- Man, if you thought any of the long battles in this game were grand, wait til you see this one. The intro to it is just BEAUTIFUL. You wanna be super careful in this fight because the cops will start to take out their guns when they reach low enough HP, and you KNOW how dangerous guns are in this game, so try to take them out as quickly as you can. Focusing on one cop at a time does help a bit.

This intro was fucking fantastic, AND THAT MUSIC TOO
You always play these games so goddamn well. Whenever I was faced with a crowd in this game I automatically used crane and I never realised how useful Tiger could be in certain situations, even when surrounded by enemies.
Very unique too, not spamming repeated EX Action attacks most of the time and made his gameplay look like some action movie.
Crane is unfortunately almost useless

I like a moment to appreciated the moment from 3:46 to 4:27 and how AWESOME it was.

2:26 got me hella hyped up.
I'm sat here with the credits rolling for the first time and I couldn't be any sadder to come to the end of an amazing game like this.
Judgment was everything I wanted Yakuza 6 to be and I enjoyed every second of it - including this long battle here, which has to be my favourite.
I hope the inevitable sequel follows the Yakuza formula even more and allows you to play as Kaito, Sugiura and Higashi as they're easily my favourite supporting cast in a RGG game that ain't 0, 4 or 5

@@RasenRendanX I think it's a beautiful game. It's a fresh, unique entry that despite following the Dragon Quest formula still manages to stand on its own unique ground and provide a fresh take on an RPG genre that's gained traction these last few years.
The cast are rich and brimming with excellence, the story though at times had a few plot points I didn't agree with - I still enjoyed thoroughly and it made Ichiban as humanly as possible. He wasn't afraid to cry alongside the same friends he'd share laughter with, he wasn't afraid to express fear or show anger and it made me emotionally invested in him.
These same friends were his strength and characters who were all written to exist as an exciting addition to the plot and the party, it's one of few games where I love the whole cast.
The game is rich with content and the mini game variety easily tops the previous entries, I also love the music and how uplifting it can be at times, while also being very frightening with particular characters or sorrowful (or a straight up banger if you're fighting Mabuchi)
(SPOILER: DON'T READ FARTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME)
The ending tore my heart out, seeing Masato exit this world the same way he came into it, in the hands of a "family" member and Kazuhiro Nakaya nailed his role as Ichiban, it was so separable from Nishiki that not once did I see his previous role within his performance as Ichiban. It's a unique direction for the Yakuza franchise that I'm absolutely loving. I can't wait to see where it goes from here and personally, it's my 2nd favourite game I've played this year.

@@thediamondcutter9185 Thank you! I just think judgment is a really heartfelt game with a strong narrative accompanied by some of the most three dimensional characters. Yagami and Kuroiwa especially, being each other's antithesis cultivates in an engaging climax. This whole game just rocks tbh
Now all this finale needs now is a chase battle where Yagami and Friends have to escape from police women trying to bring them sexy law enforcement.
A side quest to test out the new tactic. Not a bad idea. Much like the drug test in Yakuza 0.
The last struggle to the justice... Everything was figured by some vile detective, even it destroyed Yagami's life...

So Kaito's fighting style is Kiryu's Brawler style, Sugiura's is Baba, What fighting style does Higashi have?
Both Sugiura's and Higashi's fighting styles are unique, actually. I guess Sugiura's stance looks a bit like Baba's?

Higashi's first battle QTE is the same as Baba's first battle
Higashi's is Muay Thai, from what I understand.
Kaito is Kiryu’s brawler, Sugiura is Ogita from Y5, and Higashi’s is actually unique.

The intro is beautiuful? Nah man, it's the music. They play Destination this one time, and it's sad. I will admit though that it made it extremely satisfying when I finally heard the song being used.

