- I surprisingly got this in ONE damn go, I surprised myself with that, too. I had a lot of whoopsies, but I feel like I made up for it in other parts. Might be worth noting that I managed to pull this video off with only two attack upgrades. Let me post the tips for him that I posted in the Japanese version of the game:
1 - He will attempt to steal your phone during the first phase, which will make you unable to access the inventory and the phone menu as a whole. You will only have your shortcut healing items.
2 - When he takes out the lightsabers, there will be two new phases, blue and red. The projectiles that generate from his attacks will heal you and restore your heat if you're in the corresponding color.
3 - HOWEVER, once he's at 2 HPs and down, you'll notice that he'll take super minimal damage if you use the same style color as him, at this point, using the opposite style will be what you need to deal normal damage to him, but at the same time you need to be careful of the projectiles of the opposite color because if they catch you, that might be it for you. So gain heat with the projectiles of the same color first, then go into boost mode which makes you invincible, and take it from there.
4 - Tiger dropping him in the opposite colored style in his lightsabers phase, which you will see in this video, will take away his shield that he puts up when he reaches 2 HP bars, and thus will make the 2 HP bars phase much easier to deal with. BUT, tiger dropping him in the opposite style can easily go wrong and you may die.

Let's not forget that Kiryu learned an entirely different style of martial arts in 30 seconds just from watching a debt collector smashing a beer crate to a guy's face.

Tiger Festivals you can actually avoid that. If you dodge him long enough until you get him to the weapons you keep your items. I did that because he was so hard to beat without my items!!!:(

I like how all the enemies in a Yakuza game are just normal mortal beings and then the Amons show up with straight-up wizard magic stuff.

@@coolwolf506 you have to learn it to acquire a friend (you have to win a match and since it’s pretty long and even in the easiest difficulty each opponent knows what he’s doing good luck winning by doing random moves) so you can acquire an optional case you have to finish in order to get the Amon fight.
Amon is so powerful, he's able to hack into your PS4 and cause it to melt.
He's really a forth wall breaker! One time in MGS2, the colonel told me to turn the console off! Literally! Look it up!
Also, Amon also makes your PS4 controller's OPTIONS button go useless.

The frame rate thing doesnt bother me as much as the fact he takes away your phone... which is your menu basically. So you only get 3 items to use. This guy puts so amons cheesy as rocket launcher and helicopter to shame. He gets even worse in y7

I love how Shin Amon is more pouty, down to earth, and even stutters during his sentences when he gets tripped up. A nice contrast to Jo Amon.

I don’t think every multiverse in the entire omniverse. So far just the yakuza multiverse (witch is this one) and the Fist of the North Star multiverse (probably because he was in a dimension that seems to have various aspects of the yakuza multiverse bleeding into it)

I think Judgment and Yakuza are in the same timeline. It’s just that the characters of Yakuza and Judgment rarely interact with each other. I support this theory because according to Yagami, Kiryu definitely fakes his death. Yagami does know about the legendary Dragon of Dojima 🐉.

For anyone that wants an even easier way to deal with him (must have dlc extracts):
Get him down to stage where he starts to use his shields and you have to risk getting damaged in the opposite style. When you reach this stage, activate the mystical dance extract. You will not be able to die for 90 seconds. Once you break his shields, simply switch into the same style as him (activate heat mode) and you will be able to comb to through all his attacks (yes even the critical ones) as the blasts will raise your heat
His name should be FPS Amon instead.

I like the fact that Shin breaks the 4th wall "Hey! Isn't this the part where you ask about my intentions?!" like it's a routine for secret bosses in the series to explain.
I love how at the end Yagami is all "oh fuck sake I'm going home" before Shin even gives his motivation, shows a nice contrast compared to Kiryu who'd be giving some words of wisdom to Shin as well as contemplate his rivalry with the Amon clan. Can't wait for Shin Yakuza to see how Ichiban handles the Amon clan, hell if it's Shin again I wonder if he'll reference Yagami.

