
Hello, this video was very informative. I will be going to Frankfurt to get on a connecting flight and noticed that you didn't need to pick up your luggages. Is that always the case? I'm new to flying so I dont know how the process is. Would it be like:
Get off plane -> pick up baggage -> head to connecting flight -> go to immigration (is this where you can check your luggage back in?) -> then go to your connecting flight gate.
I guess my main question is when do you know you have to pick up your luggage and if you have to what are the steps in checking it in again.
When you are connecting flights, it's very different between the U.S. and EU
In the EU, you don't have to pick up baggage, clear customs and recheck at the transfer airport. You will get through customs at the destination airport. So the process will be:
get off the plane -> go to border control/security -> go to security/border control -> go to connecting flight.

Hi ZS Aviation HD, if you have booked a connection flight on the same ticket, then the airline (we would assume) feels that there is time enough for a transfer. Maro and I (Maxi) normally contact the airline when we are in doubt, and then ask "what happens if we miss our connection flight at no fault of our own?" Hope this information helps. As regards to your question, there are so many factors which can influence transfer time such as a delayed connection , a busy security control, a busy Immigration or a long walk between terminals.
If 1 hour 15 minutes is what the airline has between flights if you booked them all on the same ticket, then the airline does feel that there is enough time. If you are in doubt contact the airline or your travel agency directly. In this kind of situation we always contact the airline beforehand to hear what the consequences are if we miss our connection flight because of a delay at the airport of origin.

First of all, do not be nervous... :-D All you have to do is follow the signs to your gate. If you are unsure at any stage of your Transfer there are always aircraft personal on hand that can point you in the right direction. We took the train as we had to change Terminals, if this is the case for you, your transfer walk will automatically bring you to the train.