Honestly it's kind of a shame that we can't play as the side characters in Judgment.
I started the Yakuza series right at the first game. By 3 I was already super tired of playing as Kiryu. His moveset greatly improved from 1 to 2, but 3 just got really repetitive. Luckily, the sheer awesomeness of Yoshitaka Mine saved Yakuza 3 for me.
But Yakuza 4...Characters like Akiyama, Saejima and Tanimura brought an incredible level of freshness to the gameplay of Yakuza. Tatsuo was fantastic as well in 5. And in 0, we finally got a chance to play a fully fleshed out Majima.
It seems like Sega is more inclined to promote games with a solo protagonist, but I much rather prefer Yakuza games with multiple characters, even if it is just two in total like 0. That being said, I would have loved to play as Kaito, Sugiura or Higashi (my favorite) in this game. But I get it, new character and possibly a new series overall. Yagami does feel like a character who can do almost anything in a fight.
But man...still a shame though. Watching people mod the recent selection of Yakuza games makes me a bit envious that we dont receive too many titles with multiple playable protagonists when Sega clearly puts alot of effort into the fighting styles of all the supporting characters. When modded to the proper configuration, bosses like Kuze, Awano, and Ryuji function identically to playable characters due to how deep and robust their movesets are. It's a shame to leave these movesets at the disposal of the game's AI.
Because it’s easier to focus on one character story than multiple one Y4 despite have 4 playable character the chapter length was really short and Y5 that game was too big for its own good and the pacing was bad all around 0 probably struck perfect balance but still
@@kratosgow342True. But tbh, I didn't find the Yakuza 4 character story modes noticeably short at all. Each character got their own roles in the story, side stories and their own gameplay gimmicks. What made it feel whole was the fact that all the protagonists came together in the end.
Personally for me though, Yakuza 4's story did feel short as a whole, but not because of the perspectives being divided amongst 4 characters. I felt pretty satisfied with the amount of time we got to play as each character. The overarching story however didnt feel as deep or as involved as the previous three games.
Yakuza 5 tried to fix that by branching the storylines in almost independent directions, but kind of faltered in the way things were tied together. Like Tatsuo facing down with Shingeki Baba just didnt feel like a very invested final boss at the end of his story.
Yakuza 0 felt like the perfect balance; but I feel its mostly due to a combination of factors. The deeper combat system for one. Kiryu and Majima both maintain a total of 4 fighting styles each. So essentially each character can fight as 4 different characters on their own. Further, Kiryu and Majima simply hold their own as characters. They already have so much to work with as far as their characterization and canon go, there's no issue in filling in the gaps for each of their back stories. It's a lot more harder doing this with completely new characters.
The issue with Judgment is that by the end of the story, each of the 4 main characters feel fully fleshed out. Kaito is the humble and streetwise disgraced yakuza who's loyal to a fault. Higashi is the once innocent acolyte who had his heart turned to stone. Sugiura is the intelligent but troubled youth who wished to avenge his sister more than anything. I feel that these characters could have held their own as playable characters at specific parts of the story. Hell, I'd be satisfied if RgG developers put more effort into the partner gameplay and made it more integral to combat.
For instance, when Yagami and Sugiura go investigate Shono's secret lab--there's a moment when Sugiura gets kidnapped by the hanging man, and Yagami is forced to rescue him. It would have been pretty entertaining if the roles were reversed. You start off playing as Yagami and lose control of him when the hangman kidnaps him. It's at this point in the game where you briefly take control of Sugiura to rescue Yagami.
Or going back to the moment that Yagami tries to infiltrate KJ Arts the 2nd time. Kaito proposes setting up a distraction to give Yagami the opening he needs. It'd be amazng if you could take control of Kaito during that period, rile up the Kyorei and then have a fight sequence as Kaito before playing as Yagami in the KJ arts segment.
Judgment does already do this to a minimal degree with Saori's two playable moments (and these two moments are among my favorite experiences in this game). It would've added alot more to the game if they did it with other supporting characters too. I'm willing to bet that all the AI partners you get in this game have pretty full and solid movesets already programmed into the AI. It's just a shame that players will never be able to use them.
@@yedo8516 Actually Onimusha 2 did the same thing where at certain point of the story the 4 side characters will be playable and they need to rescue the protagonist from danger, Judgement could definitely done this sort of thing.

I'm sure there will be ways you can make them look more serious, like using Ichiban's base job (hand-to-hand attacks, no weapons) or something.

Not a chance. In a fight, Yagami doesn't bring anything to the table that Kiryu hasn't seen before. The closest equivalent to Yagami in the series is Akiyama, and Kiryu wrecked him. Twice. And one of those times Tanimura was helping him.
Yagami says that he's entirely self taught and it's just what he's learnt from watching. He's just a scrapper, he gets his ass kicked in a cutscene with Hamura to the point of almost dying
Kiryu has trained under Komaki who is a professional martial artist and is well trained in fighting since he had to adopt it early on, he's had to perfect his Dragon of Dojima style
@@otakamerd1220 Old post but I like talking about the series. Kiryu is factually self-taught too. Kiryu's canon style of choice is brawler in 0. But his genius is to the point that he is able to pick the refined and highly technical rush style after a few seconds of observation. Also keep in mind that before 0 became canon, the first thing he says to Komaki is that he never formally trained in martial arts. All the moves he had in Yakuza 1 were moves he picked up from experience. The training that Komaki gives Kiryu doesnt do much more than add a couple of hits and maneuvers to his repertoire. The most significant gains he gets from Komaki, however are some significantly powerful heat moves.
Yagami's a bit more murky. He is also self taught, but unlike all the protagonists before him, Yagami doesnt have a canon teacher. Nonetheless Yagami's skill level is more than enough for him to bowl over boatloads of yakuza goons with ease and beat down a highly trained assassin on his first go.
Who would win though? It's hard to say. I would say Yagami has more options due to his wallrunning and acrobatics. He can also perform the tiger killer blow with equal effectiveness to Kiryu.
They both have their own gimmick in their heat moves as well. Kiryu is touted to have unsurpassed striking power and endurance in his most climactic heat animations. Yagami on the other hand is shown to be nimble, crafty and nigh untouchable in his own heat animations.
If we're going by canon, I can see Kiryu taking the fight due to his plot armor. But if we're being technical, I honestly see Yagami winning due to his multitude of options for attack and defense. Though, Kiryu might still take the fight if he goes full anime and uses that OP dragon mode from Yakuza 5.
