I like the feild frank part. No art channels really talk about the field frank and I think that this should be brought up more for beginner artists to know how to properly initiate and preform the field frank.
WELL WELL WELL, If it isn't Hotdog Chef Extraordinaire! THE Pioneer in all things Hotdog related. Your push down, push up method is a staple when cooking at home. Will try the torch method next.
Wait just a minute! I am remembering a few other hot dog in a skillet, how to videos by Peter as-well-as a steak in a skillet video. So this may occasionally be a cooking channel.
Peter you are my favorite art channel on RUclips. For the past 2 months I have been watching you every day during my lunch breaks, thank you for all of the content. I especially enjoy the story reading and the glow ink vids.
I feel like these short pencils are specificly made for sketching instead of drawing an art-piece. The shortness and thickness encourages to loosen up a little and not take it too seriously, which is really important for a good sketch. I use them as a designer a lot, but when I try to make art i tend to use a regular pencil because it gives me a little more control. Also, what you said about standing up and using your whole body to draw, was also what i feel like when i draw with a Kaweco often. Its just really fun to use and a whole other experience.
Aaaaaa Peter is making more friends!!!! So glad you're with some like minded individuals, man! Your art is so great and more ppl should be exposed to its greatness.
So I stumbled upon this channel from searching for glass pens. I watched a few of Peter's recents. I haven't the slightest idea why but these videos make me so calm and happy. 😀😀😀

Before I start watching this video (while I should be sleeping) I'll say damn you Peter! I found your channel a couple weeks ago and today I bought my first fountain pen, some ink and nice letter paper. I've always hated writing by hand, but today I also spent almost two hours writing a long letter. By hand. With my new pen. I love my new pen.
It is possible to sandpaper a slightly larger diameter leads to fit. Also, you may need to break a section off for the short kaweco clutch pencils. Very cool pencils.
classmates gives us a sense of belonging. Regular classes, something to learn and look forward to everyday. Growth. I started going to classes after 3years. Feel like Sunshine.☺ have a great day peter.
1:18 : That's a cooler, I hope there's a pencil inside there Peter 1:37 : That's just a smaller cooler Peter, where's the pencil 2:00 : Peter, this isn't funny 2:21 : Are you sure that's not a bullet Peter? 3:57: Okay, that was a pencil, but now you have just licked a hot dog
I love my shaped wooden 5.6 lead holder from Cretacolor. And it was only $8.00. The plastic ones are okay, but not as comfortable to hold. Also loved seeing you cook the hot dog. I used to do that many, many years ago, but was old school and only had a bunsen burner to use.
These videos are why I enjoy Peter. First he brings up a question about pencils, then he's cooking a hotdog in a very unique way. Also art is good too.
Very cool drawing Peter! Sorry to see that the Koh-I-Noor lead didn't fit in the lead holder. It did definitely look bigger in diameter compared to the Kaweco lead!
Those 4B sticks that are too fat to fit the holder? What I do is wrap my graphite sticks in brown gummed paper. (Comes in rolls from art supplies shops. Lick the glue to make it sticky.) A spiral wrap of two layers is plenty strong enough. Then use just like a regular wood-cased pencil. Sharpen the "paper pencil" with a knife or sandpaper. Easier to hold than some lead holders, and also can be held at a more shallow angle to the paper to draw with the side of the pencil tip.
Just so you know Peter. Pretty sure the Soup eraser is Tempura Udon Soup (very tasty when not in eraser form) and the "cottage cheese and potatoes" is Curry and Rice (also very tasty, sometimes VERY spicy)
If ever on a long flight, we should all remember to bring *two* EZ-eat Field Franks. It would be rude to dig in without supplying one for the person next to you!
This is, of course, a pencil for craftsmen: for tilers, for carpenters, for joiners and roofers. It's short, it fits in your trousers, it's made of metal so it won't break and the sharpener is always with you; so you can always mark out fine lines so you know where to saw. It's also heavy, which means you can hear when it falls to the ground. So it rarely gets lost. At the end of the working day, you throw it in the toolbox, which doesn't harm it at all, and then you take it out again the next day. This pen is a tool for craftsmen's hands, not for artists. They don't have any money anyway and can't afford such a thing.
