Bought this for my youngest to develop basic form for single hand kettlebell work. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxtaDAl93XF8wxJhssTtjIFjzid82wglva It has a nice grip on it, just a little rough so it isn't slippery. I was doing a few rotator cuff exercises to test and worked well for those movements I'd been doing with a regular dumbbell. Cool thing you can do is hold it in your hand for door-knob turns to work the forearm and grip. Note: it's small, almost all handle, but that's what I expected given the weight. Smallest I've worked with before is 15lbs, so it was kind of funny to see the difference 10lbs makes.
Agreed, Abdul. Obesity kills. I provide a step-by-step training and nutrition plan in my book, Tactical Bodyweight Workouts. No equipment necessary so it's perfect for the road. You can grab a copy here: www.TacticalBodyweightWorkouts.com/
It seems we're experiencing the same problem. I was looking for a 26-pounds kb and couldn't find it anywhere. All stores I visited listed it as 'unavailable'.
Debating ordering a kettle bell or two but not cheap at $90+ for quality ones . Think I'll just give it a go with my dumbbells for awhile and see if it will be worth the investment.
Good man! It's impressive how 30,355 people watched this video but didn't hit the like button. Come on guys, this helps the guy promotes his channel. Thank you man!
Right on man! I don't own a channel or anything but as an experience viewer (haha) I noticed few channels use few strategies for aiding people to like their content. You could either tell people in the beginning of the video and at the end "to hit the like button" (to reinforce) or you could let them know in the middle of the video and at the end of video, let's say, before you giving a last tip or an important information halfway through the content, "... before this next/last work out tip, if you haven't done so (if you liked what you've seen so far) hit the like button to support the channel, leave a comment below and subscribe to follow up with my weekly Tactical Workouts." Interrupting the content is a good idea, because you got people's attention already and you insert the reminder of liking your video. I caught myself multiple times pausing it and making sure to leave the like. But you can opt for a more subtle way in the beginning and end of the video. Sorry for being invasive. It's just that your content is pretty solid and it seems almost like a disrespect that people watch it without liking it. Take good care brother.
Rodrigo, I appreciate you. Thank you for taking time to share. My goal is to educate a little bit, here on RUclips. For the folks who are hungry for a complete training-and-nutrition system, I wrote a book called Tactical Bodyweight Workouts. You can grab a copy here: www.TacticalBodyweightWorkouts.com/
Agreed. I talk more about the exact programs to help you boost power in my book, Tactical Bodyweight Workouts. You can grab a copy here: www.TacticalBodyweightWorkouts.com/
Thanks for the question, David. Short answer: It depends on your goal. Generally speaking do 1-3 reps for power. 6 reps for strength. 12 reps for hypertrophy. But there are additional variables too. I talk more about the exact training-and-nutrition programs to help you boost power, strength, and muscle in my book, Tactical Bodyweight Workouts. I'm not a trainer, but I've done kettlebell swings for a while now. Respectfully, the form in the video is not great. The head should stay perfectly aligned with the spine at all times. So looking forward at the top of the swing, but looking down at an angle at the bottom of the swing. It's hard to keep good alignment of the spine if you look ahead all the time.
Yes. I talk about exercise progressions/regressions in my book, Tactical Bodyweight Workouts. You can grab a copy here: www.TacticalBodyweightWorkouts.com/
it means something's off with either your stance or your back was already hurt. Because the main muscles working should always be your glutes and hemstrings. Are you properly engaging your lats, looking down and usinh your hips instead of your back?
I looks like that you are doing something at the top of the movement that doesnt look natural to me. I dont know what it is...maybe forwarding (?) the hips too much? Anyway, good excercise
Hi there , I am looking for a video regarding Dumbbell Swing but for one hand , and more specific the stand of your body . For two hands it's ok you can find a balance but with one ......? Thank you
Great question. Weight is simply a force. The golden rule is to choose a force that challenges you at the last repetition. If your technique gets sloppy, go lighter. We're using 30 pounds in this video demonstration.
The dumbbell swing mostly incorporates power generated from the legs, hips, and back. The upper body doesn't actively lift the weight, but channels the force from the lower body while stabilizing. The hands and forearms are worked in terms of gripping the object while swinging, especially with increased speed/weight.
Good question.Short answer is "it depends." Do 1 to 3 reps at 30-45% of your 1RM (repetition maximum). But whatever force you choose, be sure to use a fast or explosive tempo that can be safely controlled.
Thank you, Sir. To master this move you must sit back into your hips, with minimal knee bend, and then snap forward with a strong glute contraction. Please let me know what topics you would like me to cover.
I have a 45 lb dumbbell at my office and I do this and a few other exercises during lunch. Good times. Subscribed to your channel
Living the dram in the office. I would recommend going a bit heavier
oh my god you're voice, its so soothing.

Wow this is great 👍
great video. I was wondering if you could substitute dumbbells for kettlebells.

I notice a pain on my back after 2 days, but i do it well, neutral spine, need of a belt or something?
it means something's off with either your stance or your back was already hurt. Because the main muscles working should always be your glutes and hemstrings. Are you properly engaging your lats, looking down and usinh your hips instead of your back?
How much weight do you use compared to a kettlebell because I find the kettlebell feels heavier

How do you know what weight to use doing this exercise?

Does this work arms at all?

A chinup is a great movement to "work arms" if that is your goal. Like this >> ruclips.net/video/iKnBM9j9iqg/видео.html

This so easy and fun or im doing it wrong
Of course you can do these, low intensity, as part of a dynamic warmup.
Hahaha dumbbell superiority
where does it effect
Thank you, Sir. To master this move you must sit back into your hips, with minimal knee bend, and then snap forward with a strong glute contraction. Please let me know what topics you would like me to cover.
You are not really squatting
swarnak Ray you’re not supposed to
Thank you for your feedback.
You can do both.... There's a lot of variations to the kettlebell swing. I like bringing my swing up really high
