- Pretty cool dynamic intro and a great fight overall. I have no idea why they switch to multi QTEs after having you go through regular ones before this point but hey. What do you guys think of this fight and the character?

kenmochi surviving as long as he did becomes a lot more impressive when you remember that his need to stay drunk probably meant he drank a LOT of the poisoned drinks at the party
Man, Kenmochi has some of the best story writing of any side-antagonist in any RGGS game I've seen. The dude literally ended up unknowingly drinking himself to death as a result of his own PTSD-induced alcoholism, and was still able to kill the person who caused it all with his last moments of life. He died with his hands around the throat of the man that ruined his life. Poetic stuff.
I like that they included the hand scratch so that even if you took no-hits against the boss, Kaito still gets poisoned
the impossible no damage boss
I had a feeling that cut on his hand was gonna be important when they focused on it
@@kaz101The fabled nightmare coming true
Ryu ga Gotoku knows their fan base enough to know that they have to make things work because of people like Devileon who does no damage runs
He still has a lot of cuts and bruises at the end and in shirakaba fight
Seeing someone die like Kyoya did in the RGG universe is so visceral when you consider that most deaths aren't super visual, and killing blows like getting chopped up by a M134 minigun doesn't even kill somebody. Him getting his neck broke like that was actually shocking.
it was a mix of cheering, shock, sadness, and disturbed. i liked seeing kenmochi, the guy that was basically in this psychological alcoholic torture chamber kill him, but the way he did it with the camera intentionally showing just him killing kyoya made the scene a moment where you are confused which emotion to feel.
4:50 That arm slam into the chain fence would've made Saejima proud, the raw power on that hit was crazy.
And Mr.Wavecut-sausage lips shrugs it off like the anime antagonist he is

God, the scene beforehand and after are some of the most disturbing in the whole series, atleast to me and its all in a DLC? Crazy.
Yeah, the poison pretty much turns the body against itself. Much scarier than a gun or a threat of violence. Knowing that there isn't a chance of escape as you uncontrollably vomit blood🫣 that shit bugged me when it started, felt like we lost frfr.
I love that RGG Studio pulled a "Chekhov Skill" on us.

@@Andrew___P how about lau ka long in kiwami, he had multiple weapons during the fight
@@ultrastrudlisxxl665he wield spear and twin dao on 1 and on 3 he use same spear and the clawhand he basically use 3 different weapon
Kyoya's death was by far the most satisfying in the whole series. Dude had his neck snapped by his own affiliate that pretty much came back from the dead for a minute or two to finish his purpose and cleanse his mind from the guilt in his last moments. He was SO used to drinking alcohol, he withstood the poison almost like it was nothing. Thinking about it, the arson might have been the reason he spiraled into drinking his pain away, which is even more ironic. Extremely poetic stuff for a DLC.
And this is what so sad about Kenmochi is aside from being somewhat of a jock. He was an overachiever, good grades, good physique and had tight social circle. Yet Kyoya took it all from him and didn't realize it and ends up taking the blame for murder without him knowing it was a murder plot
@@MrAsaqethe entire backstory of Kaito Files can be roughly summarised as “and then along came Kyoya.”
Tasting his own medicine by the man who been drinking the poison he create
@@MrAsaqe If Kenmochi hadn't fallen under Kyoya's influence, he and Maho would've probably been a cute couple.
I love how Sadamoto's QTE is him doing a literal Stinger like he's a Son of Sparda.
After shrugging off that clothesline from hell like it was nothing, I wouldn’t doubt he is.
First time I ever recall a boss actually poisoning their knife. Sadamoto really used every trick he has to make up for his lack of fighting skill compared to other antagonists.
And he isn't (mostly) a bitch like Jingu or Munakata.
He seemed pretty skilled tbh he threw a knife at a gun just like that
@@kang1983 also that 4 ft jump lol
Lack of skill? What do you mean, man? Sadamoto's out here styling on Kaito with cartwheels and masterful knife skills. He's the revolver ocelot of knives for all I'm concerned.
That "knife collection" Jun talks about was a red flag. As soon as I heard about that I had a bad feeling about him.
I don't know about everyone else, but Sadamoto being a Jingu-like villain felt wild to me. I had suddenly realized it like, "Wow, this guy is a real piece of shit." That being said, I think he's probably the most vile antagonist of the Judgement series I've seen so far.
I didn't predict exactly where the story would go but I totally didn't trust him the second Jun talked about his knife trauma
Sadamoto is definitely up there for one of the most evil villians. I’d say he’s a little worse than Jingu even
After the Jingu you fight for the woman, where did I see this before?
Kenmochi's the real MVP

Kyoya is really the most psychotic villain I have ever face in my entire life.
Kenmochi put his ghosts to rest and took a monster out. Got damn🤙🏿
And dies from the poison in the process.
As demented as this sounds, i was so happy when he broke his neck
@Garland If the circumstances were different and he wasn't under Sadamoto's thumb, I'm pretty sure he and Maho would've been a couple at some point.
@Garland i theorized that Kenmochi became an alcoholic after he accidentally murdered the Natsume family
@Garland846he was a good guy, ran a social group, good grades and ripped as fuck. It really show who are the true snakes in the grass.
I like to think that they switched to multi QTEs only in this fight to reflect Sadamoto’s deceptive nature.
I personally see it as them trying to make multi qtes more of a "suddenly the boss did this" kinda thing
Since the normal qtes are all Kaito countering another action after or during said action
This one is Kyo suddenly coming back to attack an unexpected blindside
@@yof2210 Yeah, sorta like a "this complex and easy to fuck up QTE is representative of the chances of you having the reactions to dodge this"