This is a pencil for SKETCHING, that's what it was designed for. Of course it can hold for edc use, but if you use a common pencil sharpener to sharpen it, it becomes THE best pencil ever!!! It can draw with super high precision and in the same time, with more versatility, because the tip can write/draw, from 0.2mm to 5.6mm. Thats crazy!! Trust me, this and the Kohinoor 5340, and 5347, are the BEST pencils for sketching. They knock the common pencils out, by a LOOOONG mile!!
Sometimes when i see you've posted a new video, I do the peter voice and say what I imagine the intro of the video could be like. My roommate's said that it's spot on. Now that you've said that your 'regular' voice is slightly different, I imagine it might be like mine 😅
I have one of these by Kohl I find it very hard to use as I am used to standard and mechanical pencils..theirs I also shorter and harder to balance..Though I think it’s the thickness of the lead I am put off about it the most as it feels like drawing with one of those kids thick pencils..I love the drawing you did ..My daughter sat and watched it with me..I told her she should watch you as I think your work is amazing ..She cannot get over how you can draw without sketch lines down...She thinks my work is amazing ..I told her no this is..most of mine gets binned lol 😀
I can't stand short pens or pencils. My go-to is the Pentel P205D mechanical pencil, which is still too skinny for my hand, but then I added one of those gel ergonomic whatevers that are meant for small children (?) onto it and I can get some good time out of it before my hand wants to murder the rest of me.
Damn what it must be like to go to class with Peter draws Been watching your channel for years you make some amazing art it really inspired me to go deeper into my hobby of drawing since I only draw for myself and I don't really think I can persue it as a career. Really thankful for the videos you put out they help me sort of stay flowing when I draw loose and abstract. I followed kind of what you said in one of your videos I let the art/ lines tell me what they want to be so i just scribble and see what it looks like
Ps I don't just do abstract I also draw people and buildings and such and ooh started drawing on my walls since I saw your vids about when you got that gig drawing on the restrooms walls and the other drawing on the floor of the restroom
Strangely I've bought the same pencil yesterday and some 5.6mm Cretacolor leads, 4b too...weird. And I've got exactly the same problem with the leads, they doesn't fit! I had to push it hard to rig one. What was my surprise today when I saw your video! Lol So, now I've seen your video, I can tell it's not a lead's brand problem like I thought, it's a pencil one! It's kind of a shame for the price if we have to sand our leads before putting them in.. Anyway, for this Kaweco pencil, the size really matters!
Thank you for one of the goofiest non-sequitirs ever. You must realize, as the artist you are, that both the short size of the lead holder and the fat stubby lead are designed for the more sketchy "in- Palm" studio drawing kind of technique which is also something that can involve black or crimson chalk or other stubby drawing implements where the pencil or whatever you're drawing with is actually over your Palm and your hand is oriented in a different way than we would normally draw. My own lead holder of this same type is plastic with a metal "claw" for holding the lead inside, and it is actually made by Koh-I-Noor itself. And it definitely holds a longer piece of lead. This, coupled with what I would imagine is an exorbitant price for the more substantial all metal Kaveco lead holder, makes me perfectly happy with the one that I already have.
This man straight up put a hot dog in his pencil case, proceeded to cook it with a lighter/mini torch, eat it, and THEN draw... and he doesn’t have millions of subscribers? Wtf RUclips this channel is pure gold
Lol! After he eats an entire hotdog in 3 bites: " I don't know if I've ever felt this ready to draw." Field Frank out of a Pelican case...best intro EVER! Love you, Peter.
Peter - This (field dog) is three bites Us - no way thats like a whole meal pete... Peter: bite one Us: ok maybe half a- Peter: bite two Us: no way Peter: and bite three Us: 🤦🏽♀️...
Hi Surfer Rosa, I encourage you to give this pencil a second chance. I also run to the 3rd party spare lead problem. The Gioconda leads cost less than the Kaweco ones so I thought, why not to try them out? As seen also in the video, the Gioconda lead doesn't fit the Kaweco lead holder. But I realized that there is only a tiny difference between the leads' diameter. Actually if you put it into the lead holder with its other end it goes deeper. At this point I noticed that the problem is only because of the title which is pressed/engraved onto the lead's surface. A fine grade sandpaper can solve the problem of diameter. Then you cut or brake the lead into half so that the length fits too and you are good to go. Hope I could help you.
I like the feild frank part. No art channels really talk about the field frank and I think that this should be brought up more for beginner artists to know how to properly initiate and preform the field frank.
It is a crucial maneuver.