I love how the case starts,closes and starts again just cus it didn't made any sence for Yagami XD...it's like Amon is too powerful to start and end the side case at his will.
Plus when the FPS drop during the last section,I actually find it it's soo Amon thing to do.I mean,he is Amon of all people and we all know he would anything to cheap out a fight and expecting a fair fight from a cheap boss like him is impossible.

I like how Shin calls Yagami the reigning master over Kamurocho. Ichiban may be the new legend in the mainline games, but I like to think Yagami is the new protector of Kamurocho, while Ichiban's home is Ijincho.
Finally got round to picking Judgment back up and fighting Amon. Damn this was the hardest fight out of the whole series, I’m ashamed to say I had to drop the difficultly to easy and still got my ass beat at least 5 more times
You know the song that plays during this fight pretty much describes every Amon fight, He seems easy at first glance then that music shift after the first few seconds of the fight then is when the player discovers how much damage he deals and completely rekts you in seconds.
I love that the thumbnail is just a closeup of the mc's face.
Shin the FPS Destroyer, a true force to be reckoned with.
The music is great though out the fight but the beat drop at the beginning almost matches the moment of realization that this guy is no push-over, 4:05 for reference.

The Amon Clan. What a worthy opponent. He made some incredible foes such as Kiryu, Majima, Kenshiro and now it's Yagami.
Edit: And Ichiban too (Yakuza 7).
Saw you struggling during the livestream. Where would you rank this Amon compared to all the others in terms of difficulty?
To be fair to all the Amons, you will likely be really lost the first time. But assuming you are familiar with at least most of them, I'd say this Amon is up there among the trickiest because you need to take risks more than other Amons to beat him especially with the fight basically hinging on remaining on a certain style to survive.. Tiger dropping him in the opposite style in his lightsaber phase will result in him not having a shield later on, but the catch is that it's super risky, and a slip-up may pretty much result in an instant game over. So I'd say he's up there in terms of difficulty especially if you have trouble with timing. He's my favorite Amon for sure. The soundtrack, the "ultimate duel" atmosphere that the music and the arena both give, plus how risky most of your moves are, and the new gimmicks with the two styles being so important to the fight, they all make this fight so damn good.
Also frame drops help make the fight harder!
@AfterBRNR Ohh and I almost forgot the phone stealing. As far as I know, not a SINGLE Amon had that power to pretty much steal not only your inventory but the goddamn start menu. If he does that, you best hope your shortcut healing items will be enough for the rest of the fight and that no one calls for you in the middle of the fight.

There's just no escaping Amon's grasp are we sure they're just a band of assassins?
What I did with him was that at the very start of the fight, I would use an extract that let's you grab enemies and throw them to the floor to beat them by punches to the face. I did that like 4-5 times until he got to his second phase, so I could still have my phone and my pause menu.

I tried first few and it indeed hard but once u understand the color mechanics, the fight is actually damn simple. Its a great fight tho enjoyed the gimmicks.

I saw some people said that Tiger Drop on opposite style can get rid of the shield but there's easier method that you can get rid of the shield by using walljump finisher move (running to the wall and press triangle) but like other strat it's really risky if you missed the attack I recommend activate Ex-Boost before you attack.
Does it have to be on the opposite style as well?

We all thought Tiger Drop was the most powerful technique. Turns out it's actually the second most powerful behind Frame Drop.
I just fought Shin Amon today and I gotta tell you, without your assistance I would have repeat the fight without dying. Lucky enough I got him in one go!

It seems you are playing a completely different version than I am. He has his shield up 100% of the time in my fight. How were you able to glitch out his shield phase and do damage to him? Took me about 45 minutes of combing him with the same color to eventually get his 2 bars doing 1% per hit
How do you get him to skip using his shield? I couldn't do more than tiny chips of damage on his final phase, but looks like he never uses it in this vid, does he have a particular HP break that lets you skip his Shield in the same way you can keep your phone if you force him to Phase 2 before he can grab you?
I forgot Shin Amon has the Essence of Framerates when he busts out those homing projectiles when the world turns red!

I find it funny that there is actually a way to prevent him stealing your phone btw.
My god the frame drops when he uses explosives and the fire.
So this Amon has an interesting fighting style... He destroys your very computer with all those special effects...
