    There's an article I found through google titled "Four Reasons We Love Mount Hideaway Mysteries" on a homeschooling website that has a public comment from one of the actors in this film that is pretty informative.
    "I am one of the actors in the film and for all of the reasons mentioned above is why I wanted to be part of this project. I am homeschooled, but I enjoyed seeing how stereotypes are debunked and of course, the family friendly aspect of it all. My 9 year old son truly was hooked (and had nothing to do with me!) we enjoyed the mystery without being scared. Thank you for this and we hope and want to make more quality movies!"

    As someone who is throughly familiar with homeschooling (homeschooled from pre-K through high school graduation, attended a co-op for 6 years, and used to teach at a co-op)...this feels fairly accurate 😆 half the students/teachers are normal and competent people, but the other half are awkward caricatures in all the worst ways. It all depends on the location, the parents' motivations to homeschool, and the degree of religiosity in the community.

    • @emilinebelle7811
      @emilinebelle7811 2 года назад +2

      I’m the awkward caricature half.
      I don’t know why, Was just born this way. Think I get it from my mother but my mom went to public school so I think it’s just hereditary awkwardness.

    • @emilinebelle7811

      If you’re awkward AND were homeschooled or are homeschooling, any mess up or awkwardness gets automatically blamed on homeschooling. But I’ve met so many people who grew up in public school all their lives and they struggle with stuff too

Also, he makes an old man paralyzed on the toilet while fart sound effects play in the background. It's made for this show.

    “In a small Virginia town outside a mysterious government facility, four homeschooled teenagers investigate a series of murders and other crimes while wrestling with challenges of faith, family and the transition from childhood to adulthood.”
    The books and movies in the Mount Hideaway Mysteries series include…

    Not all homeschooled people approve of this movie - certainly not this homeschooled chica. I wonder if they are mocking homeschooled people? That's sad, if that is the case. BTW< I would totally be down with the mini-series of short videos of "Kyle yelling at inanimate objects" - Kyle: "STUPID TREE! GIVE SHADE!"

    Because its oh so relevant and timely I must call point of order on Kyle! lol The Cruel Intentions sequel film was made up from the pilot episodes ORIGINALLY filmed as a Cruel Intentions television series on the WB. They had Amy Adams almost a year or 2 before breaking out with her Oscar nominated performance in Junebug. If youve seen any of it you can see Adams is acting circles around the rest of the cast playing Kathryn, the Sarah Michelle Gellar role from the film (Merteuil in the original French novel). They later reworked the names & reshot a terrible “conclusion” to sell it off as a prequel to the first film. Its interminably bad! Lol

    I have a question about homeschooling: how do the people who teach these kids acquired the knowledge that allows them to be considered experts in specific fields? I'm assuming it's... _in schools_ ...?

    I've actually stuck my phone in my waistband and now I feel attacked. (For context, the pair of pants I was wearing had the pockets sewn shut.)
