    Great Countdown To Launch NSF, And thank you Lon, Sawyer, & Trevor. BUT I have a problem with a statement that Trevor said. He said that this is the largest object ever to fly. this is incorrect the largest object ever to fly was the DLZ-129, with a length of 245m, & Diameter of 41m. Now Starship is the largest most powerful Rocket ever to fly at 121m in length & 9m in Diameter!!!

    My best assumption would be that the slots in the hot stage ring had unexpected aerodynamic consequences. Perhaps was a cause of the extreme vibrations in the grid fins.

    Put a parachute on the HSR and recover it... bingo.. fully reuseable.. just syack a different one on the booster for next launch.

    During a recent stream I remember the question "flying by" (not shared by hosts) asking: WHERE IS LON? ... I guess this is the answer. Perhaps Chris B & Das have decided he "fits" as a One-Week Preview (aka "countdown to launch") Stream MC.

    what do you think about spraying some sort of glue on the heatshields that becomes a thin plastic film over the entire shielded side just to hold the TPStiles during launch?

    • @undertow2142
      @undertow2142 Месяц назад

      It would have have to keep its material properties at 2000 degrees.

    • @Barthhhelona
      @Barthhhelona Месяц назад

      You misread his suggestion. He's saying only to hold the tiles in place during liftoff so the ship can start re-entry with all it's tiles in place. @@undertow2142

    • @S1nwar
      @S1nwar Месяц назад

      @@undertow2142 it could burn up during reentry and get reapplied for next flight

    surely at some point the hot stage ring will either become part of the booster or a recoverable design? at present wasn't it an "afterthought" they put on for IFT2? i forget.

    Flight 4 may even be considered part of the resolution of issues on Flight 3. After all until you actual test a fix you only have a theoretical opinion that it is the fix.