The biggest pos in the series is being voiced by Jun Oda voice actor. Who is also a pos in the series. Who also voiced Diavolo from JoJo. Who is also a big pos in the JoJo series. Who also voiced the flamboyant ninja in Demon Slayer. Who is the biggest Chad there.
Kyoya’s business approach to his plan is by far my favorite aspect of the character. He doesn’t justify it with some “the end justifies the means” bullshit like Kuroiwa, or claim it’s because he’s a necessary evil like Soma.
He wants to be on top with no evidence leading back to him, and if he needs Mikiko and Crimson Lotus dead, he’ll damn well go for it. Really good antagonist.
Man, the voice actor did a very good job. The loud high pitched screams like “Shinei!” makes Sadamoto more menacing and psychopathic.

Kaito dealing with another knife user after Soma but this time Yagami not around, must be real rough for him and he ended up getting hospitalized again. Atleast he found the love of his life after being separated for years.
Sadamoto is Soma meets Jingu with some mix of Kuroiwa right there and even doesn't mind openly killing people through poisoned wine.
Yeah Kaito probably asks Yagami on disarming knife users
Kaito is only hospitalized because Sadamoto's knife was laced with toxin, he was the Matsugane's muscle and also fought in the streets longer than Yagami, no doubt he can handle himself against knife freaks, can't survive as a yakuza if that's what stops you.
I’m sure Kaito can handle himself well enough with knives but Soma is pretty terrifying
Now i really want soma vs kyoya
If you think about it, Kyoya and Kenmochi are a warped version of Soma and Akutsu.
I can't believe I been fooled twice with final bosses in the same game
When you thought the game would end off with fighting a psychopath you fight a giga simp doctor 😑
@@TheGamerClown Gigasimp > A married man
The only reason I didn’t think Soma was the final boss was that Kuwana hadn’t gotten a dynamic intro yet but the random ass RK thugs had so clearly he still was gonna have one last fight
i was expecting sadamoto to not be the final boss, but what i wasn't expecting was the final boss to be so heartwarming. the games barely slow down to a "first chapters" vibe. so seeing that the story is basically over and it's just a friendly fight to win a lover is great.
@@Sockren "friendly fight" the doctor's love was so strong, bro FULLY healed for a second time. no boss did this in judgement and LJ. 😂
Honestly this is the one of the best ways RGG has killed a villain off in the series
Giving Kaito's condition after the fight, defeating this boss while at low health is kinda canon.
Fun Fact: Kyoya is voiced by Jun Oda's voice actor and his son just so happens to be named Jun.
Knew I heard that voice from somewhere
i knew there was something off the moment Kyoya made his first appearance. if it wasn't for the fact that he looks similar to Soma and that he traumatized Jun with a knife, i wouldn't have even noticed
Mom are you leaving me again?
Yeah
*shoots villain oda*
I like to think they brought Jun Oda's VA back to play this guy for that extra layer if RGG evil. (Tho I genuinely thought he was a red herring and just a legit bad parent). At first.
It is pretty cool that Tanimura came back and we also get a fight against him. Sadly Akutsu^2 kills him.
Tanimura with modified Ed moveset
A really good fight, good music, dynamic intro & Sadamoto more Evil than Jingu & fights more than him.
Holy shit that neck snap is powerful

the part when jun got the strength to break free because of kaito is a goddamn nice touch
11:04 Yakuza 7 Omi Alliance theme sound effect
I wonder whats the death count here since Kaito survived getting y'know, slashed with a poisoned knife.
If he's the only one that survived, it has to be one of the strongest cases of plot armor in the series.
@@devilleon7 would be insane that a diluted drink is more lethal than a direct cut, but its RGG studios after all we fought tigers and shit.
actually, Kaito's actual age is now 42 years old in this DLC (2022), because he was born in 1980 according to the yakuza wiki. His age however is considered unlucky number in japanese culture/supersitions because the number 42 sounds like shini (死に - to death). Which also represents why this event of this DLC Kaito always escape from the death. First, when he tries to save Mikiko from the Crimson Lotus, Kaito took a bullet for her and jumped with her from the building and landed on the car as a cushion from the below and fainted. Second, when he tries to fight Sadamoto in the boss fight Sadamoto slashed Kaito's left hand with the laced poison knife which caused Kaito showed signs of poisoning and vomiting blood then collapsed after the fight against Sadamoto. Both of the outcomes is Kaito being rushed to the Touto Hospital and wake up in the hospital bedroom.
Where's James A. Janise when you need him?
He just has a really good immune system lol
I always wanted a boss to whip out random shit like Kiryu can do in a fight, but MAN do I hate that hairspray
It's mace he sprays you with

Blinding attacks can be blocked. Bit of a tip.
Soma gave kaito the scar in the dynamic intro so that when no damagers play this, the game still has an excuse for kaito having the poison lmao
The Fact that you Think He is soma is Actually Scary
I’d like to see kaito eventually just become immune to poison because of overexposure as time goes on haha
3:52 Kyoya shares Soma's taunt line.
Holy shit, awesome job with that finisher. That was super cool
Absolutely cackling at Kyoya's AI falling victim to the exact same wonkiness walljumping has if you try to do it too close to the wall tbh
