  • I get a TON of emails inquiring if the price someone has been quoted on a trade-in is a fair price. It's a tough question to answer. I'll tell you why, and why I generally advise against a trade-in.
Good Works Tractors is happy to be sponsored by Rim Guard Solutions! This is perhaps the most well-known ballast brand on the market today. Rim Guard goes right inside your tires, so it's out of the way, it doesn't freeze, and doesn't corrode. It's made from natural materials, so it's safe around livestock and pets if it spills out. Rim Guard liquid ballast adds more weight to the back side of your tractor improving stability, loader performance, and power to the ground. Find your closest dealer at bit.ly/3d0whX0

My 2025r has been a workhorse for years! It has moved TONS of rocks, 100s of yards of mulch, loam, gravel and stone. I love my little tractor.
I know, like a faithful dog, there will come a time when i will have to say goodbye😢, even if the trade-in isnt that much, i know the initial money spent has been earned back and whatever it gets, it will be a nice parting gift after all its done for me!
I will always fondly remember my 2025r as me and my new 3033r with fully equipped factory cab, loader and backhoe ride off into new adventures...
A guy can dream, cant he??😊

...if I may offer my opine ... don't get the lowest horsepower on a frame size. Especially the 33R. It will leave you disappointed I'm afraid. Spend a few hundred more for the 39 or 46 HP. You'll be glad you did... and will make it up when it's traded in.and not left wanting when brushhogging etc

Couple of things about tractors. Have dealt with them for decades. We run Deere exclusively. The reason is simple. Support and resale. We have always gotten exceptional resale out of them. Sometimes selling them for more than we paid when we bought it. Keep it serviced and service it right before you sell. It helps. Also, we have a poultry operation. We have to cut the ROPS off our tractors to fit in the hosues. Remember to cut them off in a way that you can reattach in a way that looks clean and is just a strong as new. Hope this helps.

Courtney, i fixed my r-14 tire that kept popping off its rim with that tire seal you recommend, i think the tire shop damaged the rim when removing the tires, i remember they said they had a hard time. but the sealant is working and its not popping off the rim anymore!

Day 4362 without versaforks. The sun is hot, the air filled with humidity and the day is long. I had to move a pallet today with my bare hands. I know now the misery the savages that came before us suffered on a daily basis. Those poor souls, may they rest in peace. To add insult to injury as I was searching the wilds for food I came across a coupon code for Courtney's labor day sale. Like a castaway on a barron island finding a cell phone with no battery. That initial hope followed immediately with earth shattering defeat. May god have mercy on us all...

Less then 10 hours on tge tractor and most of that was mowing grass.
I was shocked wjen i looked up the price of a new front mount snowblower. Over 6000$ Canadian .that sure adds s lot of value to the tractor

Strange to see LS and Mahindra on that list. Most LS models are New Hollands with different decals. They were founded in 1977 and have built NH tractors for three decades. Mahindra is the largest tractor manufacturer in the World by volume. JD may be the largest based on revenue, but that's because they overcharge for everything. Mahindra beats them by number of machines in the field and they aren't exactly easy on their equipment in India.

I think you left out one thing on considering trading in your tractor to a dealer for a new one. In Indiana the sales tax on purchases is 7%. (Some states higher some lower) If I trade in my tractor to the dealer, I only pay the sales tax on the price difference of.the new unit less my trade-in value. So, if I’m allowed a trade in price for my tractor of $15,000 that’s $1,050 I’m NOT paying in sales tax. Something to think about or consider.

  • @Morpheen999

Depends on how heavily your taxed where you live, Where I am in Canada
Any extra money I would've made on selling the tractor privately, I would've paid back in taxes on the New tractor..
Minus the trade in value = a considerably lower purchase price = a lot less tax to be paid

Sometimes, off brand tractors are purchased strictly for price and delivered miles away! Trading in a tractor for which there is zero service or parts available locally can make them much less valuable to a dealer because of difficulties of next owner buying for those same reasons! The closest Massey dealer to me is over 130 miles away! I have 2 Kubota dealers and 1 Deere dealer within 25 miles. Never seen a Kioti, LS or bad boy tractor or dealer in my lifetime (66 years)! Why would I ever buy anything other than Deere or Kubota?

Kinda redundant on denying other trades when a lot of manufacturing parts are shared from all over. When this discrimination happens I know a good expression that well describes it. But in the end, if you don't like the seller, BYE-BYE and watch my money leave your lot.
