Sure wish I knew the true name of this song and who sang it as well! One of the only remaining people from that time I felt close to who probably would’ve been able to identify it was my maternal grandmother (and sole remaining biological grandparent), who unfortunately passed away this past October at the age of 86. As an ardent and steadfast supporter of our current struggle against terrorism, I sure wish America would be every bit as driven to win as we were more than 70 years ago since we’re now squaring off against, in my opinion, a threat to the free world far greater than Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo EVER were! Make no mistakes, fellow patriots: Ever since 9/11, our very EXISTENCE is what we’ve been fighting for!
I searched all over for the original song, but couldn't find it so I decided to throw together this video. Let me know if you find who did the original song. Thanks for watching!
If this is true, that would be amazing to finally know this song! When I google Owen Murphy all I get is bond pictures of a child, who is Owen Murphy Jr. I also found a Owen Murphy Panner, who served in the army from 43-46, but I can't find anything about this song relating to him. Do you have a place you found another recording of this song with the name? Thanks!
@@liamhughes5446 Unfortunately I also don't have enough information. I found the song and his name in the document at the link below. vdocuments.mx/songs-for-the-home-front.html This seems to be a material created for schools in 1944. Also, the copyright of the song seems to have been registered in 1942. Search Google Books for his name and title. You will find little information.
It's a shame that after all these years this song and possibly many others are lost... their true titles or origins unknown.
